I love walking around my neighborhood and looking at the old architecture. I love the fun color schemes that people have used to paint their houses. There are lots of artists, writers, musicians in the neighborhood so it has a fun, creative spirit.
Plenty of free parking on the street (but don't leave valuables in the car). About 20-30 minutes from the airport by cab ($30-40). Bus stop is one block away, and a streetcar is coming soon (also one block away). Great area to rent and ride bikes. I have lived in New Orleans all of my life, and I love hosting people who come to the enjoy the city. I also love to travel - and I travel in a very comfortable, modest style. I love camping and canoeing. I am an artist and I work in technology.
