My October 2012 month long trip to Paris was the first time I rented an apartment rather than staying in a hotel. My experience was exceptional and I would highly recommend this approach to anyone traveling to a city for over a week. Amandine was a joy to work with. She was so welcoming in meeting me at the apartment upon my arrival with bread, cheese, wine, the best wild blueberry jam, and lots of tips on how best to enjoy the apartment and the city. She was wonderful in offering recommendations of restaurants and events to try out. She arranged private transportation for me from the airport, which was wonderful after a long flight. She served as a great resource throughout my entire stay and made me feel more secure as I knew nobody else in Paris.
Now about the apartment - it has the perfect location just a few doors down from the beginning of the outdoor market portion or Rue Cler. There are so many wonderful cafes and restaurants to try out, lots of fresh fruit, cheeses, boulangeries and wine shops - you never have to leave the area if you don't want to. But when you do, the Metro station is very close by, only a 5 minute walk. I loved that the area is lively without being too loud, and that no matter what time of day or night, I always felt walking on my own. I walked to the Eiffel Tower on several evenings (10 minutes) and other days I walked to the River (10 minutes). The Orsay Museum, Invalides, Rodin Museum, and several other attractions are also close by. Another great plus is that Rue St Dominique, a road with several wonderful, well reviewed famous restaurants, is right next to the apartment. I would recommend Thoumieux, Cafe Constant, and Cocette.
The apartment itself is very comfortable. It actually feels larger than the pictures show. The sitting area is bright and spacious. The kitchen in well equipped with everything needed. The bedroom has a very large walk-in closet as well as a large bathroom. The bed as well as the futon in the sitting area were both very comfortable. The weekly cleaning service was wonderful in that I did not have to worry about washing towels or linens.
The only problems I had were regarding the phone in the apartment, which was not working during my visit. Though Amandine supplied me with a local cell phone which was helpful, I did spend considerable time and money going to get it recharged. So if having a phone is important to you, check to ensure its working before your trip.
I would highly recommend the above apartment to anyone visiting Paris. I had a wonderful time. The month flew by very fast. I look forward to my next trip and returning to this perfect apartment in the 7th.
we stay in this lovely apartment from 6-13 June 2012. Amandine welcome us with red wine, croissants, french loaf, butter, jam... etc. She also provides us with Paris city map and brief us on where to go around Paris and where to dine & wine. This apartment is conveniently situated near the market, a lot of bakeries, supermarkets, restaurants, Metro stations just few minutes walk, Eiffel tower also just walking distance. The apartment is clean, cozy and nicely decorated. kitchen also equip with oven, dish washer, refrigerator, washing machine... great that i choose the right apartment. will definitely recommend to my family & friends to stay in Amandine's apartments =)
My husband, 20-year old daughter and I just returned from a 9-night stay at the 1 bd near the Eiffel Tower. From beginning to end, we had a wonderful time. Isabel, Amandine's associate, met us at the apartment with wine, croissants, baguettes, Easter chocolates, fig jam, and maps for our travels. The apartment was very comfortable. The location was perfect! We had everything we needed right downstairs...cheese shops, butcher, baker, patisserie, fruit markets, grocery stores, cafes, pharmacies...it's all there. The apartment had everything we needed. It was comfortable and the furnishings seem as if they are pretty new. The apartment was very clean. The bathtub was a bit of a challenge initially, but we all got used to it very quickly. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher. There was a washer, but we didn't use it so I can't comment. There was lovely charm with the beautiful wooden floors, the moldings on the ceiling, and the beautiful and large windows. The apartment faced the interior courtyard, so it was very quiet. It was wonderful and Amandine was even kind enough to let our daughter stay a little longer in the apartment because she had a later flight than we did. I would definitely stay here again, and also recommend Amandine for future rentals.
It was a fabulous stay in Paris! Rue Cler is a fabulous place to stay, near to boulangerie, fromagerie e very good cafes, and the apartment is very nice!
We enjoyed the wine and cheese in our reception day and the hospitality of Sue and Amandine.
