Ideally situated in the heart of the Medina, near to the secure Royal Palace , our Riad is easily accessible and offers a relaxing and exotic stay. The house has 05 confortable and stylish rooms built around a patio with a small swimming pool –ideal for cooling off in the heat of the Moroccan hours . A wall fountain dominates the small swimming pool which is surrounded by balustrades, ideal for the safety of the children. Two living rooms , one open on the patio and the other with a fireplace welcome guests for breakfast. The terrace filled with bougainvilleas is equipped with deckchairs to complete the whole unity.
Idealy located inside the Medina in a working-class but safety area, a short walk from the main touristic places , and also near to a car park guarded 24 hours a day, the house is a real guesthouse managed by Hafida and Said, and this is the strong point of this Riad
I can't recommend Hafida highly enough! What a wonderful experience. My mum and I stayed 4 nights in room no5 on the top floor. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. On our first night we were met by a driver at the airport, she then accompanied us to the main square and introduced us to the delights of the morrocan salad. On discovering that i had forgotten my jacket, and was about to do a hot air balloon ride - she offered to lend me the jacket off her back! Which I couldn't thank her enough for as it was pretty chilly at 6am in the morning! Not only that, but because my mum's flight left 3 hours before mine, she even invited me to join her and her Aisha for a tagine lunch before i set off! What else - the breakfasts were delicious - especially the crispy pancakes, the terrace sun loungers a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main medina, and the location perfect for exploring all that marrakesh offers. I couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you Hafida!
Hafida and her riad was my first experience in Morocco. After several weeks of travel about the country I can now evaluate the riad and Hafida. Basics first: The riad, is attractive, immaculate, quiet and comfortable. You are an easy walk from the Mosque, main square souks and all the "action". The true treasure is Hafida Aderbaz herself. The riad is her life and she is there for all the usual advice on what to do, where to go and where it is but, far more, she is there to cook you plain boiled rice when your stomach demands it, accompany you to buy a cell phone. and care for your needs. She is the treasure of Marrakesh.
Nice riad, about 10 minutes walking from the main square. Helpfull staff (Hafida and her brother). Pro's compared to other hotels in Marrakech: quiet street, especially at nighttime, which is nice after being in the overwhelming city centre. Con's: it's not in the centre and it's a little overpriced (there are plenty of comparable hotels in the medina, where you can stay for less).
Hafida's small but perfectly formed riad was in a great location in the Medina to start our Moroccan adventures. Few busy & scary roads to cross to get the the main square but thats all part of the Marrakech craziness. Our room was comfortable, there was hot water aplenty, wi-fi and a delicious breakfast included (orange cake for breakfast = yummy!) Hafida even helped us secure a place to stay when we returned to the city as her place was full. Can't get better than that for helpfulness!
Some other tips:
We gave up on the bus at the airport after waiting 20 mins and shared a taxi with some others for the same price as the bus would have been.
The cafe on the top of the Photography museum is the quietest escape we found to eat but the huge portions meant we regretted not sharing like all of the other tourists hiding from the midday sun.
Go to the mountains for some fresh air and watch out for speeding motorbikes everywhere (on the pavements and down narrow lanes etc.)
Wonderful Riad. Great hosts.
This lovely Riad was incredible. The staff ist very friendly and helpful. Airport transfer is very nice and the location just perfect. I hihgly recommend this place. You do not have to search any longer :)
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Hafida Aderbaz. The room was very big and clean. The lovely roof terasse let us enjoy the warm winter sun. The place is very conveniend located, so we could discover every thing per feet. Thanks for the great time.
We loved this place! Great location inside the Medina but farther away from the craziness. The room was a bit cold, but we stayed during the winter so that's understandable. Everyone was super nice and welcoming, would definitely stay there again.
We spent 5 nights at Hafida's place, room No5 is on the terrace.
We loved the atomosphere of the riad, and also their breakfast. Pancakes, bread, fruit, coffee, orange juice and mint tea. Winter of Marrakech was quite cold, but our room was warm enough and we can also use hot shower.
They can arrange tour or excursions if you need it.
The place is quite near from parking and bus stop, and also from Fna square. It's easy to find after you first time to get there.
Hafida was very helpful person and speak good English. We felt really comfortable at her place.
We wanted to experience living in a genuine Moroccan home, so my brother and I stayed with Hafida Aberdaz for 2 nights in Jan. We were made most welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was warm and private, and the beds were really cosy and comfortable. The delicious breakfast provided was so ample that it was quite difficult to squeeze in a lunch later on! It was great to meet the internationl guests, and we learned a lot over breakfast concerning other people's experiences with exploration trips and local restaurants. It was good to have local knowledge from Hafida too, without someone trying to sell us information or force their ulterior motivated amateur guiding services on us, so widespread Marrakech. Hafida's advice was helpful and sound. The Riad location was really good, right next to the palace walls, but I would advise prospective guests not to attempt to find the Riad on their own, because it would be virtually impossible, owing to lack of street names. It is well tucked away!
We had the most wonderful time in Marrakech, and I recommend it to anyone who likes an adventure, but it is a town where you need to be alert at all times, especially with regard to traffic. There is plenty to see, places to go the food is fabulous. There are numerous palaces and gardens (the Jardin Marjorelle is a feast for the eyes and the soul) and the locals are very friendly and interesting, so long as you can resist the heavy sales talk!
We would recommend "newbies" take the 25 hr city bus tours - there are 2, and they will give you a good sense of the geography of the surrounding areas outside the souk. We ate in the souk almost every day, with no ill effects whatsoever, and the salted almonds purchased from the stalls in the square come highly recommended. Don't be afraid to ask for samples, as the flavours can vary from stall to stall.
We are grateful to Hafida for welcoming us into her traditional home. I would love to come back sometime.
