House - Private room · Mosseveien, Oslo, Oslo 1169, Norway

- Private suite in a wooden, waterfront house in Oslo
- Only 12 minutes from the city centre
- Sitting room, two bedrooms, private bath and toilet

- Stunning views

The Space

What about a seafront suite that has a view of the Oslo Fiord, the islands surrounding Oslo, the city itself, and the famous Holmenkollen ski jump? From which you can step out on the balcony to enjoy a sundowner? Or venture into the garden and dip into the Oslo fiord in the summer season?

We are lucky enough to live in this great spot, right on the water, inside the city of Oslo, only 12 minutes by bus or car from the new Oslo Operahouse and the rest of the downtown area. We are happy to share this space with others, and rent out a suite on the house's first floor.

The space consists of
- a sitting room with a sleeper sofa,
- two bedrooms,
- a bath and
- a toilet.

Your sitting room is 20 square meters and furnished with a sofa, a sleeper sofa, a table and two chairs; a TV and DVD player; loudspeakers; and a refrigerator, microwave oven, waterboiler and coffee maker.

From the sitting room there is direct access to a private balcony.

There are two bedrooms (one large and one smaller), each with comfortable double beds.

There is a separate toilet and bathroom, the latter fitted with a bath tub. Fresh towels are provided.

The place is ideal for one, two, three or four persons. If there is a fifth person, an additional bed can be added (the sitting room is equipped with a sleeper sofa).

Free wireless internet.

Excellent opportunities for walking, jogging, running and fishing close to the house.

A full Norwegian breakfast can be served (NOK 100 pp). If you wish, we can also take care of your laundry for a small fee.

We speak the three Scandinavian languages + English, German, Spanish and Swahili.

Guest Access

Our guests have access to the apartment upstairs, our beautiful garden and the deck by the fjord.

Interaction with Guests

We invite our guests for a welcoming glass of wine, beer, coffee or tea, and we eat breakfast with our guests. If they instead prefer having served breakfast upstairs, we certainly fix that too!

The Neighborhood

The house is located in a neighborhood along the Oslo fjord. There are several beaches in the vicintiy of the house, and plenty of opportunites for walks and jogging along the sea.

Getting around

There are regular buses between the house and the centre of Oslo from early in the morning to late at night. Buses leave and arrive (literally) just a few steps away from the gate to the property. The travel time to down town Oslo is 12 minutes.

- The Airport Express Train departs frequently and takes you to Oslo Central Station in about 19 minutes.
- From just outside the central station there are buses to the house from early morning to late night. The ride takes 12 minutes. You get off the bus stop just a few steps away from the gate to our property.

Check In
  • I don't know what I should write that wouldn't have been written yet. Very good 1st airbnb experience, everything went according to plan, the suite is very clean, nicely decorated, the view is stunning. Very easy to access by bus (don't miss the bus at night, or just wait another hour, but that's because of my organisation skills only), checkin was more than easy !
I only met Truls, with whom I had the occasion to talk a lot about various topics, it was very enjoyable and interesting. The breakfast with kaviar over the top is also worth it! Thank you very much for everything!

  • This apartment was so lovely I could have spent the whole holiday there enjoying the view and the sun on the balcony. Situated right next to the fjord and getting the afternoon and evening sun (yes in March) on the balcony, it was heaven. I loved staying in this traditional wooden Norwegian house and I felt that I had a better deal all round than the many people who pay top notch for some of the exclusive expensive hotels in Oslo that were unlikely to be nearly as amazing. Great situation, excellent facilities, very easy to hop on bus into the centre of Oslo (10-12 mins journey). Very comfy bed. Immaculately clean and warm. There was a little bit of traffic noise from the road when the bedroom window was open but this did not disturb me at all and it is a city after all. I only met Truls and he was very welcoming, good company and very helpful. I would go back without a doubt.
Oslo was very expensive to eat out so I made the most of there being a fridge and microwave in the living room.

  • Staying at the place of Kare and Truls was our first airbnb experience and right away totally convinced us of this way to travel. The place absolutely fulfilled what it promised. It is a great apartment with plenty of room for four people, situated very convenient right next to the bus stop and with an amanzing view over the Oslofjord. Truls was a very kind host who made us feel totally welcome, prepared a great start into the day by serving a superb breakfast and provided us with a lot of useful information. We highly recommend this place and would love to be back one day.

  • This was my first airbnb experience and it was awesome. The location and view is beautiful, the rooms and host are really nice, and there was a cool hike in a park along the fjord a short distance away that the host recommended.

  • Wonderful experience! Exceptional host, great location. I cannot say enough great things about either. The travel tips for the area, provided by Truls and Kare, were invaluable. I would highly recommend and cannot wait until a return trip gives me the opportunity to stay here again.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Kåre & Truls in Oslo. The place was lovely, very comfortable and warm, and literally one step away from the bus stop. A beautiful property as well and they left a book of very helpful recommendations and information for navigating my time in Oslo. I would absolutely recommend staying with them and if ever in Oslo again will stay with them. Thanks for a great experience!

  • I could go on for pages about the experience of staying in this house, but I'll summarize it thusly: I ended up wishing to reside there permanently. Even in a world full of good places, the rooms and arrangement and view and host here just qualified for a rarefied level of wonderful.

  • We've had such a great time at Truls and Kore's house! Our hosts have been wonderful and without them our trip wouldn't have been such a great experience!
Truls and Kore are both fun, available for their guests, full of good advice and very witty!
we loved sharing conversations in front of a delicious savoury breakfast learning about the Norwegian culture with them!
We really hope they will come and visit us here in Bordeaux! as we'd love to receive them as well as they reveived us!
thank you again! and hope to see you again in 2014!!!

  • Very beautiful House right next to the Fjord, not even 15 min from the Center of Oslo.
    Bathroom with heated Floor, seperate Toilet, Living Room with nice wooden Balkony;
Coffee Machine, Refridgerator, TV, DVDPlayer. (Everything you need) :-)

The whole Appartement was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Kåre & Truls are nice hosts, who where very communicative & gave us tipps for spots we should vistit. The best thing for us, besides the nice Appartement was, that Kåre & Truls sended us Informations, how to get from the airport to the house, which Trains/Busses to take etc., which was very helpful.

Before we write a novel about our stay there:
11 Points on a Scale from 1 to 10. Thumbs up!

  • We just loved the apartment and our hosts! We stayed there two nights and it was better than any of the hotels we stayed at during our trip to Norway. I would only go back to Norway. If I could stay with them!
