The Space

THIS PROPERTY CAN BE RENTED TOGETHER WITH THE UPPER HOUSE TO MAKE A SPACIOUS TWO BEDROOM RENTAL. See other listing on Airbnb. Casa Caramba is a gorgeous ocean view one bedroom home and studio apartment, completed 3 years ago. This uniquely crafted home was custom designed and built by the owner, with artistic details and accents throughout. It is colorful, beautifully decorated, and immaculate. Located in the north beach residential neighborhood of lovely homes, the house sits 100 feet above the beach. It takes approx. three minutes to walk to the beach, and approx a 10-12 minute walk to the main plaza. There are restaurants and food markets approx 5 minutes walk away. Both units include maid service (every 3-4 days), drinking water, wireless internet, wall safe for your valuables, gas grill, beach chairs, and beach umbrella. Each offers high quality bed linens, towels, and feather pillows. There is an enormous water holding tank, so there are never any concerns about running out of water when the town is having water pumping problems. As well there is an on-demand hot water system in place - so lots of hot water any time you need it. All rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. All windows are screened. The property is owner managed and very secure. No smoking is allowed inside under roof. This house is lovingly maintained with attention to detail.

The ground floor one bedroom studio has it's own private entrance. In the bedroom there is a queen size bed, that looks out on to the patio and the ocean beyond. There is a fully furnished kitchenette with small refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffeemaker, double hot plate, toaster oven, etc. As well on the patio there is a gas grill. There is plenty of storage, a closet, and a small desk area. There is a small TV and DVD player with a selection of movies. The bathroom is large, colorful and features custom tile work throughout. The bedroom opens out onto an outside patio under a palapa roof, with comfortable lounge chairs and a dining area, as well as an ocean view. It is private and completely separate from the upper house. There is off street parking.

Casa Caramba is the epitome of tropical coastal living; imagine your bronzed body relaxed on the sofa after a fun day on the beach, sipping a margarita under the palapa roof as the sun sets over the Pacific....the palm and higuera trees bathed in pastel colors, the wash of the golden surf relaxing your total being....the jungle comes alive with it's nightly song of geckos and crickets, as the village lights appear across the bay, along with the first stars. The jasmine-scented breeze and soft music from the village alert your senses and it's time to stroll into town to dine on incredible shrimp chile rellenos or fish tacos, more tequila, some live salsa music.... and then a lazy walk back to su casa along the beach.......Hmmmm.....day after day......this could be your vacation!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We had an awesome time at Casa Caramba. Jorge (property manager) was very accommodating and allowed us to checkin early / checkout late. We found the house to be very nice and clean. It's well located in a quiet neighbourhood (trust me, this is a major advantage Vs living closer to "downtown"). Beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler were available to guests. Wifi was better than in other places we've been although it is slow and lagging compared to what we have at home... The house shows in the water on AirBnB's map, but it's truly located just a 3-4 minutes walk to the beach and approximately 10 minutes to downtown.

  • Charming studio, fabulous views. My favorite part was hearing the ocean at night, and with the ocean breeze we didn't even need the fans. I also appreciated the relatively stocked kitchen- we used the blender for pina coladas and fruit smoothies, coffee maker and cups, and the barbeque to grill fresh fish. I also appreciated having a safe. Well located and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this.

  • My husband and I spent a lovely week relaxing in Sayulita. Craig's house was in a great location, close to the beach, restaurants and shops, but far from the noise of the village. We loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the surf and jungle birds. The studio was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Jorge, the manager was very responsive and helpful. It was a fantastic get-away spot!

  • Regina's condo is truly one-of a kind and tucked far enough in the hills to feel secluded but close enough to easily walk into town. The unit is very small but so well-designed that you hardly notice.

It is definitely a one-of-a-kind place that I would recommend to any couple.

  • Such a great little place! It is perfect for a couple. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was very cozy and had all of the necessities. It was close to everything, but is up a pretty steep road, so we rented a golf cart and it made life a lot easier (getting groceries etc). I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Response from Craig:

Thank you Brodie and Lindsey for the great review. However, I would like to clarify that the road to the house is really not very steep, and that section is very short. Easy to walk if you like to walk. 99% of my guests have not needed a car or cart, and have not even mentioned any difficulty. I just don't want to give the wrong impression!

  • The Casa Caramba studio was one of the cutest places I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of cute places! The tile work was gorgeous, it was beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. I liked the location on the north side of town. It was close to the quieter side of the beach, where you could lay out in peace, but only a few minutes walking distance to the busier area. There are a lot of good restaurants on the north side of town if you don't feel like crossing the bridge and going to the area around the plaza. Highly recommend this place!

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely time in the studio at Casa Caramba. The space was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and secluded but not isolated. In addition, both the owner and manager were incredibly helpful. All of the information provided both before and during our stay made sure we got the most out of our first trip to Sayulita. We also had some issues with our luggage, and were so grateful for the manager's help with those issues. We could not have been happier with our decision to stay here during our trip to Sayulita!

  • I stayed at the studio for 3 nights at the end of May. It is such a well appointed and relaxing place – the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with the basics, the bathroom and shower quite lovely, and the palapa-covered porch the perfect spot to eat breakfast or relax with a book. And the less-crowded north-end beach was just a short walk down the hill. My favorite things above all were the cute geckos on the walls, and the large iguana that lumbered by!

Regina is a kind and thoughtful host, and I happily recommend staying at her place.

  • The studio is such a nice place to stay, we were expecting ways less and were overwhelmed by the quality and the details the studio is set up. Everything you need is there, we had a nice breakfast every day on the terrace, listening to the ocean (we actually ended almost all the days the same way). Regina provides towels and an umbrella and even beach chairs, and the walk to the beach is very short. The part of the town where the apartment is located is very quiet, the beach is quiet es well. If you want more action its a short walk down the beach, they offer surfing lessons, horseback-riding,boat & fishing trips and so on. I also enjoyed a massage directly on the beach, in summary it was a very, very relaxing short vacation for me an my husband. I can highly recommend the apartment, Sayulita has something to offer as well, but if you are looking for a great variety of things to do it might become boring after a few days.

  • Great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable, minutes walk to the beach. I would choose to stay here over a hotel any day. Regina was very sweet and accommodating. Would definately recommend!

I bought Casa Caramba after numerous vacations with my sons to Sayulita. We fell in love with the town and this property. It is owner managed, lovingly cared for, with great attention to detail. My assistant, Camille, and I are there for our guests 24/7 as needed. I can offer lots of advice on what to do and where to eat, and other tips for an enjoyable vacation.
