About this listing
West hollywood is known for it's safety, cleanliness, convenience, as well as having the highest percentage of human rights per capita.
This is a townhouse in a landmark building; and therefor has maintained it's authentic and elegant condition. This beautiful townhouse has windows with garden or tree top views in every room, including the bathroom, which has my favorite view.
The property is lush with gardens, flowers, and greenery, as well as an Orange Tree, Jasmine tree, and my favorite, the amazingly vibrant view from my office and bathroom of the Landmark Ficus Tree.
Office is peaceful and has an abundant amount of desk space. (If needed there is a queen sized pull out couch in the office that can be used as a guest bed)
The bedroom has a TV and CA king size bed. I always leave dresser space, as well as room in the closet to hang cloths.
All furniture is qualitative, hand picked, esthetically pleasant, and thoughtfully selected.
The CA-King bed with a mattress for a King, lots of pillows, high quality linens, and the bedroom has a Hepa air filter, for the air that you breath.
My wish is to create a place where one can sleep like an angel, write like Frank O'Hara, watch endless movies, spend the day at home or in the office, or return from your day to a cozy peaceful home.
Several writers have mentioned that the muse visits them when they have written in my home.
My entire townhouse has unique and historic charm and is yours for the time of your stay. You will have to search to find a place with this kind of charm in LA.

The apartment is nice and well maintained. The 2 levels separation (living room downstairs, bedroom upstairs) is both very nice and very useful. Surrounding gardens offers the distinct feeling of a "home" :) Same goes for the interior decorations, and material used: they all whisper "home" :)
This location is definitely in my top 10 while in LA
The location is one of the best in west hollywood, the duplex is super clean, well decorated, everything you need is right there and it's super quiet. In less than 5 minutes walk you can find some grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shop without using your car (which is incredible in Los Angeles)..
It was for me a perfect experience and Shannah is incredibly nice and for sure I will come back again..
Great neighborhood, loved our cozy duplex right in the heart of West Hollywood. Shannah made sure to make us feel welcome and answer any kind of questions we had. Would definitely stay here again.
This place was truly amazing. Even though it was off a busy street, it's tucked away in a private garden and so its peaceful and quiet. The place is big and spacious with the loveliest decoration and furniture. A real gem. Shannah is a great host who will check in with you to see if you need anything and make sure you're comfortable and happy.
Overall, great location, beautiful place, and a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Thought I would only need a week...ended up staying a month! A truly beautiful, unique, comfortable apartment with everything you need..TV, Wifi, Parking. A great location in beautiful West Hollywood - one block's walk to Starbucks, Whole Foods, and a short drive to anything else you might want. A very responsive, caring and understanding host. Really, an awesome place!
While I'm sure many airbnb'ers may overstate their accommodations, Shannah is remarkably different. Her centrally located West Hollywood apartment condo is one of the best places I've seen in the area (and I lived there for 8 years).
It was built in the 20's when Hollywood was just starting to shine. And unlike many properties from that time that we just razed and rebuilt, this fantastic courtyard cluster of 2 story homes thankfully survived. If you've never been to LA, definitely look for these courtyard buildings which are architectural landmarks, and her entire building is registered as a historic property. (Remember "Melrose Place" the Fox series? It's that, but without all they cat-fights and hair pulling.)
That's not to suggest at all that her place isn't modern. Recessed, and all dim-able lighting, two (or was it three?) flatscreen TVs, heat/AC (which these buildings didn't originally have necessarily), and so much audio that I didn't bother with-- i just decided to soak it all in and hum to myself....
Because her place was just so peaceful. Situated by two major roadways (so I knew it would be convenient), I was surprised that her place was so peaceful. But it was. Its nestled behind a gate and is between two courtyards, one opening to the front door, the other to the back. And in case you have work to do, rather than humming and lounging all day, the second bedroom is outfitted to be an office.
This was my first AirBnB experience, and she met me to walk through the place. That completely put my "living in someone else's place" fears to rest. Shannah has a fantastic way about her, but don't worry: If she's not available to welcome you herself, her assistant will. and she's as genuine and accessible as Shannah.
I've read a lot of these recommendations, and I discount the overly flowery descriptions for the most part. But this really was my experience and the next time I need a place in LA, I'll see if hers is available and skip the browsing around. I enjoyed it that much.
My second stay in this absolutely gorgeous home. Can't recommend more highly next time it's on the market.

Originally a New Yorker, it was tough to find a charming home in Los Angeles.
After a long search, when I saw this place, I grabbed it fast.
Sharing art and the great things in life with others is what I love to do.
So therefor I am so thankful to have this opportunity to share my home.
A Landmark building, east and west garden views , Jasmine and orange trees, plants and wild flowers, and a quite stunning window view of a Landmark ficus tree.
