Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
This cabin has a hexagon shape with a square porch where the front door is. The Hexagon, as I call it, is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland. On the morning sun side, where the door is, the decking leads to the little purpose built bathroom building. There is a perspex canopy so you can walk over staying dry even if it is raining. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.

The space
The hexagon shaped cabin has decking on both sides to enjoy morning sun as well as evening sun. The cuckoo is around from the end of April until the end of May. The Owenwee river with salmon and trout runs on about 200 Meter distance. Westport town is on 5 Km distance. Clew bay 2 Km . Nearest beach 7 Km.

Just ask for help if needed

The neighbourhood of this place is extremely friendly and there is a big sense of community here.

Public transport, busses and trains, is available in Westport. There is a safe opportunity to cycle to town. Four shops there have bicycles for hire. The bus to and from Clifden stops at Knappagh, 2.5km.

Guest access
There is a nice and safe place to park the car at the bottom of the path leading to the cabin.
Guests are free to roam the one third of an acre around the cabin. There are beautiful walks around without having to use the car. One of the few native woods left is only 2 Km away.
The beach on 7 Km distance is Bertra Beach. Just before Louisburgh is another beach, Old Head, with a pier and also woodlands. Walking through that you'll find yourself on a high plateau looking out on the ocean and Clare Island.
From 1 April till 1 October I don't take bookings for less than 3 nights.

Other things to note
Westport town has great entertainment possibilities. Lots of traditional music, also good blue grass and jazz. Many coffee shops and restaurants and indeed a great choice of very interesting and unique shops.
Ireland's holy mountain, the Croack Patrick, is 6 Km further into the direction of Louisburgh.

I am a happy person. I am retired, but extremely busy with all the things I love: minding my animals and garden, studying, playing music and painting and writing.
