550ft/51m2 Real center of Paris !

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Rue Saint Denis, Paris, Ile-de-France 75002, France

The Space

Large quiet studio apartment in the very heart of Paris (5 min from Chatelet Les Halles, two blocks from the trendy rue Montorgueil). Literally hundreds of places around to have a drink and eat, truly the best neighborhood for all your shopping needs!

The studio apartment consists of a large living room with a full size TEMPUR bed (140x190cm, accommodates two) and a large comfy couch, bathroom with bathtub / hair drier and a small kitchen so you can cook at home if you want (utensils available, fridge, microwave - there is a large grocery store on the same block). Washing machine available.
100 Mbps (Fiber optic) Internet / Wi-Fi / cable / PC available for use / video projector with instructions and tons of HD movies in English :) Cordless phone with free and unlimited calls to many destinations on landline numbers (France, all Europe, USA, Canada, China, Japan…). Free calls to US and Canadian mobile phones...

NEW: 3G / Wifi Dongle provided

With the 3G / Wifi dongle, you can use your smartphone or laptop anywhere in the streets at no cost instead of using the expensive data roaming of your cellphone provider.
The dongle acts as a portable modem that uses the 3G network and gives you full access to it via wifi (email, internet...).
It is 100% free of charge for you.

The building has a closed courtyard where you can secure your bike if needed, and if you don't have a bike, Velib' stations (bike rental) are a mere 100 yards away.
Closest subway stations are Etienne Marcel (line 4) and Reaumur Sebastopol (lines 4,3) both are within 2 minutes walking distance. Also many bus lines if you don’t fancy subways.
Chatelet-Les Halles is very close to the studio (5 min by foot), it's the biggest hub for subway/RER (express subway) lines in Paris, so it's VERY accessible and convenient. It can't take you more than 30 min to go anywhere in Paris from the studio (unless there is a strike, eh! This is France after all…). The Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris, Pompidou Modern Art Museum are all within easy walking distance.

From Chatelet-Les Halles, direct express line to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle international airport (a 50 minutes ride).
The whole neighborhood is very lively, it's considered to be one the trendiest place to live in. Plenty of designer’s stores around, traditional and exotic places to eat... The studio looks onto the backyard, so it stays very quiet during the night.

I provide a full instructions booklet in English so that you can use all the apartment’s apparatus in full.
Clean sheets and towels provided.

Non smoking place, no pet allowed.
No cleaning fee / No deposit asked. The apartment is fully cleaned before your arrival and after your departure.

  • When we arrived a little early then agreed, Axel send us a reply and told us he'd be there in half an hour. Meanwhile he SMSd me the wifi password so at least we could surf while waiting
The apartment was great! Very spacious for a couple, very centrally located, just 2 minutes walk from the Reaumur-Sebastopol Metro.
The street is live at night, and when we read the reviews we were a bit worried about the sex shops, but we ended up not noticing them.
Axel provides a 3g modem, so we didn't purchase an roaming plan, and unfortunately it didn't work.
When we contacted Axel, he tried to solve it, contacted Orange, and it worked 1 time. When it stopped working again, Axel unfortunately didn't respond, but he said he'd be abroad by that time. So my advice is not to count on that 3g modem if you are planning to use internet while out and about and bring your own solution.
Other than that, we we're VERY impressed with everything, Axel is indeed a great host, and his apartment is where you wanna spend your days. The FEMUR bed is amazing, and while it was very hot outside, 2 fans and we slept under a blanket with no problems.
We're both Tech fans, and having a giant screen and a projector to recap on today's trip was very comfortable.
The fridge is stocked with sodas and jams. And there was a ball of fresh fruit in the kitchen.
Axel told us we can go through the cabinets in the kitchen if we need something, and everything was covered, from plastic cups, to sushi sticks.
Axel went over everything with us, and had a helpful guide on the coffee table, with step by step instructions, on how to turn on the TV, the surround sound, the projector, and even the huge arcade game.
He also has a computer, and it's connected to a printer, which saved us when we needed to print tickets to disneyland and versailles palace.
There are tons of good restaurants, and Axel said he has no specific recommendations, but with the super high speed fibre internet, and Foursquare, we found a great sushi place near by, Rice and Fish, as well as other not bad places.

All in all, while the 3g thing was a little upsetting as we were counting on it, it wasn't at all Axels fault, and he did try to fix it.
Other than that, he was a great host, and the apartment has everything you need to feel like a Parisian.

We will recommend Axels place to every friend who wants to stay in Paris!

  • What an awesome experience! We are really tech fans, and having a huge screen, a 3-displays computer, a superb sound system, an arcade machine, 100mbps internet, etc, really made our Paris trip a very unique journey. The location is great, very well connected with the metro, safe, and lively at night, with many bars and restaurants to have dinner or a drink. As a host, Axel was great! We will definitely be back the next time we visit the wonderful PARIS!!

  • Fabulous studio with everything you could need for your stay in Paris. Axel was a great host. The only problem with our stay was that the TEMPUR bed was so comfy we didn't want to get out of it!!

  • Axel's apartment was as described and better. So much space in the center of Paris. Axel met us upon arrival, offered to carry our bags up the stairs and gave us a full download on the numerous amenities of the place. Wifi worked really well and plenty of hot water. We also appreciate the beverages and breakfast food he left for us - especially the chocolate pudding!

    Thanks for a great stay!

  • Fantastic accommodations!
We visited Paris for a week, staying at Axel's place the whole time. The location was terrific - right around the corner from a metro stop and pretty much central to anything you could want to do.
When we arrived the apartment was clean with a stocked fridge and a fresh loaf of bread on the kitchen counter. The apartment had all of the homey comforts we were looking for. The projector screen is awesome and we were able to use his computer as well. He left us a wifi dongle that was a must for exploring the city. We were able to use our US cell phones just as if we were home (using (website hidden) voice).
I would highly recommend Axel's apartment. We had a wonderful experience in the city and staying at Axel's definitely made it that much better. I feel like I've lived like a real Parisian now - oh la la!

  • L'appartement était très bien. Axel a été très accommodant. Le quartier est particulier, mais près de tout.

    January 2013
  • The apartment was exactly as described. Axel met us on time and insisted on carrying both of our bags up the stairs. He had the fridge and cupboards stocked with milk, bread, cereal, soft drinks etc. A book with crystal clear instructions guided us through the tv, Internet etc. The wifi is fast and the wireless dongle was great when we were out and about.
The apartment is perfectly located close to the metro, though it's only a 15 minute walk to the Seine and Louvre.
Don't be put off by the sex shop on the street nearby. The neighborhood is fine and the apartment is very quiet and secure.
There is a great little wine bar opposite the apartment. They have their own family champagne and fantastic oysters shucked at your table.

  • super, perfect, nice and a wonderful fun-place!

    December 2012
  • We only stayed at Axel place for 2 days, and that is the best stay we had on our europe trip. The location close to 2 metros, although it kind of a bit scary at night (as the street has quite a nos of peep show and bar), and not to mention the apartment common area is dark as well.
We can use all the things inside the apartment, from comp, dongle, coffee machine, washing machine, free drinks and food in the fridge.
Axel is very accommodating and helpful as well, he doesnt mind we need to check in earlier as well, and will wait for us near the apartment.
I will definitely recommend to all my frds going there :)

  • The apartment is great and Axel is a perfect host.

The location is central and has easy access to the metro. You can also walk pretty much everywhere from it.

There are also lots of restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, even one good vegan place: Bob's Kitchen.

The apartment itself is very comfortable and perfect for a couple. The large screen and projector are great to watch movies, you can use the computer and internet. What really makes a big difference is the portable internet unit which helped us a lot during our tour of the city.

This place is the perfect apartment for the perfect vacation and is very recommended.
