Interaction with Guests
I am next door and you can ask me anything you want to know, or arrangements you want for dinner or tours, or just leave some laundry while you hang out at the museum or the beach.
It is peaceful and quiet. The only nightlife sounds you will hear are those every Jungle has to offer: geckos, crickets, birds, frogs, bats, roosters or dogs
It is easy to get here from the airport by tricycle. Just tell the driver to go to Santa Monica, Mitra Road, Uyuni on the hill.
It is only about 400 meters walk from my home to - what we call - the highway. There you find Multicab or Tricycle as public transport. But I can always arrange transportation, in case you want to hang another few minutes relaxed in the hammock.
Other Things to Note
No guns, no drugs, no karaoke please !
Keep things clean and do not damage anything, after all it is my home and not some Corporate Hotel.
Don't worry, be happy !
Super Host is too humble a title! Christian was a wonderful host, who made us feel incredibly welcomed. His recommendations and support were were really helpful and greatly improved our short trip. The house is even more charming than the pictures and is perfect for a couple. The position is wonderful and secluded but with easy access back in to Puerta Princessa 10-15mins away.
Hans is a great host and very well versed in all things Palawan! Very accomodating and fkexible. And the view from the roof is just amazing.
There aren't enough words to explain just how much of a wonderful time we had with Christian.
His home was absolutely lovely - it was even more beautiful than the photos suggested. We were awed and thrilled to discover that Christian was the one who designed the gorgeous house that we stayed in. His attention to detail and keen eye for aesthetics were apparent in the every bit of furniture and artwork inside his home. My boyfriend and I actually both decided that Christian's home was what our dream home should look like. Here's to hoping that he'll give us design advice!
Christian himself is an absolute delight - witty, warm, wonderfully welcoming. He is such a gracious and accommodating host. He arranged transportation for us, made dinner reservations, gave excellent advice on where to go and what to do in Palawan (both in Puerto Princesa and El Nido), cooked an absolutely scrumptious meal for us, and best of all, spent quality time with us, conversing with us on a great many interesting things over coffee, wine, beer, and a gin tonic or two.
It was my first time in Palawan with my boyfriend and we are so glad to have chosen to stay with Christian. He truly made our stay a memorable and enjoyable one. We were quite sad to leave and actually wish we could have stayed longer. Suffice to say, we are definitely coming back. For the pleasant company and lush surroundings. For the chance to experience tranquil perfection all over again.
P.S. Christian's dogs are such darlings! They slept by our stairs at night, making us feel safe and secure. They would also hang around as we cooked, making these adorable begging eyes. We miss Dalai, Spotty, and the three puppies already.
This is a fantastic choice for a getaway, whether you are looking to relax or to reflect on life. You wake up to a beatiful serene scenary, which was my favourite. The house is clean and the interior is beautifully and artistically designed with touches of Filipino arhcitecture. Location was great, a 10 min walk to Bakers Hill and Mitra Ranch. Although slightly away from the city centre, but this was a positive for us so we could get some quiet. Having said this, this is only a 10-15 min tricycle from the city - very close! Hans-Christian was a terrific host and looked after us. (His doggies not to mention also did too, making sure we were safe!) Christian had many great food plans that we thoroughly enjoyed. Don't miss out on such a great place!
The place of Christian is really special in Puerto Princesa.
Owner Christian is also so friendly and smiley person.
The view overlooking mountains and ocean is stunning and quiet peaceful.
I have stayed at many hotels and pension house in Palawan. And i can say here is a special.
The location is not so convenience and difficult to find.
Although it tuned out that this apartment didn't quite suit our needs for the couple of nights we were in Puerto Princesa, I can't speak highly enough of Christian. He was most helpful throughout the booking process and answered all of my (many) questions about the area really quickly. He is a genuinely lovely guy.
The apartment itself is beautiful and exactly as described/pictured. The views from the roof are just fantastic and the place has everything you need for a relaxing couple of days as long as you don't mind being a little way out of town. The apartment also has a really great shower and a very comfy bed which we appreciated after using a bucket shower and sleeping in a hut for the previous week!
About the Host, Hans-Christian
I am an Austrian Artist living in the Philippines for the past 30 Years, which I have traveled extensively and therefore can help and advise my visitors on how and where to go and enjoy this beautiful country.
It is my pleasure to help you arrange trips and transportation.
Once you arrive in Puerto Princesa just take a tricycle or taxi and ask the driver to bring you to Santa Monica, Mitra Road and there on the left is a sign for UYUNI ON THE HILL.
I love to care
