Treat yourself to a true Maine camp experience. Sip coffee on the dock; watch the loons; go for a swim or paddle; feast on s'mores at the fire pit. Cottage sleeps 4, with additional beds in the bunkhouse for a per person fee.
The main house has a full kitchen, dining area, living room, screened porch, first floor bedroom w/queen bed, and two loft rooms, each with a single bed. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.
If your group is larger than four people, we have a "bunkhouse" across the yard from the main house for an additional fee. This really cute building has one set of bunk beds, and a loft space above. All the bunkhouse mattresses are the air type.
All the floors are hand-painted, some with stencils or stripes.
Every room has wonderful water views.
The camp is surrounded by woods, but has a sunny, level yard. Perfect for badminton! The pond is small and quiet - motorized boats are limited to slow putt-putt types. The water is great for swimming, and a favorite of kayakers & canoeists.
A few days here means enjoying the call of loons, croaking bullfrogs, the whir of hummingbirds, privacy, and fun in the water.
New this year, we've added electrical outlets in the two loft rooms. Next up, the bunkhouse will get power. (PS it already gets WiFi and has a battery-operated lamp).
Guests may use the dock, kayak and canoe.
We have a 2-1/2 acre lot, and the surrounding woods and views make it feel like we practically own the pond. Most of the other camps on the pond are also secluded and quiet.
Some of the "quaint" aspects of camp are:
There is no land telephone line. There is, however, WiFi, and we'll provide you with the password.
The kitchen ceiling is about 6'-3" high. The other ceilings are of average height.
Bugs, such as mosquitos, come out in the evening, but are generally manageable with bug spray --- hey, you're out in the Maine woods - what do you expect! :~)
Our water supply at the house comes from a small well, so we ask guests to be mindful of their water use in the kitchen and bathroom.

"My family and I stayed at this camp during the past summer (2013). The location on the lake is perfect, with a shallow sandy bottom where the kids had a blast. The dock was great for launching the canoes and kayaks. The lake itself was very peaceful and serene with wonderful views. There were numerous hiking trails within a few minutes drive of the camp. The house itself is quaint, very clean, and has a great screened in porch looking out on the lake. There is one bathroom which has a shower, toilet, and a sink. All were very clean. Upstairs are two bedrooms with large windows also looking out on the lake. Great view to wake up to. There is a general store as well as a local restaurant about a 5 min drive just up the road where you can get some essentials or grab a rather tasty meal. Overall our experience was absolutely wonderful and we are looking forward to another visit." -- Pete
Please enjoy everything the camp has to offer, and then clean up after yourself. When we return to camp, we expect to find it in good condition; please sweep the floors and clean the dishes before you leave.
Also, our friendly neighbors rely on us to be respectful of the quiet nature of the area. Feel free to have fun, but nothing raucous, especially after dark.
This was our first airbnb experience and we weren't disappointed. Communication with Lynne was easy and very helpful. There were even personalised welcome signs at the driveway to help us and the fridge had a few essentials which were very welcome. The location was stunning and everything we'd hoped for (and as Lynne had described). We couldn't stop saying 'wow' for at least 10 minutes. If you're looking for a chic boutique hotel this isn't the place for you but if you want peace & quiet in a rustic cabin I would highly recommend it.
We had a great few days in this incredibly idyllic setting. The house is full of charm and very tasteful and dealing with Lynne was pleasure. Highly recommended.
We had a great time at Lynne's camp. It was so great to have the kayak and canoe, the fire pit and grill, the fishing dock and the hammock and a badminton net and rackets too. We picked blueberries and made muffins, and we really loved the view. If you want to get away and relax and are within 100 miles of Lynn's place, you should make sure to go for a visit. You will 've happy that you did.
Lynne was helpful and provided some personal touches. The cottage was all we hoped it would be, and more. The lake was easily warm enough for swimming, and the toys provided (boats, firepit, dock) made the place a real treat for us and our kids. The cabin is rustic (no laundry, no garbage disposal, small spaces) and that was just what we were expecting (and looking forward to). Lynne labeled the hard-to-find turnoff with our name, which was cool to see. The space is adorably decorated in a no-frills way. Even though it's small and rustic, it's cozy and friendly and stocked with jigsaw puzzles - so you might find yourself scrapping plans to go sightseeing so you can enjoy the home/puzzles/dock/swimming. The pantry was stocked with all sorts of necessities-and-treats, with the request that you replace what you finish. The setting is utterly silent and serene.
Everyone should be lucky enough to get to spend time at this camp. The lake was perfect, and there were incredible views from every room in the cabin. The bunkhouse was cozy and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with everything we needed to cook, and there were more things to do (hiking, swimming, boating, etc) than we had time for. I just hope I can stay longer next time. The host provided excellent directions and suggestions about the area. The entire trip was like a dream.
The listing was everything we expected and more , the host was great the place was beutiful and very quiet and relaxing .The house is very clean and well organized , the view of the lake is awesome the host provided us with everything we need from kayaks to barbaque ,water balloons and many more thing to use from the garage.
My husband, Craig and I bought this camp in 2012, and we've been enjoying it ever since. We are thrilled to share our little piece of heaven with others through Airbnb. We are both architects, and have created what we think is a sweet, fun getaway at this camp. We love to swim, boat, hike and relax, and this camp offers all of that and more. Two miles away is an old fashioned general store and restaurant, with wonderful local owners and hearty food.
