A warm & cozy bedroom with a comfy queen-sized bed in my charming 1920's California bungalow turned lush zen retreat in hip Silverlake. This is one of two bedrooms that I rent in the front portion of my home which shares an art deco bathroom with shower and tub. The Master Suite is in the back portion of the house where I stay but is sometimes available to rent as well.
I have a sweet little bird to greet you on the patio in the morning. As well, I have a parrot that I'm watching for a short time who lives in the backyard during the day. They come in to slumber in the master suite in the evenings.
The 14% hotel tax is included. There is a one time cleaning fee of $75. For stays longer than 1 week, weekly cleanings are included as well. There is a $20 charge per night for each extra guest.
The home is situated just 5 minutes to either Sunset Junction with tons of fun eateries, artisan shops and gourmet coffee houses or to the reservoir for a nice, relaxing walk. Beautiful neighborhood, Farmer's market on Saturdays.
Great outdoor areas. Enjoy coffee on the porch, brunch on the side patio or dive into your book du jour while lounging in the lush garden in back while sipping on a mojito. Fully stocked kitchen appliances/pots/pans/utensils. Free laundry on-site.
Towels, shampoo & soap.
Street parking is available but if you find yourself stuck without parking late night, you are welcome to tandem park in the driveway. Just leave a spot for the blue integra. :)

Nice neighborhood but we can not recommend the house. Everything was a bit shabby, not very clean and loveless. The toilet and the heating in our room was not working properly (it was very chilly), the bed linen was partly torn (as sign of its age), the fridge was smelling very bad.
Beautiful home in great location of Silver Lake. Very easy going, and restful. Walking distance to some terrific cafes. Helen Lee was very helpful and welcoming.
Helen’s house is in a perfect location for a visit to Silver Lake. It’s walking distance of all the right places, but on a sweet, quiet street. I was delighted to be within 5-10-min. walking distance from the Tropical, and grab an espresso that rivaled the best in Berkeley.
The room had everything I needed. Helen gave me an extra blanket on the first night, simply because I asked, yet I was warm enough without it. I had a lot of work to do, and it was a-okay to hang around the place and spend a lot of time in the room. Street parking was hard to find after a late night out, and after driving around the block a couple of times, I planted my over-sized rental vehicle in her driveway, and it was not a problem.
The atmosphere is peaceful and easy-going, and the house is clean and restful. Helen was a lot of fun to talk with, and the kind of person that leaves you feeling encouraged about life and grateful! I will probably try to stay here again on my next visit to Silver Lake.
We were really just looking for a bed and a bathroom in the Silver Lake area--and this definitely fit the bill. Our room was very clean and tidy--not huge, but comfortable for a weekend. The location was very convenient--just a 20 minute walk to Sunset Junction, with great dining options nearby. We did share a bathroom with another couple who was staying that weekend, but privacy wasn't a real issue. Helen was very kind and accommodating and even let us delay our checkout by a few hours. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a low-key rental in the Silver Lake area.
The reservation was canceled 23 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Helen is such a beautiful human being, she is warm, friendly, kind and so loving. If you want a super sweet host she is definitely worth staying with. I look forward to seeing her again one day.
Stayed for two weeks and the room was quiet and the house was very comfortable. Short walk to Sunset Junction, and almost every highway is easily accessible. Parking is not too much of a hassle, which is saying a lot for the area. Definitely recommend it if you are staying in the area.
