About this listing
Welcome to my place: a peaceful two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment on a quiet street on the west side of Los Angeles. You'll enjoy a clean, clutter-free room, an amazing mattress, and large windows with great views.
Thanks for checking out my place. I can only host individuals whose natural sleep cycle is to go to sleep before 11 p.m. I cannot host guests who come in/stay up/sleep in late. This is a deal breaker. My downstairs neighbor, in her 70s, is a 24/7 caretaker of her 90-year-old mother. Not interfering with her sleep is a top priority, so if you don't fit this sleep pattern, my place isn't a match.
I host individuals who come to Los Angeles for planned, specific daytime activities such as sight-seeing or attending conferences. I often work from home, so I'm not a match for individuals with no plans or who want a "headquarters" for finding a place to live.
If you're a tourist, my place is perfect whether you're driving or taking public transportation. I'm exactly in the middle of the west (best) side of Los Angeles most frequented by tourists. I'm halfway between Santa Monica (the ocean) and Downtown, and halfway between Hollywood and the 10 freeway.
I'm five blocks from the most convenient bus stop in Los Angeles (Fairfax and Wilshire). Santa Monica, UCLA, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown and the rail/subway system are each ONE bus ride away from this stop.
If you're driving, you have the same convenience of reaching all these places easily on only one or two streets. I provide a parking permit which allows you to park on the street.
The bedroom is 10x11 ft. and has a window air conditioner. The queen-size bed has a 14-inch pillow-top memory-foam mattress which guests love. I provide quality sheets/blankets/comforters.
The shared bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower. Towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. The shower is small--2x2.5 ft. The toilet has a bidet.
The kitchen has a fridge and stove (no microwave). You are welcome to use the kitchen for storing food and light cooking.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and La Brea Tar Pits are three blocks away, and within a 1/2 mile radius are restaurants including Starbucks, Marie Calendars, The Counter, Baja Fresh, Chipotle, Five Guys, Papa Johns, Hunan Taste, IHOP, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Shakey's, and the restaurants of Little Ethiopia.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
You're welcome to hang out in the living room and use the kitchen for light cooking.
Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to help guests with sight-seeing suggestions and restaurant recommendations.
The neighborhood is very quiet. You would never know you were in the heart of one of the busiest parts of Los Angeles.
Three major bus routes are just blocks away. One line takes you directly to Santa Monica and the ocean going west (720), four take you directly to Downtown ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and 728), and two take you to Hollywood (217 or 780). These lines also connect you to two subway lines (red and purple) from which you can go nearly anywhere.
I go to bed before 9 p.m. so I need guests to check in before 8 p.m the first day.
I can only host individuals whose natural sleep cycle is to go to sleep before 11 p.m. Please book with another airbnb host or hotel if you like staying up late.
The building's quiet hours begin at 9 p.m. Noise volume should be lowered at that time.
After 9 p.m. please use earbuds when using electronics in the bedroom. No phone/video calls in the middle of the night.
No walking indoors with outdoor shoes. When coming home please take shoes off at the front door. Before going out, please don't put shoes on in the bedroom and walk across the floors--put them on at the door right before leaving.
No eating or storage of food and drinks in the bedroom or living room other than water. You are welcome to store food in the kitchen and to eat food in the dining room.
Please turn off the air conditioner, fan and lights when going out
Please lock the front door on your way in or out--it's a safe neighborhood, but it's still a big city.
Please wipe down the three walls and door of the shower with the squeegee after showering.
Don't stress out about forgetting a rule. I give very gentle reminders.
