Casa Hipodromo is a small B&B in the heart of Condesa. We seek to give our guests a warm and rich experience. With our extensive list of tips, we want our guests to experience Mexico City like a local.
This is an adult only B&B, unless the entire house is booked as a whole.
The room on this listing shares the bathroom with ONE other double occupancy bedroom.
The house has a large living spaces, kitchen and a large rooftop with hammocks and lots of plants, perfect for having breakfast or taking some sun. All of it for your use.
Condesa is one of the best neighborhoods in the city. It's a turn of the century Bohemian-Chic pedestrian area. There are tons of cafes, restaurants, stores and pretty people with dogs.
There are two small parks in the neighborhood Parque España and Parque México. Then we have Chapultepec which is our little Central Park. Perfect for long walks/runs and visiting the museums (Anthropology Museum, Tamayo Museum and Museum of Modern Art, all within walking distance from one another). You can also visit the Castle of Chapultepec which, by the way, it's the only castle built in Latin-america that was actually inhabited by monarchs. It was built in the 1860´s while Mexico was briefly ruled by The House of Habsburg, definitely a must visit site.
The neighborhood is very central and very well connected. You can get anywhere by bicycle or subway.
We have two subway lines near by. It's a 10 minute walk to Chapultepec, on the pink line, and a 15 minute walk to Patriotismo which is the brown line.
The Metrobus is also near by, the closest stop is on Insurgentes and Campeche.
The best way to get around the city is on the city's bike share program. As a tourist, you may buy a 7 day ($300), 72 ($180) or 24 ($90) hour pass.
Other Things to Note
Breakfast includes fresh brewed coffee, tea, freshly squeezed juice, fresh local fruit, yogourt, toast, preserves, and a selection of traditional pan dulce (Mexican pasteries).
We expect guests to be mindful and respectful of our other guests sleep. You are welcome to cook as long as you clean up after yourself.
Smoking is only permitted on the rooftop.
We enjoyed our stay in this very international house. The other guests were from a variety of countries which really added to the pleasure of our time there. Our rooms were very comfortable and the neighbourhood filled with great eating places and nice walking streets. Everything about the house was perfect!
The room is large and beautiful and full of light. The bathroom is located down the hall and easy to access. And there's a really great deck upstairs to drink the fresh and delicious coffee that's served every morning.
This is a great B&B in a wonderful neighborhood. The room is spacious and very comfortable, and the rest of the place is lovely. The house was filled with interesting people from all over the world which made for very enjoyable breakfasts. I never met Kevin and Panos, but Silvia who works there is great.
Our host was not present when we arrived and we only saw him for a moment the next day. If our friend who kindly drove us to the B & B, had not been there to speak to the staff, we would likely have been even more uncomfortable about the condition of the exterior of the home.
The closed signs on the outside of the building were obviously placed there by some authority for some unknown reason and we were very concerned. As we do not speak fluent Spanish and the staff did not speak English, we would have been very confused and more concerned without our friend translating for us.
The neighborhood was okay and close to many restaurants.
Our stay at Kevin and Panos' place was great. It's more BnB then I'm used to with AirBnB, but that's not a bad thing! Being there for a week, having our room cleaned was really nice. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, especially the fresh fruit. The housekeeping staff were super nice and helpful, and though we only met briefly, Kevin and Panos were friendly. Our room was beautiful and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Check-in was a breeze. There were lots of other folks around staying in the other rooms (a heads-up if you want total silence and privacy), but for us this was perfect. We met great people who we ended up hanging out with throughout our trip!
We stayed here two nights. Silvia was great, and all the guests were really nice. The apt is very well located and the room was spacious and nice
La Condesa is a really nice neighborhood in the city. There are many restaurants and bars, but mostly it is just a beautiful place to walk around. The houses are traditionally styled and designed, but with a modern chic flare.
The B&B is beautifully decorated and feels very comfortable to be in. We were welcomed by the lovely woman who serves breakfast and cleans the rooms. The breakfast was a nice touch to have included. Overall it was a great stay!

We are a couple of almost 6 years. We recently moved down to Mexico City from NYC. We love to travel and experience cities like locals do. We would love to make your experience as good as it can be.
