90 square meters living room, bedroom, balcony, bath, kitchen and rooftop terrace to relax, be in love or just enjoy the ever changing panorama.
It is the perfect place for honeymooners, gay or straight !
Beside the living room/kitchen/bath/bedroom, there is a flat roof terrace, where you may enjoy the fantastic panorama early morning, during sunset or gaze at the stars and the moon at night.
Interaction with Guests
I am next door and you can ask me anything you want to know, or arrangements you want for dinner or tours, or just leave some laundry while you hang out at the museum or the beach.
It is peaceful and quiet. The only nightlife sounds you will hear are those every Jungle has to offer: geckos, crickets, birds, frogs, bats, roosters or dogs
It is easy to get here from the airport by tricycle. Just tell the driver to go to Santa Monica, Mitra Road, Uyuni on the hill.
It is only about 400 meters walk from my home to - what we call - the highway. There you find Multicab or Tricycle as public transport. But I can always arrange transportation, in case you want to hang another few minutes relaxed in the hammock.
Other Things to Note
No guns, no drugs, no karaoke please !
Keep things clean and do not damage anything, after all it is my home and not some Corporate Hotel.
Don't worry, be happy !
Christians guesthouse was a perfect place to unwind after a few busy days of travel. It was a central location and getting a tricycle to nearby amenity was always cheap and easy. We didn't get to meet Christian but his house keeper and her family were always there to answer any queries. Please note that there was no hot water which didn't bother us at all as a cold shower was very refreshing after a hot day. Overall I would highly recommend the guesthouse if you are after some relaxing peace and quiet.
We absolutely loved our week staying at Christian's guesthouse. It was great to be away from the traffic, hustle bustle and the noise of downtown Puerto Princesa and stay high in the hills with a stunning rural view through to the ocean.
It does take a little longer to get into town but it's worth it. The best part was Christian's attention to giving us local knowledge and recommendations all of which we found very useful and enjoyable. In fact we think back and without this personalised support we would have found it more difficult to negotiate and find our way.
Christian is one of those rare special people who you will remember for a long time.
This is an authentic Philippines experience and it allows you to enjoy it exactly the way it is. We will never forget our stay and experience.
We had the best stay in Palawan at Christian's haven Uyuni which is located on a hill in the nicest neighborhood. Getting around town by tricycle was very convenient and cheap. Christian was really the best host and helped out with questions and needs and pointed us in the right direction to which places and restaurants to go to. The house is more than what the photos tell. It's well maintained and totally unique design and architecture. It was sweet to read parts of Christian's memoir too while drinking coffee on the roof that overlooks Honda Bay. The place is lovely and magical.
Christian has created a perfect environment to really appreciate the beauty of the island. Situated on top of a hill, accessed by a private road, Christian's home is a place that gives you peace and a new vibrance for life. The best part of the whole trip is the host himself, Christian. Knowing him is an experience in itself. I hope anyone has the opportunity to share in his passions, experiences in the Philippines, and just everyday conversation. A trip here is definitely worth it, trust me. You will leave as a proud traveler and a happier human being.
At dawn, the balcony is perfect for yoga /meditation. At night, I climbed onto his rooftop to indulge in some astrophotography, for the stars glittered so beautifully.
If you wanted to, you could also wander around his lovely estate. Chris' home was as beautiful as he was lovely, and he was generous to share his stories and breakfast (Incidentally, his cooking was also the best food we had in Puerto Princesa ).
I had a very idyllic time there, and I'm already looking for reasons to return! It may be away from the main street, but this place is so worth it.
Finally, I am impressed and very grateful that chris' plumbing system was good. better than so many places in Manila. I was so happy to use the toilet, secure in the knowledge that things WOULD go away when I hit the flush button. The towels he provided were also nice and (website hidden):If the tricycle operator can't comprehend the address, say "bakers hill", and watch for the sign. Some prices we enjoyed: PPS>Uyuni: P60-100, Uyuni>PPS: P80-150. For higher prices, the tricycle will go all the way up the path to the doorstep, but sometimes we just felt bad hearing the bike struggle with our weight during the incline.
PSS don't leave food out, the ants will come (lost a delicious loaf of bread that way)
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Christian's place. It's a beautiful house where we could take a rest from the busy outside world and enjoy ourselves.
Christian is a great host with amazing cooking skills and many interesting stories.
Our stay was perfect.
Christian's gorgeous, tasteful, elegant space exceeded our expectations! The two-floor guest house is uniquely and artfully designed by the owner using natural materials in such a way that blends perfectly with the stunning Palawan landscape. Every detail in the home from the throwpillows to the table lamps reflects Christian's artistic vision and colorful life. Christian is also a gracious host who helped us book a restaurant table on our first night and accomodations at our next location. We couldnt have asked for a better place to spend the first and last nights of our honeymoon.
I am an Austrian Artist living in the Philippines for the past 30 Years, which I have traveled extensively and therefore can help and advise my visitors on how and where to go and enjoy this beautiful country.
It is my pleasure to help you arrange trips and transportation.
Once you arrive in Puerto Princesa just take a tricycle (150 Pesos) and ask the driver to bring you to Santa Monica, Mitra Road and there on the left is a sign for UYUNI ON THE HILL.
I love to care
