The Space

*** this apartment is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator.

+++Now with a small flat screen tv and roku box!

I've lived in Philadelphia for twelve years and I have always wanted to live on this block. It is one of the best blocks of Philadelphia located in the posh and prestigious Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. The block has several gorgeous brownstones and many single home dwellings that are easily mansions! Our block is often filmed on at least two or three times a year for film and tv! Most recently for a new tv show and a film starring Terrence Howard and Colin Farrell.

My apartment is a spacious studio inside one of the brownstones. The building has ornate and gorgeous architectural detail. The stoop is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine (email hidden) from food and friends( located at the corner of 20th and spruce). The common lobby on the first floor has the original mirror, perfect for checking your ensemble before you head out for a great dinner at friday saturday sunday ( 21st and rittenhouse), audrey claire ( 20th and spruce(( audrey claire is a great BYOB and cash only) or twenty manning grill ( 20th between spruce and locust). Want a coffee or pastry? Montreal style bagels can be had around the corner fresh baked every day in a wood grill on 20th street at Spread or on fridays great authentic bagels from a kosher bakery in the burbs are sold at Maxxs Produce on 20th. On 19th is metropolitan bakery which has excellent croissants and pain au chocolat. Enough about food.....yes this neighborhood is a foodies delight!

The apartment has a very comfy pillow top queen mattress. It is like sleeping on a cloud, almost better than a hotel mattress! There is also a twin air mattress if you have a third guest. The couch is a klippan from ikea, it is good for taking naps and if someone had to they could crash on it. There is a great big table in the kitchen that easily sits six.

The bathroom is spacious and has a wonderful rainfall shower head. I generally also have some hotel shampoo/conditioner/soap etc if you have forgotten yours. I have plenty of towels and washcloths. I also have extra sheets. if you cannot find something in the apartment please do not hesitate to call, text, or email me during your stay! I wash all my sheets and towels in mrs. meyers lavender organic laundry detergent.

The studio is a huge almost one bedroom size. There are three floor to ceiling windows that let lots of gorgeous light in. The windows have the original shutters which close up at night. The ceilings are very high and have gorgeous crown molding. There are two very large wardrobes where you can stash your belongings and even your suitcases or feel free to put them in the walk-in closet.

The apartment is super close to 30th street station so if you are flying in just take the train from the airport to 30th street or the lady liberty shuttle. If you are coming by megabus or bolt which also lets of by 30th street station feel free to walk if your bags aren't too heavy or catch a cab to the address.

The apartment is a 20 minute walk to convention center, but an even quicker trip on the trolley or bus. Everything is close to this apartment! There are two buses nearby, both go downtown towards the independence hall and historic areas. The trolley and blue line are also close by, but really everything is easily walkable in this area.

If you have any further questions just ask!

  • We had a great stay at Andrea's place! Her apartment is in an old, charming building that would be ideal for a solo traveler or couple (very romantic).
Instructions were very clear and she was great about checking in with us.

Will definitely look forward to staying here or at one of Andrea's other listings for my next trip to Philly!

  • Andrea's apartment was lovely and cosy! It was conveniently located near the main shopping street and public transport. Andrea was great at maintaining communication and was quick at fixing any problems, should they arise. Would definitely recommend!

  • I set up this weekend stay for some family members who came to visit. Andrea was really responsive and easy to work with. Here's what they had to say: "Really cute place, nice neighborhood. Incredibly close to a lot of shops and great eating places. Great to stay in a place with some character, there are many pictures and souvenirs from Andrea's travels. Very accommodating place! Had a wonderful time! Definitely got hooked on SPREAD bagelry, wish we had one in Minnesota."

  • I booked Andrea's place for a week because my sister was planning to visit me for my birthday! She had to cancel her plans at the last minute due to unexpected circumstances. Andrea has been very understanding and comforting. She refunded me the nights very quickly.
I would send future visitors to Andrea's place in a heartbeat. Her apartment was clean, bright and so well-located in center city that it is a real gem in the neighborhood.

  • All instructions were easy to follow and additional tips (like the lady Liberty shuttle!) were provided by Andrea. She was accessible throughout our stay- always felt she was a call/text/email away. The location of the apt was prime. I really felt like a local.

The apt is exactly what we were looking for- i felt like i was staying at a friend's place. Spruce street is busy enough to hail a cab but not like "crazy" busy. There is always some foot traffic so it felt very safe.

You are steps from excellent restaurants on 20th street plus several grocery stores- from Tinto to several highly rated BYOBs. Oh to live in this area would be AMAZING!

We got to meet Andrea the day of our departure and she was a doll! We were so happy with our experience that we booked with her a different apt for our next trip in October.

Airbnb has become a large part of my life in the past three years! I'm so enthusiastic about it my sister is now a host! It's a great way to live like a local. I have a range of properties from luxe to bargain. I'm also always happy to help with any questions! I also offer bargains for long term stays and repeat guests! I have been interviewed for articles on airbnb in slate, open forum, and featured in apartment therapy. I'(email hidden) who has lived in Tokyo, DC and the Pine barrens. I have traveled all over. My favorites are Hong Kong, Mexico City, Toronto, and Maine. I have lived in Philadelphia since 2002. I grew up visiting Philly as well. So, I know all the touristy stuff along with the cool stuff. I know the best places to eat in Philly. I know the places to miss as well! I'm a prolific yelper... (website hidden)_n(phone number hidden).html
