Dee and Mark were the perfect hosts. They offered us a very warm Irish welcome and were very forthcoming with recommendations and advice on every aspect of our trip. The house was beautifully designed, spotless and beds very comfy. The breakfast was delicious. We will certainly visit again.
Perfect hosts, lovely room, very ineresting artistique house and great advice. And the breakfast!!
We had a fantastic stay at Dee and Mark's beautiful Galway home. Just a short walk from the water and the city center, the house was all gorgeous floors, high ceilings and inspiring art. The art was especially fun to take in.
Our room had its own bathroom, window overlooking the back courtyard, comfy bed and space heater (so we could adjust the temp to our liking). I cannot say enough how pretty it all was - when rainy weather on Sunday forced us indoors, we were perfectly fine spending a few hours in our room.
Plus Mark and Dee were so hospitable - true service and kindness. Mark drew us a homemade map of the town and offered restaurant and shop suggestions.
The best part was the breakfast that Mark made us though. We were treated to a delicious full Irish breakfast - complete with rich coffee, homemade brown bread, eggs, bacon and sausage. The whole time that Mark cooked and we ate, he told us his and Dee's story. We learned about where they came from, how they came to live in Galway and about the surrounding area.
Would definitely recommend and we hope to return!
Really enjoyed the stay! The place is a gallery during the day and airbnb during the night. So you can imagine that it's very nicely decorated. Dee and Mark are super nice and easy to talk to. they prepared traditional Irish breakfast for us, and also recommended local bars for our (regretfully) very short visit in Galway. Enjoyed the (email hidden) as well. Thanks a lot! Would recommend to friends that visit Galway I the future:)
What a wonderful experience!!! It has been more than a simple night in a bed&breakfast. Dee and Mark are really hospitable and their house is a gem! They have been helpful to point out for us places of interest. The house is really close to the centre, no more than 10 minutes walk. Then..the breakfast: delicious! Great attention to detail, fresh food and also prepared there and then (gorgeous poached eggs!). We enjoyed a lot talking with Mark while we were having breakfast: is not that there is somebody serving you, is about sharing time, thoughts and comparing our different culture and way of life. Can’t wait to go back!
