Furthermore, I can highly recommend to take a day trip and experience the beautiful Icelandic nature. Only a 10 min drive to the nearest mountain, perfect for hiking, and there are also family friendly hiking paths. We also have some great tour companies that do day tours from here.
To get here from Reykjavik there are domestic flights, you can take a bus or rent a car. I can also recommend a website for those looking to share a ride. The drive from Reykjavik is 388km and usually takes about 4-5 hours.
The drive from the local airport only takes about 8 minutes (ca. 4 km).
The apartment is for guests private use during their stay. Washroom is shared, guests are welcome to use the washer at any time during their stay, same goes for garden and deck.

Rakel's apartment is the perfect place to a stay when traveling in the area. It's walking distance to town and it's centrally located to the things to see in the area. Rakel takes extra steps to mKe your stay enjoyable and is very helpful when asking for recommendations on places to eat or things to do. We'd highly recommend staying here while in the area!
I very much enjoyed staying here! Rakel was there to welcome me, and very thoughtfully provided breakfast food for the morning. She was very helpful and friendly, and the apartment was just what I needed.
We spent one night at Rakel ´s place and it was nice. The apartment is comfy and ideally located downtown. The breakfast was a nice surprise as well and we had everything to make our stay enjoyable. I will definitely recommend to stay there for more than one night!
Rakel is a very nice and friendly host.
The apartment is very cosy and clean, everything in town is within walking distance and we found the fridge filled for our breakfast.
We had a wonderful stay at Rakel's lovely little apartment. Everything was as described, and my wife fell in love and begged to stay many more days.
I am sad that we didn't get a chance to meet Rakel, as she seems like an extremely cool woman, but unfortunately, she was called out of town before we arrived. No worries though: she left a key and arranged for a neighbor to greet us.
This place is ideally located within walking distance of anything you'd wish to do in town, the beds are very comfortable, and the blackout curtains are very effective. The breakfast the hostess thoughtfully provides is also excellent and a nice touch.
Rakel is one of the most enthusiastic host I ever met. That day when we informed her our bus was late, she even went out from the apartment to wait for us. She is so helpful and nice to make our stay very comfortable. The apartment is not so big, but good enough for four adluts. And the courtyard is a very nice place for a cup of coffee.
