A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.

The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.

Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.

For an authentic East London experience, nothing comes close to Columbia Road market on a Sunday morning. Jam packed with the best blooms in the capital, it’(email hidden)ly and pretty noisy affair (and not for those who prefer peace and quiet on a Sunday), with salt-of-the-earth Eastender types, shouting at the top of their lungs and all trying to outdo one another's patter.
During the rest of the week you can dine and shop at the rest of the quaint little restaurants and boutiques.

  • All went well with the apartment, is as advertised. Good location and very easy check in. Would have liked a second set of keys but that wasn't possible as we had differing schedules.

  • It was a decent place. We got there on a Sunday and the flower market nearby was enchanting. Not too far away from Brick Lane and public transportation but the apartment itself was the bare minimum for a comfortable stay. That being said, that's all we were really looking for so it worked out.

  • The location is just perfect. I loved the vibe of shoreditch. The house is perfect for 3 or 4 people but don't book it if you are 5. You won't be able to move anymore ;) Kaz was very kind answering the phone very late to help us open the door which is a bit tricky, but works. Catch doubledecked bus instead of metro to get here: it stops just in front of the block the apt is, near the Marksman Pub.

  • The homeowner Kaz is an helpful and kind person. The apartment we rented was tiny for five people but perfect for two or three. It was not very clean but you can find cleaners, broom and hoover in the house. It is ideally situated because there is an underground station (Hoxton) and a few bus stops near the flat. Overall it was a good stay.

  • Appartment was clean, Kaz described the access to it in details so there weren't any problems to find the place&keys.
    We missed some additional pots in the kitchen.

  • Tuvimos un problema con la calefacción, se estropeó, y como ya habían pasado las primeras 24h el señor Kazz se limitó a traernos una estufa para todo el apartamento. Le llamamos y enviamos correos en repetidas ocasiones y ni siquiera nos cogía el teléfono. En la descripcción del apartamento dice que hay desayuno lo cual es otra mentira, todo lo que había eran unos cereales abiertos (vaya usted a saber hace cuanto) y un bote de café soluble abierto también.
    En nuestra opinión se vende demasiado bien para lo que luego te encuentras. No (email hidden) a este apartamento ni a ninguno que tenga el señor Kazz ya que no resolverá ningún problema algo grave. Tener calefacción el 8 de Febrero en Londres no creo que sea ninguna tontería.
