About This Listing
Stylish cozy design studio flat in the heart of Trastevere. 35 sqm of Italian design, just renovated with love. Suspended wide double bed (NEW from Dec. 2014), super comfy design single sofabed (NEW from Apr. 2015). Antique building, cool atmosphere.
The space is perfect for two people: now (latest renovation March 2015) I have a wide and comfortable suspended double bed, plus a super comfy Danish design single sofabed (NEW from Apr. 2015) downstairs.
To reach the suspended bed you go up 5 beautifully designed stairs: beauty in design does not always mean comfort and the stairs are a bit high so not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
I keep on renovating the flat for myself, so I choose every single detail with special care.
Fancy that the new suspended bed structure has been made by a blacksmith which is not only an artist himself, but he is also the craftsman making the iron sculptures by Jannis Kounellis, the world famous artist.
I love design but I love tradition as well, so you will live in a contemporary cool place in a noble antique building. On the top of that, my neighbours are amazing people. The atmosphere is really cosy here. But I would say in Trastevere in general: think of this area like a small antique village in the middle of Rome.
I hope you will enjoy my apartment and feel at home. The flat is completely furnished and equipped for living. You will find on the table a complete Home Guide, but feel free to contact me for suggestions about where to buy food or have a nice walk.
Check-in and check-out time are set on AirBnB but I will always do my best to be flexible. Very often if you arrive before 3pm you can come, leave your luggage and take the keys while we prepare the flat for you. And when you leave, when we don't have a check-in on the same day, it will be my pleasure to let you check-out later than 10am.
Interaction with Guests
I travel often and when I am in Italy I usually stay in Milan. So it is likely I will not be there to welcome you when you arrive. But you will be welcomed by the sweetest woman in the world, my friend Helena: she is nice and helpful, I am sure she will make you feel at home.
Trastevere is a very special place, it is like a village in the middle of Rome. Alleys, small shops, old people sitting in the street in the summertime and a lot of nice bars to have an "aperitivo" in the evening. This used to be the artists' district in Rome, and the tradition is still alive. Every young and not so young Roman come to Trastevere in the weekend to have a nice goood romantic dinner.
Trastevere is walking distance from many attractive places, but it is well connected by public transports as well. It is walking distance from Campo de' Fiori (5 min), Piazza Navona (10/15 min), Pantheon (15/20 min), Piazza Venezia and Campidoglio (15/20 min), St.Peter's (20/30 min), Piazza di Spagna (30/40 min), Colosseum (40 min). I always walk to my appointments :)
Getting here from the airport or the central train station is quite easy: from Fiumicino Airport take the train to Fara Sabina/Orte (not the one to Termini central station: it takes longer and it is more expensive) and stop at Trastevere station. Then take the tram 8 and get off at Piazza Sonnino stop. The flat is 5 minutes walking.
From Ciampino Airport take the bus to Termini central train station, then take the bus "H" to Piazza Sonnino (the first stop after the bridge on the Tiber river).
Other Things to Note
I am new on AirBnB so I will be happy to note your suggestions. I have done my best to make the flat cosy, beautiful and special. I am sure you will have a nice experience in Trastevere. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming here.
I need to ask not to smoke in the flat. Let's keep it comfortable for the following guests ;) I prefer not to allow pets, the flat is not big enough for them. Everything is brand new or completely renovated, so please do not use candles (the moonlight in the alleys is at least as romantic!) and be respectful of everything as it were yours. I spent all my money to make things the best way: my aim is to make your stay in Trastevere unforgettable!
From Jul 7 - 11, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
It was my best experience in Airbnb! The studio is perfected located in Trastevere: close to a lot of pubs and restaurants, close to a bus stop and taxi point (which is very usefull), close to drugstores and supermarkets and, although all this, you don´t hear the noise of the Trastevere nightlife because is located in a small and quiet street. So I found it perfect.
The studio has everthing you need for a good stay in Rome. It´s in a first floor, has a very good bed and sofa and a security door. I didn´t have any problem there. Everthing worked fine (hot water, air conditioner, internet).
Simone was so great and kind! She made a list of many interest points in Rome and the directions and ways to go to the studio. Some instructions of what to do in case of any problem and some tips of Roman life style!
So, definitelly, next time Rome, I will be back at Simone´s Studio and I strongly recomend it!
I highly recommend this airbnb due to both the apartment and Simone, the host. He was always prompt with correspondence; was both thoughtful and helpful; and is meticulous with attention to detail. When there was a slight mix up at check in, he immediately took care of everything and went out of his way to make things even better for us. He also took up his time to schedule a car and driver for us for check out and followed up to be sure everything was on track. He elevates your stay in Rome to something spectacular.
As for the apartment, it was spacious and clean. It had all the amenities you could want. Its location was perfect. We always felt safe. It was even better than described or that pictures show. We hope to return.
We really enjoyed our stay at Simone’s apartment. The apartment is very well located and ensured that we could walk to all of the major sites in Rome. The area is particularly nice with lots of colourful buildings and a vibrant community. It was nice to return to this area every night.
Simone’s recommendations was really helpful, and there are some great restaurants, pizzerias and gilati in the area. The apartment had everything we needed and is exactly as described.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at simone s place and it was SUPER. Simone really is a super host. nice, communicates quickly and his guest book is a must for a fun visit to Rome. Great recommendations.
The flat is really small but has everything you need like people wrote before me. The best part is the location , you really couldn't ask for a better location in Rome. All the fun places to sit at the evening are at a minutes walk, and going out in the morning to this beautiful street is a wonderful begining for the day. Everything there is to see in Rome is in a walking distance. We highly recommend this place!
I stayed with a friend of mine at Simone's flat for 7 days and it was a great experience. The studio was nice and confortable with all we needed. The location was excellent next to plenty of restaurants, bars and the area was very peaceful. We just had to cross the Sisto Bridge and walk for 10 minutes to be in the Centro Historico and 20 minutes to be at the colleseum. It was nice to come back in the evening after a day walking in the streets of Roma and have a good meal in a restaurant not too far from our appartment, the best pîzza in Trastevere was next to our door ! Simone was helpful and we kept in touch during our staying.
If you project to go to Roma soon, don't hesite, stay at Simone's appartment !
Our host was totally accurate in describing the flat which was excellent, fully equipped and met all our needs. Simone kept me up-to-date at all times, and was especially helpful in sorting out a taxi for us from the airport. He answered all my queries promptly and thoroughly. the location of the flat in Trastevere was vibrant and ideally situated for restaurants. It was within walking distance from the centre of Rome.
