Because the apartment is cut into the natural sandstone rock - there is generally a different climate - cooler than outside in summer & warmer than outside in winter. It can be a humid in the apartment after rain however we have two dehumidifiers if the humidity becomes uncomfortable.
The natural sandstone rock is designed to allow the ground water that naturally comes out of the rock run down over the face of the sandstone and drains to a catchment drain where it is pumped away to the outside. A pump system is also used to remove the shower, toilet, kitchen & washing machine waste water to the outside drainage and system.
In times of heavy rain - the apartment may not be the best choice for those who suffer from Asthma.
Bondi Beach - is located 4 minutes walk
Tamarama Beach - is located 3 minute walk
Bronte Beach - is located 10 minutes walk
We have boogie boards & flippers for you to borrow along with soft surfbaords for those more adventurous to try stand up surfing - we recommend Bondi Beach for surfing as it is by far the safest of the 3 local beaches and is patrolled by professional lifeguards all year around.

All the best
We had a marvellous time at John's place. Everything is decorated with so much love. My favourite piece is the wooden whale. John is the perfect host. We will surely go back again.
If you love being close to Bondi Beach, but nevertheless be private without to many people around ya, this is the place you should stay.
Great Locations and Great Host. Would definitely recommend to others.
Will be back soon.
We were just happy and greatful for having found the perfect place to stay for our family (2 adults, 2 small schildren). Everything we needed or asked for was provided and even more. John and his family were wonderful, perfect hosts, who made us feel very much at home, especially our kids who rather wanted to stay with the Fallons...The appartment is spacious, great kitchen and good double bed. We loved the atmosphere of the sandstone. Perfect bus connection to anywhere we wanted to go, great cafe, restaurant and shopping possibilities in walking distance. Spent time at very close Bondi and Tamarama Beach where we could walk easily even with our small kids. We would LOVE to come back...
Great location and helpful host was a very relaxing place to stay.
All went according to plan. Enjoyed the cave especially the giant bean bags and the fold out beds are the best ever!!! Quality appointments were appreciated.
Our stay was wonderful at John's house. Its conveniently located near 2 beautiful beaches and the bus is just steps outside. The giant beanbag was fun to hang out on and the place is very roomy. There is an excellent coffee shop and restaurant directly across the street which I believe sold one of the best lattes I have ever had. John was very kind to let us leave our luggage at his home due to our plane arriving so early in the morning when we first arrived. We were able to enjoy our first day in Sydney without having to carry our bags around. I would highly recommend this bnb.
John was an excellent host. I missed my flight and was one day late and he could not have been more accommodating. John is a wonderful host that provides great service and amenities while letting me relax and do my own thing. The listing had more than I needed, incredibly comfortable bed and modern amenities throughout. Highly recommended and will definitely return next time I make time for a visit to beautiful Bondi Beach.
My sister and I spent two nights in John's lovely bnb. It had a prime position close to beaches, restaurants and a wonderfull walking path along the cliffs.
The bus also passes by the front door, so access to the city was easy.
I'd highly recommend John's bnb as he was a friendly and welcoming host. An ideal place for a Summer 'getaway'.
Our family had a great time spending our time in Sydney right in the middle of things at Bondi Beach. We visited during the sculptures by the sea and found ourselves exploring thee unique structures while hiking on the dramatic coastal walk. The apartment was also very close to central Sydney so we took in all the Sydney favourites. As soon as we arrived we were met by our enthusiastic hosts, John and Will, who gave us the "insider" travel guide to the city. Our 11 and 8 year old boys were in heaven with the ping pong table, "love sack" (man sized bean bag), and unique surroundings highlighting the stone basement. Thanks John for the great experience.
We stayed here the first week in November. A perfect place to explore the area and when the weather is hot it stays cool.
John was very generous with his time and went out of his way to make out stay perfect.
