About this listing
Welcome to my place: a peaceful two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment on a quiet street on the west side of Los Angeles. You'll enjoy a clean, clutter-free room, an amazing mattress, and large windows with great views.
Thanks for checking out my place. Please read the rules. I'm an easy-going guy, but unfortunately the floors in my building are thin, and my downstairs neighbors aren't so easy going when their sleep is disturbed. I.e. the "rules" . . .
I host individuals who come to Los Angeles for planned, specific daytime activities such as sight-seeing or attending conferences. I often work from home, so I'm not a match for individuals with no plans who want to stay in most of the day. This in no way implies you have to be "gone" all day or that you can't have times of napping, relaxing, etc.
In light of the thin floors, I can only host individuals who like to sleep during the night. My building's "quiet" hours begin at 9 p.m., so the ideal guest will more often than not enjoy going to bed by 11 p.m.
If you're a tourist, my place is perfect whether you're driving or taking public transportation. I'm exactly in the middle of the west (best) side of Los Angeles most frequented by tourists. I'm halfway between Santa Monica (the ocean) and Downtown, and halfway between Hollywood and the 10 freeway.
I'm five blocks from the most convenient bus stop in Los Angeles (Fairfax and Wilshire). Santa Monica, UCLA, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown and the rail/subway system are each ONE bus ride away from this stop.
If you're driving, you have the same convenience of reaching all these places easily on only one or two streets. I provide a parking permit which allows you to park on the street.
The bedroom is 10x11 ft. and has a window air conditioner. The queen-size bed has a 14-inch pillow-top memory-foam mattress which guests love. I provide quality sheets/blankets/comforters.
The shared bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower. Towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. The shower is small--2x2.5 ft. The toilet has a bidet.
The kitchen has a fridge, stove, and toaster oven (no microwave and the big oven isn't available). You are welcome to use the kitchen for storing food and light cooking.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and La Brea Tar Pits are three blocks away, and within a 1/2 mile radius are restaurants including Starbucks, Marie Calendars, Johnny Rocket, The Counter, Baja Fresh, Chipotle, Five Guys, Papa Johns, Hunan Taste, IHOP, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Shakey's, and the restaurants of Little Ethiopia.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
You're welcome to hang out in the living room and use the kitchen for light cooking.
Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to help guests with sight-seeing suggestions and restaurant recommendations.
The neighborhood is very quiet. You would never know you were in the heart of one of the busiest parts of Los Angeles.
Two major bus routes are just blocks away. One line takes you directly to Santa Monica and the ocean going west, or Downtown going east. The other line, going north, takes you directly to Hollywood and Highland. These lines also take you to various subway stations from which you can go nearly anywhere.
I go to bed before 9 p.m. so I need guests to arrive before 8 p.m.
It's very important that my neighbors not be disturbed. They are very quiet and definitely won't disturb you or your sleep. In light of that:
The building's quiet hours beginning at 9 p.m. Noise volume should be lowered at that time.
After 10 p.m. electronics should be used only with ear buds in the bedrooms.
* Please take your shoes off when you step inside (a mat is provided as well as a stool for taking shoes on and off)
* Please no food or drinks other than water in the bedroom and living room (you're welcome to use the kitchen and dining room)
* Please turn off the air conditioner, fan and lights when going out
* Please lock the front door on your way in or out--it's a safe neighborhood, but it's still a big city
