Interaction with Guests
Living overseas we open up our house so you can discover why we kept our foot hold in Provence. I am available by email to prepare your arrival in our house but also to give you tips and tricks if you need. In the house, you will find our welcome booklet filled with practical information about the house and the city along with tourist leaflets. For your arrival one of my representatives will open up the house and give you all the details to best settle in. Her phone number and name will be provided closer to arrival.
I love my house location because it is in the heart of everything. Located within the historical walls which are 7km long everything is at hand's reach. If you need a grocery shop with international food or a typical French butcher, bakery or fresh produce market it is all there in quick stroll, even just a few steps away. 2 of our neighboors are nice restaurants. A chocolate shop with homemade high quality products, a small clothes designer store and wine shop are also there to help you pamper yourself and your laidback diner on our terrace.... that's what I call Life!
In the city center, our house is 500m from the train station "Avignon centre" where the train shuttle from the TGV station arrives. The international coach station is located in the premisces. The main highway acces is a 10minutes car ride and from there you can get to the Marseille airport in less than an hour.

Fantastic location and we couldn't have asked for anything more central. Our information from Perrine on arrival was incredibly helpful including great suggestions for buying food and restaurants as well as general directions for essentials.
The house had every appliance you could want and the kitchen very well appointed. I wish I had longer to take advantage of the various appliances and to cook and eat more of the local market produce.
Quiet at night and air conditioning and ceiling fans kept things comfortable as the weather was very hot (mid 30's C).
Perfect accommodation for a family of 4 with plenty of room to relax. A shame the weather was too hot to enjoy the terrace, but the BBQ was well used and appreciated.
Would absolutely highly recommend and return.
Many thanks, Alison and family
This is a lovely "townhouse" type of house in the historic area of Avignon, very convenient to sights and shopping, all walkable. Very clean and well furnished, with a wonderful kitchen, delightful patio and deck, and excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms. The owner's employee, who met us, is delightful and helpful. The house has 4 levels, with bedrooms on the 3rd and 4th floors, so is suitable only for those who can manage stairs. We would highly recommend this place, EXCEPT -- there are hidden charges not disclosed on the Airbnb listing!! We were shocked to be charged 10 euros per person for bed linen (!) and 5 euros each for towels (!), plus a 70 euro cleaning fee, PLUS "taxes" that are also not disclosed in the listing. No other property we rented in France has such charges, and Airbnb should not allow property owners to do this. For this reason, we recommend avoiding this property.
Thank you for your remarks regarding our property location and amenities. The optional charges on linen and house cleaning are and have always been stated in the additional remarks section of the detailed house description section. Thus I am surprised of your comment about not recommending our property for hidden charges.
Our house is a licensed property and rated by the tourism authorities as a 4*, thus unfortunately cities taxes apply. This charge is also listed on the additional remarks section of the detailed house description section.
Thanks for your feedback, Solene.
Given a warm welcome even though late arriving. The house is in a fantastic central location just off the main road in a quiet secluded courtyard. The house has every amenity and the kitchen has every appliance known to man. The rooftop garden terrace is fabulous.
The response from Solene to a problem was quick and effective.
The perfect holiday home for Avignon.
Very nice house-- great location in city center (walk to everything), very spacious and comfortable. Host communicated with us very well throughout the process. Definitely recommend this.
We had a car, so the parking space is great, but the entrance to the parking area is very tight, and cars parking outside can make access even tighter. But medieval cities weren't designed for cars, so it's always going to be difficult to have a car in a city like Avignon.
The location of the house is excellent (close to major attractions and the central train station); the house is clean, spacious, charming, and very well-equipped (with all kinds of kitchen utensils, etc.) and corresponds with the description; the representatives of the host are very kind and patient, taking good care of us during our stay. All of us enjoyed staying in this sweet, home-like house very much and each of us found something especially delightful in the house: some liked the comforting feeling of stepping on the old tiles with bare foot, some loved the balcony with windows overlooking it, and our baby found climbing up the stairs her favorite pastime while staying in the house!
The location was very central in historic old town, right next to the ancient church of St. Didier (you can go to mass at 7.30 every morning). The property is excellent and has a good atmosphere. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location.
About the Host, Solene
I love to travel and experience other lifestyles. I studied and worked in the US Midwest where I got my accent from. (Wisconsin state of my heart!).
As years go by I discover the world and its different culture and ways of life. But Avignon and Provence remain rooted in me. I open up my house to you so you too can discover this city's wonders.
Enjoy a breakfast in your pyjamas after 10am or lounge on our terrasse endlessly recreating the world under the shade of our wild vine tree. Its the Provence way.
Talk to you soon!!!
