James was so kind and very helpful. Everything was perfect whenwe arrived. The house is really nice and very confortable. I really enjoyed the garden and the stay was perfect.
Nice big ol' house, social too, friendly, easy parking on the street but you have to move it a few times a week to the other side. Back yard and front pouch to lounge or work and a reading room too. No real street noise. Felt like a safe area. Fairly Central. Reasonable price too.
I had an awesome stay at James' place. James and Kirk made me feel extremely welcome and I always had great conversations them. Since I am moving to L.A., they were very helpful in letting me know what to do and even showed me around Hollywood. The house is huge and is an accurate description. There are movie posters everywhere and it is a very welcoming and comfortable home. There have even been some movies and shows filmed right in the house! I really liked how you were given your own shelf in the fridge, pantry and bathroom to put all your things. I spent many days on the porch having some wine and always felt very safe in the neighborhood. It is a great location because it is right off of the 10 and very easy to get to all parts of the city. Overall, my stay was great and I would recommend staying here if you are coming to L.A. for a short or long term vacation.
This is a small nice room in a big house. James, Kirk, and Silvie are nice and friendly. I feel safe and enjoy staying here. They take care the house well and work professionally. If you are looking for comfortable and safe place for temporarily stay in LA. This place is absolutely a very good choice.
I had an extremely pleasant month staying here. The room was cozy and comfortable and although I didn't avail myself of it, James showed me an annex where I could work. The house itself is very charming -it has a really authentic and positive vibe to it- and people staying there very interesting. A collection of personalities! The area the house is in is a really pleasant, quiet neighborhood and for me personally was ideally located as it's a stone's throw from the Clark Library where I had a fellowship (well worth visiting if you stay here). Parking was very easy, Wifi worked very well and was fast, and the kitchen was well equipped. I'll add on a personal note that not only is James friendly and welcoming but he's also a very decent guy. I had to cancel a reservation 2 years ago when my mother passed away and he still gave me a generous discount to fully cover losing the deposit back then (even though non-refundable). It would be a pleasure to stay here again. Thank you!
I had a great time at James' house! He was so welcoming and helpful and was great to talk to as well. He has a lot of interesting stories and knew the history of his neighborhood. Kirk was also very nice and helpful as well. All the house guests were very kind. I sat in the chair in my room and worked on my laptop most of the time (I work from home). No one ever knocked on my door while it was closed. Everyone respects your privacy. If you want to hang out, people are available. It's the perfect balance of privacy and socializing when you want. The house is very large so even though there may be a lot of people staying there at any given time, you definitely have your own space. The house is centrally located to everything. So this is a great location if you need to visit all parts of LA. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and the neighbors seemed very friendly. There is plenty of street parking as well. I had a great experience during my stay and decided to move permanently to LA. Thanks for being such a great host James!
