Veronica is so hospitable and generous with her information. I could see her a owning and bed and breakfast someday. The house is exactly as described and perfectly stocked with beach supplies and extra goodies. (Welcome groceries, stamped postcards and free shaved ice to name a few.) The house is quite at night and equipped with great shutters to keep all the street light out. Perfect house for your next Kauai vacation.

Veronica and Rick were great hosts: the cottage was very clean; and Veronica had done a lot of special things to make us feel at home. There was coffee and breakfast food in the fridge, guidebooks in the living room, robes in the bathroom, and many other thoughtful amenities ready for us. We particularly appreciated the use of the cooler, beach chairs, and snorkeling gear--we had thought we would have to rent of buy these things; but Veronica had left us a note telling us what they had available and where. We also appreciated her notebook giving restaurant and shopping suggestions. All that we tried were excellent, and her recommendations added a lot to our stay.
A note about the area: the cottage is on a mountain side, with lush foliage in the vicinity. Though it was an area of small houses--which sounded to me like a suburb before I saw it--the natural beauty of the roads approaching the area was a great plus.
If I had known what a wonderful little house this is, I would have booked more than three nights. Veronica is such a perfect hostess, and the house so well taken care of and we'll equipped. Even breakfast and bottled water is provided.
Veronica, Rick and the accommodations were terrific. They both made sure we were happy and were quick to help when needed. The accommodation was very clean, well stocked, private, was exactly as described, had a fantastic "House Manual" and lived up to all the positive reviews they have earned. Beds are comfy and the full kitchen was great. The location is central and in a very nice neighborhood. We will not hesitate to return.
We stayed at the cottage for part of our honeymoon, and had a wonderful experience with it, Veronica & Rick, and everyone in the neighborhood. The cottage itself was great and came with a lot of things you don't find for free at a hotel (beach equipment, washer/dryer, etc). It's decorated really nicely, and the lack of A/C isn't a problem at all with all the fans and cross breezes from the windows, which was one of the things my husband was slightly worried about. Our hosts even left pre-paid postcards, some nice beer, and an assortment of other food items like bread, eggs, and macademia chocolate chip cookies! One thing that was really nice was the flexible check-in/out policy, which really helped us fully enjoy our vacation. This was probably one of the nicest airbnb experiences that I've had.
Absolutely loved this cottage! Great location and comfortable space. Veronica and Rick were easy to communicate with and provide all the information you need to have an easy and enjoyable stay. They have tons of great beach gear to use, guidebooks to reference, cooking supplies, and even a washer/dryer in the unit. Highly recommend and hope to visit again!!
About the Host, Veronica_&_Rick
My husband, Rick, and I moved to Kauai, from Arizona, in 2005 and love our life on this beautiful island. For us, Kauai is a cross between Mayberry and Gilligan's Island...actually they did film the intro of Gilliagan's Island here. It is the perfect place to raise a family!
Kalaheo is a located on the sunny southwest side of the island, Mauka (mountains) where we get a bit more rain than Poipu (south shore) and lots of rainbows! We are just 10 minutes from many beaches, have easy access to some great restaurants .and walking distance to a local golf course that charges less than $10 a round!
Come and visit us! I know you will want to come back!
