We understand that you go to the mountains to feel like you're truly in the mountains - the fresh smell of pine trees from your own private balcony, the exhilarating trails a couple blocks away in Arapahoe National Forest and the convenient free ski shuttle that stops at the end of the driveway.
Enjoying the Rockies doesn't have to mean roughing it. This comfortable 2 bedroom condo comes with new furnishings. Wake up refreshed from a sleep on brand new Serta mattresses with memory foam toppers or relax in a recliner in front of a 42 inch LCD television while a soothing fire warms your toes.
The upstairs offers two bedrooms. One with a queen bed and a private balcony, the second with a twin over full bunk bed. A second balcony is easily accessed at the top of the stairs. The upstairs has a full bath and the downstairs a half and washer/dryer.
Fix your own meals in a fully furnished kitchen or enjoy the many restaurants down the street in the town of Winter Park.
Peaceful seclusion is a given at Hideaway Village since there are just 5 units in the building and plenty of pine forest around the building. Across the street is a clubhouse with an indoor pool and hot tub and coin laundry. In the summer, there are tennis & basketball courts.
Eric was a great host, very responsive. We had an issue with the heat when we arrived, and he got someone over right away. It turned out to be a simple fix. The condo was very comfortable. My kids LOVED the bunk bed. It was very convenient to the mountain (about a 5 minute drive). We like having a kitchen and ended up cooking most breakfasts and dinners in. The kitchen had everything we needed.
Very well kept condo in convenient location to Winter Park Resort skiing and Arapahoe National Forest snow shoeing. Quiet, nice views. The kitchen gadgets and equipment exceeded what we have at home, great for any chef types who plan to do their own cooking on vacation. Eric was easily available via WiFi devices. Of note, I had no cell service (AT&T) anywhere in the area, including Winter Park Resort...though my daughter's newer phone with same service did. For skiers, I highly recommend Viking Ski Shop rentals down the hill from the condo, over commercialized, overpriced, poorly staffed WP Resort which has long lines.
Eric's cabin was a fantastic place to stay. Comfortably fit 5 of us and only a few minutes drive to the slopes. There's a bus that picks you up right outside the door as well if you need it.
Reasonable price, very comfortable, apparently recently remodeled. Great location near the heart of Winter Park. My wife and I will happily try to rebook it next time we're vacationing in CO. The place is organized very efficiently, so it seems bigger than it is. The kitchen was left well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and it was handy to have a washer/dryer in the unit itself. We made heavy use of the multiple balconies/decks.
The main disadvantage was outside the owner's control - the Hideaway rec center is fairly rundown, with broken ping-pong paddles, no hot water for the shower in the men's locker room, constant towel shortages, etc. My kids enjoyed the pool, though.
