At least during the time beeing here. We want you to feel most comftable, so we don't really believe in boarding school kind of house-rules
I simply trust that the people who choose and stay with us, come, because they like the way the studio looks.
Why would they want to mess with it?
If you smoke, go sit in the yard on the gazebo. There are pillows and if it gets cold, crab a blanket. Sometimes if you don't mind, we will join u......
My stay in this adorable studio was everything I had hoped it would be and much more. Every part of staying here was great, but the #1 most impressive and special thing about the stay was my hosts -- Claudia and Francesca were unbelievably awesome and cool and welcoming and kind. Every day, they went the extra mile to make me feel at home, and I am so grateful.
The studio itself is a great size, with an efficient little kitchen and all supplies you need to cook, along with a little fridge. It's super cute and stylish, with cement floors, area rugs, cute furniture and a comfortable queen sized bed. The bathroom is adorable, tho as noted in previous reviews, it's only separated from the bedroom area by a half-wall -- I didn't have a problem with this, but those who are worried about privacy while on the toilet should be aware. :) Wifi was super-fast, and they have every TV channel imaginable, as well as a DVD player. And the garden? Is GORGEOUS. A total oasis. The gazebo is beautiful and relaxing to sit and work in. The whole outdoors space is just stunning.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Claudia and Francesca. Again, there is NO WAY they could be better hosts, and the space. It's also centrally located, especially for Hollywood, Downtown and the East Side. WELL worth the price. An equivalent space in a hotel would easily be $400/night. And you wouldn't get to meet Claudia OR Francesca!
Seventeen thumbs up.
I am not a fan of dogs. And on the first day, their dog came running into my bedroom. No brownie points there. The room has two beautiful sets of French doors. But, due to the abundance of bugs, including a spider that had made a nice home for itself in a corner directly above the bed, I kept all the doors and windows shut at all times. No brownie points there. The shower had no toiletries nor hand towels, but the host was able to provide shampoo upon request, and I used the bath towel as a hand towel. The shower water is scalding hot, so you will need to turn it to the lowest setting (and thus give up the powerful water pressure). Despite these un-comfortabilities, the host was nice, and took the time to help me get acquainted with how to get in/out of the property. She also provided me with a garage gate opener, so that I was able to park in the driveway, instead of on the street. The bedroom itself has a lot of character (influenced by Spanish style), so it is a "unique" place to stay. I would only recommend this place if you are staying alone; if you are staying with a 2nd guest, then it may be awkward, because the bathroom does not have a privacy door (this is not obvious in the photos).
Since we provide plenty of bath towels it never occurred to me to provide small hand towels as well, but I will take that into consideration.
There is always hand soap and if guests ask for shampoo, like you did, we provide it.
Abundance of bugs in winter? 1 spider?
There are screens on the bedroom windows, just not on the french doors.
We will check on the shower temperature
The location was perfect and the couple was extremely accommodating and kind. They let us park in their driveway and even did our laundry! I definitely recommend this spot and would love to come black next time I am in Los Angeles.
Claudia was absolutely amazing and 100% hospitable. The studio was adorable, convenient, and made to feel right at home. Would absolutely stay here again! XO
We loved our stay at Claudia's guest house. It was clean, organized and modern. The open concept layout made the space feel roomy and bright. Claudia is very welcoming and accessible, we would certainly stay here again!
Great hosts, garden (!) and studio, a bit cold at night if you come in the winter, but we had a wonderful stay!
Beautiful space and interior. Quick Uber/Lyft ride to great places in Koreatown and Silverlake. Only thing to note is the shower isn't comfortable for tall folks and you don't get much privacy in the bathroom.
My name is Claudia and I was born in Germany.
I came to Los Angeles 23 years ago as a student at Art Center College if Design.
My major was photography. Today I own a production company with my partner and the last project we shot was a awareness campaign to safe the big cats.
We are also working on a doc. about a women who was part of Andy Warhols Factory.
I have always enjoyed traveling and love meeting people.
Airbnb is fantastic, we have met wonderful people, some of them have become our friends. We love to go surfing and who ever wants to go can use our boards, for the
the little ones we also have some boogie boards in the garage.
Since we are Filmmakers and part of Film Independent there are always a lot of interesting movies flying around our house, which we like to share ;-)
