Good place, Cheryl is very helpull, a little bit far from center, but everything was correct for the price
This room will work well for those that have a bit more time in Phnom Penh and want to spend some time away from the more touristy areas of the capital. The house is located on a quiet residential street with a large local market nearby. The area is also a hub for Cambodian BBQ restaurants. It's unlikely that you will see foreigners.
I personally liked the neighborhood. While I was there there was a 3 day wedding taking place next door. I was invited inside while I walked past and witnessed something fairly rare for short term visitors to the country to experience. I was also able to play checkers with a sweet old man in a small cafe and speak with a local music association down the street.
There were some small problems that occurred in the house while I was there (broken locks, e.g.), but Cheryl was attentive and quick to remedy them. She's best reached by phone.
The room is pretty basic, but it was clean. I received an entire 5 gallon container of water when I checked in, which was quite nice to have actually. I did wish the two windows permitted a view other than the walls of the neighboring buildings and allowed more light into it. But it just provides more incentive to walk or bike around and explore the area. There's also a kitchen available in the house if you want to do some basic cooking. There's a nice balcony, but I found that between the heat, noise, mosquitos, and lack of electricity, wifi, or company, it wasn't a place that I wanted to ever sit for too long.
Wifi in the room was excellent though. As was the AC.
So in the end, I would say that if you have only two days in the capital, this probably isn't the place for you because it's further away from all of the tourist sites than most accommodation options. However, if you have some more time and you want to explore an interesting little neighborhood away from the hubbub, this might work well for you.
We had a nice, short stay. There is a large supply of bottled water in the room, which is nice to have. A bit far from city center, but you can hire a motorbike or tuk-tuk for $2 - $3 USD to city center (one way). There are restaurants nearby and you can even have some street food for less than $1 USD. Fast and reliable WiFi! Thank you. :)
nice quiet clean place
Our stay with Cheryl was great! The room was clean and comfortable, and we loved the kitchen in the terrace upstairs. Cheryl was very nice and helpful in giving su directions and tips on how to move around Phnom Pehn.
We had a great time at Cheryl's place. We had a warm welcoming from Cheryl. The area was quite and a bit remote from the center (20min by bicycle) which was great for us because more authentic and peaceful. The room was comfortable. We enjoyed a lot the roof top and meeting all the people of the house. There were all the facilities that we needed: kitchen, fridge, space, water, laundry,... A really good place to visit PH PH...
This was my first experience with using Airbnb, and Cheryl made my whole stay in Phnom Penh a wonderful one. She really went out of her way and took her time to help me get acclimated to the city and the area surrounding the home. I really appreciated everything she did for me. The other guests in the house are all very diverse and welcoming, each having their own unique story as well. The room was very clean and comfortable with a private bathroom and Internet. It is easy to find a tuk-tuk or moto (cheaper) to any area of the city you want. I can't say enough, it was really a great stay, and I hope all hosts on Airbnb are as welcoming and caring as Cheryl.
cheap place close to the city. Cheryl was great. Internet was a bit lacking and our toilet wasn't always working, but everything else in the room was great. The balcony on top was a great view of the city and hang our laundry.
Great value for this spacious, quiet, clean room in a lovely house with all conveniences in Tuol Kork. Cheryl is a fantastic host who really puts your comfort first and is quick to react ot any inquiries, needs or wishes you may have. Phnom Penh doesn't get any better than this!
Apartement was very nice and clean. It is very close to the market and street is quiet.
Cheryl was waiting for us at the airport and showed us the place. I recommend this place for your stay in the capital of Cambodia.
