I have a beautiful bedroom available in a 4 bedroom apartment in trendy and charming Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Just 4 blocks from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L line (a mere 5 minutes from Manhattan), the location can’t be beat. What’s more, this neighborhood has been featured as one of the new spots to visit while in New York City. There are plenty of boutiques, small businesses and art galleries as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Plus two parks, one with a variety of activities and a weekly green market, and the other with a beautiful view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.
Speaking of which, the rooftop in the building is equipped with a deck, chairs and even grills… and another postcard view of the Manhattan skyline.
Radiant and spacious, this private bedroom is the perfect place to stop for a few days. Whether you want to relax or go out to the city, you will have an inviting place to come back to at the end of the day.
The bedroom is furnished with a bed, two side tables, a desk, and a built-in closet, and has plenty of extra room for anything else you might want to bring.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge and a new stove, and you’re welcome to make use of them anytime. A variety of teas are available.
The bathroom is spacious, has tons of storage and a full bath tub for those cold days in which you need to thaw out with a bath. The showerhead has 6 different settings for a spa-like experience. Towels, and natural hygiene products (shampoo, body wash and conditioner) are included in your rate.
The large living room is bathed in light from huge windows. There is a lending library that you’re invited to make use of.
Wireless internet is secure, and there is free laundry in the building. All of this is included in your rate as well.
From time to time, there will be workshops on spirituality, yoga, food, art, massage and other interesting subjects held in the living room. You're welcome to participate as part of your stay in this oasis in the middle of bustling NYC. Healing, Massage, and Life Coaching sessions are also available at an additional cost.
Lastly, yes, I live here as well and am available to answer questions and guide you during your visit.
-All towels and linens
-Free and secure wifi
-Free laundry in the building
-Use of kitchen
-Spacious private bedroom
-Free participation in workshops and events
I want my guests to feel at home, so please feel free to keep stuff in the fridge, cook in the kitchen, chill in the living room, or take a relaxing bath. You'll also have access to free laundry in the building, as well as a fabulous rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Empire State building and the midtown Manhattan skyline.
Please note: while there is an elevator, please ask me before using it as it requires specific instructions.
Interaction with Guests
This is where I live, and I like it to feel homey. That means I enjoy interacting with my guests, making them feel at home and sometimes hanging out or going to brunch together. Not a requirement, but it's nice to connect with the people you're sharing your living space with.
Also, I'm always available to answer questions about the neighborhood, restaurants, things to do, etc.
Our location can't be beat! We are located in one of the best neighborhoods, and one of the best parts of the neighborhood.
It's actually really hard to go to a restaurant that serves mediocre food around here. Cafe Mogador, Sweetwater, Egg, 5 Leaves, Sea, Chai Thai, El Almacen are a few of my favorite.
There's so many gourmet coffee shops with ridiculously good coffee that it's hard to decide which one to go to sometimes. And Bakeri, a European style coffee shop and bakery is less than a block away and so good! Guests often like to grab their continental breakfast there (and so do I!).
Designer boutiques with interesting and fun clothes and gifts abound, and health food stores stay open until midnight so you can have a fresh young coconut or fresh-pressed green juice on your way home from dinner.
Plus, we are a block away from the East River State Park, which hosts the Brooklyn Flea market and Smorgasburg, two awesome not-to-be-missed attractions that tourists and locals from all over the city come for.
We're also 5 blocks from McCarren park, with its track field, tennis courts, and the farmers' market on Saturdays.
This neighborhood feels homey and like a small town with small businesses that have tons of character. The people-watching is fantastic, and it has a laid-back vibe… yet we're only 5 minutes from Union Square in Manhattan!
The Bedford Avenue stop on the L line is only 4 blocks from the apartment, and it will take you into Manhattan within 5 minutes. Pretty much anything you would want to go to is 15-20 minutes away.
Off-street parking is available, though you'd have to make sure to move your car to the right side of the street every couple of days to avoid tickets.
Directions from JFK:
To get here, the cheapest way would be to take the subway.
1) Take the AirTrain to Howard Beach station
2) Take the A train towards Manhattan.
3) Get off at Broadway Junction and transfer to the L train towards Manhattan
4) Get off at the Bedford Avenue station (the last station before Manhattan)
5) Walk 2 blocks north to N 9 Street
6) Make a left on N 9 Street and walk 2 more blocks
The trip normally takes about 1 1/2 hours, and it cost $7 per person..
For the fastest way, take a taxi, which is usually about $35-40.
Lastly, the medium option is to take a door-to-door airport shuttle, which I believe is about $15 per person (but I've never taken it so I don't really know).
This is a safe space for fun, exploration and transformation. Please take advantage and feel free to be yourself. The only restrictions are as follows:
No smoking or pets are allowed. Also, being a sacred space, we ask that you remove your shoes at the door. Use of the kitchen is free, but please be respectful and clean up after yourself.
Enjoy your stay!
Me and my girlfriend spent 3 nights in this apartment, which stands out by being a relatively cheap accommodation in a fantastic neighborhood.
The room itself is pretty basic, with a bed (that is really an air mattress on top of a box), a night table, a desk and a closet. The room is located in an apartment shared by Melody and two roomies, so you share bathroom with 3 others.
As it is a building in the middle of Williamsburg, there is obviously a little noisy, and the walls in the apartment aren't the thickest, so expect some noise. It didn't really matter to us, as we spent all our time around Manhattan (which is 10 minutes away by metro) and Williamsburg just outside the door, which is a fantastic place.
The area is filled with fantastic restaurants, cafes, and small shops and the apartment is 2 blocks away from a fantastic view over eastern Manhattan - really beautiful at night!
Melody is very kind and helpful. She gave good advise on great places to eat, and was in all three days very available for us! There were absolutely no problems with our stay, so it was all in all a great experience.
- fantastic neighborhood
- relatively cheap for the location
- Melody is very kind
- good WiFi
- a bit noisy room, and curtains are very thin and doesn't block out the light at all
- you share bathroom with 3 other rooms
- no TV
- not the best "bed" - but for an air mattress it's actually quite good!
Bardzo przyjemne miejsce, w jednej z najładniejszych okolic Nowego Jorku. Wygodny dojazd do/z Manhattanu. Właścicielka bardzo dba o to, żeby jej goście czuli się jak w (website hidden) pewno wrócę tam, jeśli tylko pojawi się taka możliwość.
Highly recommended! Great location, the neighbourhood feels like a town in the middle of New York. You could hear birds singin in the morning and light coming through the huge windows.
The house has an inner peace, and Melody is part of that. She is very welcoming, open minded and laid-back. Which makes you feel at home!
There is also a great yoga place by the corner and tones of enchanting cafés and organic markets two steps away!
And.. You would also be delighted by the pianist who lives a floor above and plays Chopin, Bach and Beethoven in reasonable hours.
Melody is a welcoming and helpful host and an inspiring person. She knows all about her exciting neighborhood and has neat tips for places to go. Her apartment was perfect for me: ideally located (quiet but also right in the middle of everything you could wish for), nicely done up, clean, and amazingly sunny. Pre-travel communication with Melody went smoothly. I stayed at Melody’s for a couple of weeks and only left with a heavy heart.
We adored staying at Melody's home. The space is so special, full of white light and very spacious.
Melody made us feel very welcome when we arrived & was a pleasure to share a space with for 2 weeks.
The location is perfect i couldn't have imagined staying anywhere else, so easy to go into manhattan even though it was hard to leave Williamsburg as its such a special place with amazing restaurants and a great vibe, felt super safe 24/7.
Melody's apartment is a cool place to crash, I didn't spend too much time in the apartment and it worked great for me. The location is perfect - Williamsburg is the coolest neighborhood to stay in NYC. And as a bonus - an amazing view from the roof.
Melody was very nice and was there to help for everything I needed.
