Great check-in experience
100% of recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Sci-fi outer space themed vintage trailer home! Views of Joshua Tree National Park and wide open desert. Great for sunrise, sunset and stargazing.

The space
The 1958 Vintage Red Rocket , is a 7 x 38 foot trailer. The unit is shaded by re-purposed trampolines! The themed interior is stunning. It is definitely a sight to see!

The Sunlight Ranch and all of the trailers located on it, are powered 100% by solar energy and work congruent with the natural environment. Our permaculture features a grey water system, a greenhouse, re-purposing of materials, and a sustainable lifestyle. During your stay, we hope you learn something and are inspired by our bio-cooperative design!

It is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway. Sunlight Ranch is an observer of Dark Sky Association regulations in order to keep light pollution to a minimum, which creates the perfect stargazing experience. We provide Dr. Bronner's bio-compatible soap/shampoo. Please be careful and try to make sure only water and mild soap/non whiting toothpaste goes down the drain. Our Grey water system provides life giving water to our plants.

The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed. The sofa bed is adequate for two! We provide extra linens for additional guests so please specify the amount of people in your party. Coffee, filters, non-dairy creamer, sugar, cooking oil and a small variety of spices are located in the trailer. Filtered water is also included via Brita Pitcher which is in the fridge.

Enjoy an out of this world experience in our Rocket Ship!

Guest access
Guests have access to private trailer and are provided with parking for two vehicles.

There is also a communal playground for those with children!

Other things to note
Sunlight Ranch embraces the creative and spiritual vibe of Joshua Tree. Many people come here to relax so please be mindful of this.

The Sunlight Ranch is not yet suitable for pets. Your pet’s safety is important to us. We are working on developing and a gated area free from cactus and potentially harmful wildlife so that we can accommodate pets in the future.

Since we are a permaculture farm, we do not allow campfires. We love this planet and are doing our best to reduce our carbon footprint. If you smoke, please do it outside.

We have weather shifts, so bring layers of clothing appropriate for the time of year. It is the desert, but it does get pretty cold at night. We always recommend guests bring a light coat and dress warmer in the winter!

Please be respectful of check-in and check-out times.

Commercial Shoots:
A flat rate of $450.00 a day, added to the nightly rate. Up to a five member film crew would be covered by the permit fee purchased through the Airbnb site. Only 1-4 registered/paid guests are allowed to stay overnight on property per insurance. All crew not registered to sleep over must leave the property by 8 PM. Larger projects will be $ 1200 to $2000 and require booking more sites as needed, to avoid disturbing other guests staying. Please call us prior to booking to discuss all the details for planned shoots.

During your stay
If you want to talk water, energy or permaculture, then I am your guy! I will do my best to try and make time to discuss solar power, permaculture, and any bio-cooperative designs.Tesla vehicles as well.

If you are a musician, you can play at the open mics; Monday nights at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown and Tuesdays at the Saloon in Joshua Tree. If you are an artist, just feeling the land ask us and we will give you a couple of ideas still in our pipeline and you can leave a calling card sample of your creativity on our land for future guests to enjoy. We have lots of materials to play with and the space to create.
