I love walking around my neighborhood and looking at the old architecture. I love the fun color schemes that people have used to paint their houses. There are lots of artists, writers, musicians in the neighborhood so it has a fun, creative spirit.
One block from bus stop; taxi to French Quarter about $10.
Other Things to Note
I have three cats who come in and out of my house, but they don't go into your space.
enjoy your stay here! and just be respectful of the neighbors - if you want to have a party or something else that might impact the neighbors, just let me know and we'll see what we can work out! And please, no smoking or cats in the apartment.
Leslie's garage apartment was perfect for a weekend in Nola! When I arrived there was tons of parking on the block, (the only thing I was worried about haha). Ample space in the apartment supplied with microwave, mini fridge, Keurig, TV, dinner table, hand written notes/letters on restaurants and bars around town. It's a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter from the apartment, which would probably be fantastic during the fall; too hot during the summer and about an $8-10 Uber ride. I plan on booking again with Leslie in the fall! Definitely recommend it.
I emailed Leslie to let her know I had arrived. She wrote back promptly, and several times during my stay she wrote to ask if there was anything I needed. I regret we did not meet in person, but she did a great job of keeping me supplied with necessities.
The fact that Leslie's rental is in Bywater was attractive to me, and made my stay more enjoyable. I used to live in NOLA and I had no interest in the French Quarter tourism stuff. Bywater is quite the modern hippie/artist enclave; I'd have missed out on it if I had stayed at some chain hotel.
A gold star to the window air conditioner in the garage apartment. August in NOLA is hot and temperatures outside hit triple digits almost every day of my stay, but the apartment remained comfortable.
Next time I want to visit NOLA, Leslie's apartment is the first thing I will try to get.
Beautiful quaint little neighborhood with charming houses. Leslie's accompdation reminded me of a place I stayed in Bali a few months ago. A mini paradise equipped with everything one can ever need. I didn't get a chance to actually meet Leslie, but she was very helpful and quick with responding to my messages. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back again.
The place was beautiful and homey. It had all the amenities we needed for our stay, and was a short ride to the Quarter and all the excitement. We met Leslie in the morning and she was very friendly. I absolutely loved the place and would definitely stay there again if we ever return to New Orleans.
We really enjoyed our stayed here. Leslie was a fantastic host! The location is great to, very close to cool restaurants and bars and not to mention the very cool neighbourhood. I spent some time just walking the streets in the area and seeing the colourful houses. I highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to travel to New Orleans. Leslie was also great at giving us some pointers on what places to visit. Will definitely come and stay here when I travel there next!
Awesome place! Close to everything! All the amenities you need to stay one night or several days! Highly recommend!
We had a great time at Leslie's place! Easy and carefree location with no problems parking and we were able to walk to an amazing breakfast place (prent street station? Something like that). Also walking distance to Frenchman. Check in was easy and I enjoyed the cool funky place. I will warn those of you who are not from the south that it gets very hot here in the summer! No way around it. So the apartment is a little warm (it's a renovated garage) but I had expected that so I didn't mind. Anyways, great experience and enjoyed my stay, thanks Leslie for having us!
Hi Katrina! I'm sorry you were hot! I went and checked the AC, and the filter needed to be cleaned. The guests in there now say it's been fine, but I'm glad you let me know so that I could check it out. It does get HOT down here! But the AC is suppose to keep it cool enough. Thanks again for your comments!
