Interaction with Guests
I'll be around but we might not see each other much due to the private set up. I'll be available if you need anything!
I love walking around my neighborhood and looking at the old architecture. I love the fun color schemes that people have used to paint their houses. There are lots of artists, writers, musicians in the neighborhood so it has a fun, creative spirit.
One block from bus stop; taxi to French Quarter about $10.
Other Things to Note
I have three cats who come in and out of my house, but they don't go into your space.
enjoy your stay here! and just be respectful of the neighbors - if you want to have a party or something else that might impact the neighbors, just let me know and we'll see what we can work out! And please, no smoking or cats in the apartment.
Leslie was great! We arrived at the apartment early afternoon and the keys were exactly where expected, the beds were set up, and the apartment was spotless. We were able to walk to the French Quarter (it's about a 30 minute walk) and felt safe in the apartment after dark. Leslie gave us plenty of privacy and we actually only saw her once, though it was obvious how sweet she was just from that one interaction. If you are looking for a unique and safe spot to stay in New Orleans, I would definitely book Leslie's apartment. All three of us are looking forward to staying here again!
This was such a cute place to stay! Location was great, and room was well kept! The bathroom and shower were attached to the main house so you do have to walk outside to use them. The bed is a fold down as well so if you have 4 people it would be a tight squeeze on the beds! Overall a great experience!
Leslie's place was great- exactly as described. The room itself was very clean, with good light. Plenty of blankets, pillows and towels available. The courtyard looked great, though it rained for most of our visit, so we didn't spend much time there. The location was easy enough to get to all the places you want to go in New Orleans. Leslie was great, responded quickly to comments/questions and made herself available. Would highly recommend and would stay again!
the little converted garage was quite comfortable; I particularly liked the neighborhood in which the accommodation is located and its proximity to the French Quarter although I think the Bywater neighborhood is more typical on New Orleans than the French Quarter.
The one drawback to the accommodations is the outside location of the bathroom and shower facilities........inconvenient and uncomfortable especially in bad or chilly weather plus the lack of an
indoor water source inside the main accommodation.
My visit was however enjoyable and I liked discovering the feel and ambiance of New Orleans
Leslie was very flexible with my late arrival time. Her place was quiet, warm, and cozy....even in the middle of Mardi Gras activities going on around. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location was great and very convenient for access to the French Quarter and the Warehouse Distrcit, where I was attending a conference. I would definitely stay here again if I visited New Orleans.
This rental was much more interesting than the previous Airbnb rental we stayed in. The decor is fresh and unique, and kind of gets you in the mood for the New Orleans experience, which is one of fun and artistry. Being young and open minded, the 'converted garage' which is comfortable and well supplied, made an ideal headquarters during Mardi Gras, but even if you just want somewhere tranquil to stay, it would be ideal for that too. It is only a ten minute walk from the French Quarter, and we had no problem finding it in the dark on our way home, and even after a few drinks.
We really enjoyed and found useful the 'review door' where other travellers had left useful tips on the city.
Leslie was respectful of our privacy and was even kind enough to message us and offer to lend us cold weather gear when unexpected chilly weather descended on the morning of a parade.
Thanks for making our NOLA stay so great Leslie!
I have lived in New Orleans all of my life, and I love hosting people who come to the enjoy the city. I also love to travel - and I travel in a very comfortable, modest style. I love camping and canoeing. I am an artist and I work in technology.
