About this listing

The space

Casa Libertad is a unique and historical home located in the Quepos hills where the first foreign settlers lived, the location is known as La Macha ( the blond) after the first settler Luz Henchoz of Swiss origin

This recently modernized and remodeled, lovely 2 bedroom home has with modern furniture, a state of the art full american kitchen, large living area equipped with a large screen TV, DVD and Ipod ready sound system.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and the guest bedroom a full bed, and king size bed (which can be also split into 2 twin beds). There is one spacious bathroom with hot water shower for both bedrooms. The house is fully A/Ced, has a central hot water tank for all the faucets and has lots of privacy.

Surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife, quiet trails perfect for walking or strolling, and with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, this home has no comparison for it is unique and cozy.

Located just a 15 minute walk to downtown Quepos or a 10 minute drive to the Manuel Antonio National Park

You may also have an adventurous 10 minute walk through lush primary forest to the low tide rocky beach of La Macha, (where most of the time you'll have the beach all for yourself!) enjoy the sun “n” sea and the seasonal creek & waterfall right on the beach.

Casa Libertad is perfect for a family of or a group of friends wanting to get away from it all.

Please be aware that the road leading to the house is rustic. If you are driving in, an SUV type vehicle is better suited for it.

Such a lovely place to stay. Casa Libertad has a great view of the ocean. Very private location but not to far away from Manuel Antonio. Elena was a wonderful host and left no questions unanswered. I would definitely recommend Casa Libertad for future guests to the area.

The house was awesome! Great view, super clean, A/C, comfy beds, great shower, laundry, well-equipped kitchen, animals :-) We stayed 5 nights with our 2.5 year old and it was the most relaxing leg of our trip to Costa Rica. There's a great trail from the neighborhood that takes you to several beautiful, secluded (empty) beaches, that was a total bonus; we did the hike twice visiting La Macha 1 & 2 and loved it! Our son loved the monkeys that visited the yard daily. Elena and Elky were wonderful hosts. We highly recommend!

If you're looking for a peaceful place with a great view on the ocean, a beautiful and well equiped house and four adorable dogs, this is the place to be! And above all that Elena and Elky were super nice to us. They even showed us how to feed monkeys with bananas!!! We had a great time and we highly recommend it!

Elena's rental was exactly as described. Communication with her was easy and she responded within the day. She arranged for transport in a very nice large shuttle van for us from San Jose airport (for an extra fee) and accomodated our late check in. The rental was clean and had everything that was needed (AC!!) and the view was amazing. The rental was a bit away from Quepos (15 min walk downhill) but had a gorgeous view and was quiet. I would definitely recommend!

Casa Libertad is a beautiful home situated high above the Costa Rican coast with abundant wildlife which visits the neighborhood on a daily basis. This property is abundant with beautiful flora and fauna insuring the visitor an exciting stay with so much to see! The house is comfortable with great beds, and air conditioning which is a must in the tropical climate! The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials and the laundry room is a great added amenity! Getting to the house may pose a challenge for those who are not accustomed to hiking or driving on narrow roads. The house is high in the hills so a walk into town is very doable but can be physically taxing. There are taxi drivers who will come to the house, however, giving directions can be a challenge since there are no street signs or house numbers in the neighborhood. The roads leading up to the house are also in rough shape so a 4 wheel drive vehicle is a must! Despite that, this place is a great deal and suited our family of 4 very well. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit this magnificent area and share in the local experience. Elena is a fantastic host and was always available to offer suggestions for great places to visit while we were there. She lives right across the street so she is always accessible if needed.

I have been living in the Manuel Antonio area for over 10 years, woking in real estate and vacation home rentals. That's why I have a very good knowledge about the area and activities to do when around. I also Love dogs and outdoor sports.
