Pet-friendly, beautifully restored townhouse in Downtown Frederick built in 1850, half a block from Market Street. Everything has been lovingly restored, floors hand-painted, beautiful chandeliers and mirrors throughout. The main bathroom features linen subway tile and tumbled marble floor. Fireplaces and the Victorian garden invite a retreat from the world...and all the amenities you'd expect from a high-class hotel.

The space
The house was restored several years ago and decorated by the previous owner, a talented interior designer. Plenty of radiator heat in the winter, plenty of central A/C in the summer, a full kitchen for a full Thanksgiving dinner, or relax and walk to one of many downtown restaurants. There is a full-size dining room, parlor and newly remodeled living room as soon as you enter the house. The bedrooms are large, spacious and cozy. The house has lots of "patina", which means it's near 225 years old so expect really cool but uneven floors, cranky door knobs, wavy walls and windows and enough charm to last at a lifetime.

Chill out in the fenced-in backyard in the beautiful Victorian garden, have a dinner on the patio and grill out on the gas grill, while your well-behaved dog runs in the yard.

The 1850 retreat is centrally located on the Civil War Trail, just a few minutes from Virginia and West Virginia and the Appalachian Trail. The Battlefields of Gettysburg and Antietam, as well as historic Harper's Ferry are each only a short 30 minute drive. Plan a day trip to the Smithsonian museums or the Baltimore Aquarium, each just an hour's drive. There's plenty of cool stuff to do right around Frederick however, see the Guidebook for more information.

The house is pet-friendly for an extra $150 charge per stay, charged when you book the house.

Guests can use the awesome fitness center 2 blocks away at the Talley Rec Center for $4. See house manual for details.

2-night minimum stay on weekends.

Early check-in/late checkout: Normal checkin time is 4pm, normal checkout time is 10am. For earlier checkin or later checkout, please contact us. If it is possible, there is a $25 charge and will be charged with a money request through Airbnb.

Where you’ll be

Frederick, Maryland, United States

The neighborhood is mostly resident middle class homeowners. Courtney is the neighbor on the left, quite friendly, and if you see him out front with his cute small dogs, he will likely offer to give you a walking history tour of Frederick. The Tourism Council of Frederick can handle that too...

Bill on the right hand of the house is a very nice elderly gentleman. His stoop is sometimes the defacto place for his friends to hang out and chat with him.

Other than the traffic out front, its a quiet neighborhood. Only steps away from Market Street attractions.
