The Space

Adorable studio ideally located and well decorated. Very quiet, located at 12th and top floor of a tower. 180 degree breathtaking view over the whole easter part of Montreal (you can see the Olympic stadium, Jacques Cartier Bridge, a bit of St-Lawrence river etc). Steps from the entertainment district, McGill University, downtown, Plateau, Mount Royal and St-Laurent. Basically, you can walk everywhere (WalkScore of 100!) but the studio is also close from metro St-Laurent and Place des Arts, Bixi station nearby.

You will find Everything to be happy and inspired: silence, espresso machine, good selection of teas, comfortable retro furniture, books on architecture, large balcony (with no neighbour), organic shampoo and soap etc.. And of course, all the basic stuff is there : wifi, stove, microwave, fridge, washer+dryer in the building, etc.

I use it as a secret writing spot and I almost never sleep there, you will therefore not be cluttered with my personal belongings. And as I live next door, I'm there if you need anything.

All cleaning is done with eco-friendly products.
Smoking allowed on the balcony.
Several : a few free street parking spots are available if you are lucky" There is also indoor/outdoor across the street.

  • Everything went smoothly to access the studio.
The view of Montreal was great, but the balcony was too small to actually enjoy.
Unfortunately Montreal was experiencing a heat wave while we were there and the studio has no air conditioning. The fans provided helped a bit.

  • Elise and her husband were very friendly and accommodating by making sure we knew how to get there from the train station, greeting us when we arrived and providing some flexibility on our check-out time. The apartment was cozy but comfortable and the perfect size for a couple visiting Montreal for a few days. It was clean and nicely furnished with a two-person dining table, comfy reading chair, futon bed and a small kitchen for preparing breakfast (we ate out mostly). We loved relaxing on the balcony with a morning coffee or evening drink and enjoying the view. The building has a secure entrance and we felt quite safe there. The location is very close to St-Laurent Blvd and is walking distance to many restaurants, shops, bars and cafes, including those in Mile End, on Rue Duluth and St-Denis. Mount Royal park is also close, as is downtown and access to the Metro. Our taxi ride from the train station was only 5 mins. We would definitely come back if we could and have already recommended Elise's listing to a friend.

  • I had a great stay at Elise's place who was very understanding and flexible when my travel changed twice and I arrived a day later than expected. While this may a small space, the view of the city from the patio is excellent and the location is hard to beat. The apartment is within walking distance of downtown, Mont Blanc, and the plateau. There is a subway station just a few blocks away and a Bixi bicycle station a single block away, both providing convenient transportation to other parts of the city. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Montreal and looking for a great, affordable place to stay.

  • Elise est accueillante. Son appart est très bien situé. Pas de quoi faire à manger, mais le quartier regorge d'endroits sympas pour manger ou grignoter.

  • Elise was a wonderful host. The location is close to the convention center, which was ideal for my stay, and easy to get to from the airport (the 747 bus stops nearby). The apartment is well-furnished for its size, and quite comfortable for a couple, especially if you plan on being out and about. The shower, as other people have mentioned, may be possessed :) but as long as you move out of the way when it starts pouring boiling water on you, or just turn off the hot water for a moment, you should be fine. My gf and I enjoyed our stay.

  • We had a great stay at Elise's place. This flat is in a great area, close to Mont Royal, Mile End and Downtown. We walked everywhere! Great value and perfect for a couple visiting Montreal.

  • Elise's loft is in an ideal section. It has easy access to the metro for quick travel around the city. The studio apartment is very small, but functions well. Whenever we had a problem, Elise was quick to respond. We did not use the built in kitchen, except the small refrigerator, because we ate out every night.

The only thing we were concerned about was the bath water, which is a problem with the building itself and not anything that is Elise's fault. You just need to be aware for safety 's sake. The water turns burning hot out of the blue. We saw other's reviews concerning this issue, so we're very careful to keep the water at a cool setting. Despite this, we both had the water turn burning hot. You could burn yourself, so be careful. Very concerning if one had a child. Again, this is a problem with the building, and not Elise.

We had a great trip! Thank you Elise!
