The Space

The room is in a beautiful shared house. It is a ecohouse that we are developing with the other people who live here. We have a small garden, composting and rain-water harvesting, and a recycling project. It is an urban permaculture laboratory for exploring creative, sustainable, artistic, collective practices.
There is a huge shared living room where we like to hangout with a hammock, small dining table and sofas. There is excellent wifi connection. The house dates back to the 1930s and has lots of period features including beautiful old tiles in the kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of space for cooking, a gas oven, large fridge and well-equipped with pans etc. We also have a washing machine, two showers and toilets

You can rent the whole room. In this case, consult us. The room has a large queen sized bed, with the possibility of two more beds.
We also accept part of the payment in work and services in the community-house.

ps: the house has been recently renovated and will soon have more current photos!!

Guest Access

You will have access to all the shared living space including the lounge, kitchen, garden and bathrooms.

Interaction with Guests

A co-creative space for sharing knowledge and experience...
practices that inspire us: Dragon Dreaming, gaia education, permaculture, co-housing, art, dance, music, yoga, deep ecology, gift economies, non violent communication, urban agriculture, urgan gardens, popular and alternative education, traditional and indigenous knowledge, cultures and practices

The Neighborhood

Botafogo is a beautiful but less visited neighbourhood. It is more residential which means you don't get any harassment yet it is also perfectly located to get everywhere and anywhere in the city being at the cross roads between Copacabana, Lagoa, Urca (and Sugarloaf Mountain) and to go to the centre. We are also really lucky to be able to walk to several beaches and Sugarloaf mountain from here. Botafogo is also a lovely neighbourhood because it has loads of old houses and architecture. It's a beautiful, friendly, safe and green place with supermarkets, banks, lively bars and restaurants all within a few minutes walk.

Getting Around

The house is ideally located to get to all parts of Rio de Janeiro but is tranquil and green being on a slightly smaller road and next to the mountain. It is 5 mins to the bus stops at Shopping Rio Sul where buses will take you to every part of Rio de Janeiro. We are a 10 min walk to the metro stop in Botafogo.
