***Enjoy country life in Costa Rica!!
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 6 nights.
We had a relaxing time at this cabin.
Parts we enjoyed:
-the view from the front porch was great. You could see hummingbirds, birds, lizards, etc. we loved sitting out there and drinking our coffee each morning!
-Glen and Rose were very responsive and quickly answered questions whenever we reached out
-fast internet connection
-the cabin is a bit off the road so we had plenty of privacy!
Room for improvement:
-we felt the photos advertising this place were a little misleading. The bedroom was accurate-it had a bed, shelves, side table, and lamp. But the only other furniture downstairs was one comfy chair, and a small table and two kitchen chairs. We moved the table and chairs out each morning and back in at night, but there were no hammocks or the other seats in the photos
-This is in rural Costa Rica, but it was still a bit more rustic than we expected. It was not super clean, and there were a lot of insects. Also, the water would shut off for several hours at a time-leaving us unable to flush the toilet, do dishes, etc.
This is a good place for a budget traveler looking to get away from city life.
Thank you for staying at our cabin. Yes it is rustic, it is a "Country cabin". I guess one of the guests must have changed the chairs we will have Julio see if he can replace the bigger chair, there should be a hammock there we usually have it hanging by the window as it cannot stay outside the whole time. I wish you would have emailed about the chair and the cabin not being as clean as you expected this is the first summer we have the neighbors cleaning and I now realize that even if I call them to let them know someone will be moving in and to be sure that everything is really clean they do not really understand so I will be getting someone else to clean from now on. Wish you would have let us know so we could dealt with it while you were there. There is not much that can be done about the bugs or the occasional water turn off for repairs or power surges in Costa Rica!!
Rose and Glen were the epitome of perfect hosts. We are so grateful to them for providing such a safe and beautiful place to stay! We were in Atenas for one month, and they did everything they could to make us feel at home. They showed us around town our first day in, and answered all of the questions we had for them. They are both such great people, and we are so glad we got to be neighbors for a few days before they left for vacation.
The country cabin itself is adorable, and well taken care of. The house is exactly as you see it in the photos, and is right next to a bus stop to get into downtown without any trouble. Taxi's are cheap ($5 at most), and there is always something to do! If you love perfect weather, nice neighbors, and some chickens as the occasional visitor, you'll love it.
Thanks again to Rose and Glen for treating us like family!

About the Host, Rose & Glen
Our names are Glen and Rose Marie we are a retired couple from Seattle. We have a home in Montezuma and have lived the "pura vida" 6 to 7 months in Costa Rica every year since 2007. We also love the north west and have homes in Seattle and Victoria, BC which we just cannot give up so we have turned them into vacation rentals so we can enjoy them when we are around. Since we have vacation rentals you can be assured that we will treat your place with respect and leave it in clean condition.
I love to garden, cook, travel, getting to know interesting people form all over the world, and also enjoying the beauty of the places were we live! Hope you will enjoy our homes as much as we do!
