Amy is a gracious host, we met her when we were coming in the first evening. Throughout our time there she would visit with us if she were outside, asking about what we had done that day, making suggestions about restaurants and places to visit, and making us feel at home. The location is great for visiting Louisville-close to many great places. The house is very quaint and "home-like." Be advised that the stairs going up to home are very steep, window units in the home are great unless it is extremely hot- but she did provide a few fans. Overall- a great place to stay! I would highly recommend!

Response from Amy:
Kris, thank you for your kind words. I am so very sorry that you were warm in the apartment, although after 8 days of 98' temperatures, it was hard to keep any place cool. We are always working to improve the apartment, and are excited about the major bathroom renovations planned later this year, so please come again! We thoroughly enjoyed having you ladies as our guests!

Amy's Hawk Eyrie was the perfect place to spend a few days in Louisville. The home was so warm and cozy! All the little touches made our stay perfect. She thought of everything. The porch area is the perfect spot to read the morning paper or book with a cup of coffee or enjoy a cold beverage at night. The locations was in a quiet neighborhood with cute little homes. The coffee shop down the street was perfect for the coffee lover in me. I can't wait to book another stay here perhaps in the fall.

Great home! Cozy, comfortable, clean, great location and neighborhood. A nice home away from home .Amy is an excellent hostess, upon our arrival, she had snacks and cold water for us . She left delicious homemade cake and fresh fruit waiting for us on 2 different occasions upon our return to the house. She communicated to make sure we had all we needed , but was very respectful of our privacy . I only have positive things to say .

My husband, Ken, a psychology professor at Spalding University, and I have been married over 30 years and have two children living far from home so we are frequently arranging overnight accommodations. We have enjoyed staying at bed and breakfasts for years and I have always dreamed of providing the hospitality and pleasure of a home away from home. I enjoy antiquing, gardening, sewing, and watching British murder mysteries. My husband tolerates the mysteries by spinning fleeces into wool yarn which he knits into coats, capes, and caps. He gardens, cans, makes jam, and sings songs about statistical deviation to his amused students. We love hiking and the outdoors; Ken is a dedicated runner as are our two children. We've lived in Louisville, KY for over 15 years, and in June 2013 purchased the duplex next door to our home. After months of renovations, the 100+year old home is ready for guests to enjoy its relaxed and cheery ambiance.
