Interaction with guests

Casual interactions. I'm friendly and very laid back.

The neighborhood

It's Westlands, what's not to love?

Upmarket area, my house is within striking distance of 4 shopping centres, countless ATM spots, banks, Westlands fruit & veg market, and just 800 metres from the best clubs in Nairobi

Getting around

The beauty with Nairobi is that you need not walk far to get public transport. Matatus are the inexpensive and reliable means with which we as Nairobians traverse our city.

If coming from the city, use matatus that ply the Parklands-Highridge & Lower Kabete routes. These are picked up at Old Nation House in the CBD.

If going to the city, matatus pick up passengers on Parklands road just next to the Southern Sun Mayfair which is a short walk from the apartment.

If you wish to use private means, professional, safe and fairly-priced taxi services such as Uber & Mondo Ride are available.

Other things to note

The best way to learn about Kenya is from someone who's heart and soul is here.

I therefore organise trips around Nairobi and outside it for a small fee.

Whether here for business or leisure there's always something to learn about my city.

I look forward to showing you around.

I had a wonderful stay at Waithira's place. She took very good care, and every detail was thought of. She provided more than the basics and was very open and welcoming. And you can have nice discussions with her on everything going on in Kenya.

This place was really perfect for me because I needed to be at the university each day, and it was simple enough to catch an Uber and be there in 15 minutes. The room is nice, and the wifi is good. The room is well outfitted with everything you need, and she thoughtfully left out fruit and water as well for my arrival. Very thoughtful host, and enjoyed spending time with her and learning more about the city: a favorite hostess of mine, in all my times using airbnb. If you havent been to N before, I'd suggest this place; or, if you are there on business. Tidy, easy, thoughtful touches: was nice to come back each evening to my bed made!

Waithira is a fantastic host who goes out of her way to make guests feel at home. She took me around the Nairobi national park, drove miles to pick up a phone for me and was generally very kind and helpful. I'd recommend her place to anyone!

Overall an excellent experience. Waithira is an extremely gracious host always happy to help out (finding a gym, doing laundry, setting up weekend trips). She's also very kind and caring. The apartment is in an excellent location only ~ 10 minute walk to Westgate/Sarit Centre. If you're looking for a clean, easy, nice experience than this will be a great apartment for you.

Fun-loving, easy going person who is also a stickler for cleanliness. Very open minded. I love meeting new people - and welcoming them by cooking for them too.
