The Oswald (named after my favourite Roald Dahl book, my Uncle Oswald) is a cosy double bedroom on the second floor of the house. The room receives ample light through a large sash window, has a solid timber double bed and art deco writing desk.
The Oswald Room
The Oswald (named after my favourite Roald Dahl book, my Uncle Oswald) is a cosy double bedroom on the second floor of the house. The room receives ample light through a large sash window, has a solid timber double bed and a writing desk. Smaller than the other rooms this room is nestled in the centre of the property and is perfect for singles or couples who don't mind a cosy room.
The Beach House
Within the grounds of the Eco Garden, in the heart of Bondi Beach, is an expansive two story guest house featuring four private bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large combined kitchen and dining room.
Each room has its own distinctive character while the shared rooms feature an eclectic mix of modernist furniture, re-purposed items and eco friendly materials.
Nestled within the leafy end of Hall Street, Bondi, it is designed to provide a balance between private room accommodation and a social experience. Each room provides something different whether you prefer to look out on the gardens and tennis courts to the rear of the property, or enjoy the morning sun and bird song from the garden rooms to the front.
Beautiful, Natural Living
All natural organic finishes are used throughout, including wooden floors to ensure your stay is as healthy as it is relaxing. The combined kitchen and social area features a dining table large enough to accommodate all of the apartment's guests who are invited to share a meal together.
The dining area leads onto the exterior deck overlooking the garden where you can enjoy an evening drink and watch the sun set over the Bondi valley.
Deck and Garden
Enjoy summer on the deck! A large permaculture garden is underway in the rear garden including our 5 Rhode Island Red hens who lay delicious fresh eggs most days of the week. Private benches in the garden provide further opportunity to spend some time alone and you may even get a chance to talk to the Kookaburras or Rosellas who have made the garden their home as you enjoy the sound of our waterfall or rock gracefully in the hammock over the pond's deck.
Bondi beach only 5 minutes away!
Venturing out to Bondi's buzzing cafes and small bars takes all of a couple of minutes and the beach is only a further 5 minutes away. After the beach grab your racquet and enjoy a game of tennis at the wonderful courts adjoining the property, or stroll across a block and catch the bus service into the city.
The Eco Garden Guest House has been designed for people who want a stylish yet social stay in Bondi sans the backpacker crowds.

We had a lovely stay at the Eco Garden Guest House, the Oswald room is just so fine to sleep. Breakfast with fresh Eggs from "The girls" and bread from organic bakery, Mhhh so nice to start your day like that. We're planning to go back to Australia one day, and we surely going to the Eco Garden Guest House !!! Thanks David & Liza
Had a lovely time here. Just a short stroll to Bondi beach, bars and cafes. The house itself has a really friendly, chill vibe.
Staying at Daves place was great. We got in at 11.00 at night and the house and then keys and then room were easy to find. The room was good and comfortable and well presented. The bathroom and kitchen were well appointed and clean. We will stay again.
Fantastic host, perfect location, lovely home, comfortable atmosphere. The other guests were wonderful, interesting people. Can't imagine a better place to stay in Sydney!
Although I didn't meet Dave, he was easy to communicate with and ensured arriving and departing was easy. The house is in a great location minutes from cafés on Hall Street, and there's a bus connection to Bondi Junction. It's nicely decorated and there's a good kitchen and communal dining area, along with nice shared bathrooms. When the garden is finished is should be awesome (backs onto tennis courts for extra ambience), but at the time I was there there was still some apparently minor works being completed.
Dave's place was a very pleasant surprise - I didn't expect much (it was an emergency booking to cover a gap), but I would definitely go back there! First of all, you'll definitely like Dave - the kind of person you hope you meet when travelling, and the kind of host/owner you want to have wherever you go! But then you'll also like the house: clean, tastefully decorated (and that's something not that easy to find around Bondi, at a decent price)... it feels like home. Somehow Dave also manages to attract the right people - I met some interesting folks there, and I am sure you will too! Enjoy!
