The space
The Boathouse is (as the name suggests) an old timber boathouse which has been sensitively converted into a home retaining period character and charm.
Main room: open plan living space with wood burning stove, two arm chairs, 3 seater sofa and dining table and bench set to seat up to 8. There is also a storage chest and small cupboard. Double doors open out onto a sun deck with sea views. The living room has a flat screen smart TV with Netflix and other on-demand services available.
Kitchen: Through the main room is a fully fitted kitchen with electric oven & induction hob, microwave, full size fridge / freezer, full size dishwasher and washing machine.
Master Bedroom: Kingsize Bed with storage and beautiful double doors with a view out over fields to the sea.
Ensuite: Toilet and basin accessible from the master bedroom.
Second Bedroom: Two single beds with ample storage and two large sash windows overlooking the garden.
Bathroom: Brand new bath with shower, basin vanity storage and toilet.
Garden: Fully enclosed garden with newly laid lawn and areas of planting. Outdoor table and lounge chairs as well as a BBQ are kept in the shed.
Private off-road parking: Driveway for one car. If bringing more than one car, please keep the second car parked outside the village on the road above the cliff path to keep the parking in the village free for residents and farm vehicles.
Guest access
The entire property and the garden are available to guests.
Other things to note
As we work with our service providers to keep them and our guests safe during the Covid-19 crisis we have had to adjust our check-in & check-out times to allow for additional cleaning. Check-in is now after 6pm and check-out before 9am.
As our lawn is newly laid, it is important that we keep it well fed and watered. Our gardener Nick will visit weekly. Please give him the space to work. We will let you know the day he will be visiting during your stay.
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included but please bring your own beach towels.
The garden is fully enclosed and wonderful for children, but please note:
- there is no guard rail on the decking
- there are steep steps to the top lawn from the front of the property
- there is a 4 foot drop on one side of the top lawn. A slopped bank at the back of the property gives easier access to the top lawn.
We have children ourselves who love running around the garden, but we want to make sure parents are aware of this before booking.
Dog are welcome if you want to bring a dog there will be an additional charge of £25 per dog. Please let us know and we will add the fee to your reservation after booking.
The Boathouse is of wooden construction, and properties in the village are thatched. BBQs pose a fire risk, so we ask guests not to BBQ on the property.
Our closest beach, Porthbeor, can only be accessed by boat. The cliff path is not usable.
