This was by far the worst Airbnb experience I've had. In fact it went against everything that Airbnb stands for. Paris is there just to get your money and he doesn't crew about your stay or you at all. I never even met the guy, he sent his cleaner Louis, who couldn't care less too. We were orcs to wait in the rain for 30 minutes just to get inside the apartment to check in. The place didn't have enough bedding so we brought my blanket that was given to me by my grandmother and was a family heirloom. On the day we had to check out, we kept some stuff there including the blanket to pick up in an hour with a car. After calling Paris, texting him and having no response, we had to wait till the next day when he picked up the phone and said there was no blanket or anything in the apartment and the cleaning must have thrown it away. He wouldn't check with them or let us contact cleaning and just wouldn't give a rats tail about the situation. I really hope he gets banned from Airbnb. And if you can you should avoid this apartment. It's pretty small and shitty inside anyway. Also, I found hair in the fridge. Long black hairs. Gross.
I have over 77 review positive reviews and care for all my guest, but this couple booked for 2 people and had 4 people staying in my apartment. They live in NY and decided to stay in my apartment ???? Check out was at 11am as clear stated in my profile, and i did not receive any text message until the following day when they called me. I clear stated that i was not responsible for items left behind after check out. I had guest arriving the same day and wanted the apartment ready for them.
The apartment is great for the neighbourhood, very glad my group and I decided to stay here. I'd read that people thought the neighbourhood wasn't the greatest, definitely rough around the edges but nothing to be afraid of. Nestled between two train stations, a deli on every corner and a few cool bars surrounding the place made it easy to get comfy. Roof was closed until the last night of the trip, not much of a view but I could see it being enjoyable with nicer weather. Couldn't go wrong with the price either, thanks Paris!
My friends and I stayed at Paris's place and everything was great. The neighborhood isnt very friendly but the apt is near the metro (about 4 blocks) and there's a pretty big market besides the station were you can buy everythign you needf. We actually thought the apartment was smaller and were very pleased when we arrived. As we got to nyc early in the morning we were able to leave our luggage in the building and return at check in time. Apartment was clean and had everthing we needed to cook. Although we were pretty confortable, if you're travelling with family/kids it may not be the place for you as it doesnt have any other table to eat at besides the one that is shown in the photos and there are only two chairs. We ate at the couch while watching tv. The only problem we had was that for about three days wifi stopped working, we talked to paris and after a couple of days he could repair it.
This was our first experience witf airbnb and we would definitely do it again. Thanks Paris!
We really enjoyed our stay in ny. Loved the apartment! It was just what we needed and close to the subway. It seemed a little scary walking home from the subway at night. Was glad there was guys with us. But I'm a country girl from idaho so what do I know!
The appartement was very nice located in Brooklyn. We walked 5 minutes to the next subway station. The room is very roomy and we had a great time. Totally can recommend this place!
We had a wonderful time in Paris’s Apartment! The apartment is clean, and looks just like it does in the photos. The kitchen has everything you need to make or reheat some food. The heater works beautifully, which is a luxury when visiting in the winter! While we didn’t get to meet him directly, he was very responsive via email and over the phone when we needed him. The check-in/check-out was a smooth process! Because we had an evening flight home and check out was at 11am, we were even allowed to leave our bags in the manager’s office after checkout, which was a real convenience!
In terms of location – the metro is SUPER close. You can take the Kosciuszko Street or the Myrtle Avenue stop right into Manhattan or to Queens. It even takes you to JFK! We had a minor delay because of weekend maintenance - the Kosciuszko train was unavailable for 1 day, but the Myrtle ave. was just a few blocks away (walking distance!).
Just to give you an idea, this isn’t the best neighborhood, but we never felt afraid or threatened. In fact, some people were real chatty and helpful with us. Just make sure you look both ways and don’t get run over by moving traffic, because everyone is always on the go!
There are lots of restaurants & markets nearby, but not much to do at night. But with the city & Williamsburg so close, that’s not even an issue.
I stayed here with my best friend and boyfriend and we were all comfortable at Paris's apartment, so I'd recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Brooklyn.
This was my first time using Airbnb and I couldn't be more happy. The apartment was clean and looked exactly in person as it looks on the pictures provided by the host. Access to J/M/Z train is just around the corner and you can get anywhere in NYC within 20-45 minutes. Some of the previous reviewers mentioned that apartment is very close to the train station and because of that they had problems sleeping. I was worried about it but I gotta say.. either Airbnb users are very light sleepers or like to exaggerate a lot ;) I could barely hear any trains passing by :) Paris was a great host, responded very quickly and was approachable by phone and email within minutes. I will definitely use his apartment in the future whenever I will travel to NYC. Oh, and you have to try freshly made juices from Mr. Kiwi (24 hour grocery store, recommended by the host), they are d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!
That was our first experience on Airbnb and we feel satisfied with the services.
The apartment was as described. Very cozy and clean! It's a perfect room for two people! There were towels, a hair drier, kitchen dishes, so you can cook something simple, good wifi and many other things that can make you feel comfortable in the apartment. We liked the apartment very much, but what we didn't like is that area where the apartment is located. There are no restaurants in that area, I mean real restaurants, not those deli-grocery-restaurants on the corners of each block that make creepy burgers)) or any bank. It is dirty out there on the streets, and gets noisy sometimes, but in NYC everywhere is like that.
In conclusion, this is a good choice for that money! If you are planning to stay there for a few days or less than a week, I would recommend it!
The place was no nonsense and perfect for us. Close to the train and he did not bother us while we were there. The train is a bit loud, but not bad. Perfect place if you are just looking for a place to sleep after a long day of walking around and sight seeing.
Paris' apartment was great. It looks exactly like pictured on the website. Even though we did not meet Paris personally, he made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Communication was ecellent.
