Stay at a newly remodeled waterfront home on Douglas Island. Close to Downtown Juneau. On a private 1/2 acre with two boat launches on the property. Great view. 3 bedroom, 2 bath open living area.
Bedrooms and living space are all completely remodeled as of May 2014. The house is on a 1/2 acre (huge by Juneau standards) waterfront lot but close to downtown. The property has two boat launches and plenty of space for parking.
Hot tub, wireless internet, outdoor grill.

Private, large lot homes but friendly neighbors. Close to downtown but can access the water right from property.
Bus runs by every half hour or hour depending on the time of day.
Make your selves at home except if you smoke. If you smoke please smoke outside away from the house. Since it is newly remodeled, dogs will have to be approved.
The home was as advertised, nicely appointed and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything in the home was amenable and views are fantastic. Having the sauna and hot tub were nice after a long day out hiking, kayaking, or boating. It was perfectly located for our needs. Carolyn was very helpful in answering our Juneau vacation questions and was easy to communicate with. We would stay there again for sure and really appreciate Carolyn's hospitality.
Carolyn and her house were terrific. There was plenty of space for two couples plus 5 kids, and it could have accommodated more. The living room has a majestic view looking over Gastineau Channel, complete with soaring bald eagles. The kitchen is very nice, and easy to work in and use.
Moreover, Carolyn was very responsive and clearly cared about our comfort and happiness.
Our extended family stayed simultaneously in the house immediately next door, owned by the Mosers, so I'll say here what I also said in my review of that lovely home: The house is only a short distance from the Juneau-Douglas bridge, making it perfectly positioned to get to any and everything in Juneau within minutes, yet giving us an ideal home base with a terrific view.
The look of the neighborhood is not snooty, high-falutin'. The homes are nice and upscale, but they have a comfortable lived-in quality, with pick-ups and boats in driveways. The friend of a friend who works for the state and lives farther north on Douglas Island in a more remote region warned us when he drove past before we arrived that there is a radio tower very close by and visible, no doubt, from the windows. Yes, there is, but we hardly noticed it, and it did nothing to detract from the gorgeous view and our awesome time. In fact, the tower is a draw for bald eagles, so we spent plenty of time just gazing over at the cross bars where multiple eagles would routinely perch. In short, it's a very livable, lovely spot and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there.
We would heartily recommend Carolyn and her home to anyone.

I am from Juneau Alaska. I like to run, ski, hike, mountain bike but like to have a good meal with nice wine after my activities. I am married with two teenage sons. I am a civil environmental engineer with the State of Alaska. I enjoy Alaska and its wild places but also love to travel to see other places and meet people.
