Amy was very friendly and accommodating; she had lots of good recommendations for things to eat and do in Louisville!
The apartment was charming, and outfitted with lots of useful items like umbrellas, fans, extra blankets, tea, and so on.
The apartment was easy to find, large, and just as described. I've slept in more comfortable beds, and the shower is not ideal for a tall person, but my friend and I were still happy with our stay.
We only stayed with Amy for one night but were very happy with everything. I had chosen the place because of its location near the Iroquois Amphitheatre, and it was perfect for that. It was only a 30 min walk to get there, and Amy explained the directions very well.
The house itself is spacious, clean and completely as described here. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly and seemed very safe to me. Since it is located near the airport there is the occasional plane passing over (which didn't bother me).
Amy had maps of Louisville and plenty of suggestions on what to do. Since we only stayed for the night we only had time to try the recommended coffeeshop around the corner which was great.
Amy was a great host. She gave us a warm welcome, explained everything, and had even left some fruit, chocolate and self-baked cake for us to enjoy after our long trip. There was coffee and tea in the kitchen and cool water.
Thank you, Amy!!
Hawk's Eyrie was amazing and Amy was very accommodating and so nice to Bocefus (my dog) and I. Everything was absolutely great. The snacks were amazing. She even had snacks for the dog which the dog loved. Louisville is such a pretty town. I hope to come back and visit and I hope Amy will have me again.
The house was actually more spacious than I felt the listing showed. We went for a mom's weekend and there were 6 of us plus a baby. The house was great! Everything that we could possibly have wanted was right there. Amy even brought us over the newspaper supplement for an event we were going to so that we could use it to plan. The location was extremely convenient to downtown--several miles out, but on an easy, direct path.
The refrigerator was stocked with cold water bottles and the pantry had a good selection of tea as well as breakfast foods like oatmeal and granola bars.
If I came back to Louisville, this would be my first choice! It just felt nice and relaxing, like a home away from home should.

About the Host, Amy
My husband, Ken, a psychology professor at Spalding University, and I have been married over 30 years and have two children living far from home so we are frequently arranging overnight accommodations. We have enjoyed staying at bed and breakfasts for years and I have always dreamed of providing the hospitality and pleasure of a home away from home. I enjoy antiquing, gardening, sewing, and watching British murder mysteries. My husband tolerates the mysteries by spinning fleeces into wool yarn which he knits into coats, capes, and caps. He gardens, cans, makes jam, and sings songs about statistical deviation to his amused students. We love hiking and the outdoors; Ken is a dedicated runner as are our two children. We've lived in Louisville, KY for over 15 years, and in June 2013 purchased the duplex next door to our home. After months of renovations, the 100+year old home is ready for guests to enjoy its relaxed and cheery ambiance.
