Interaction with Guests
I live across the street from the house, I will be there to check you in and check you out. I will be available to give you tips about area attractions, activities, restaurants or if you have any question about the house.
Is a cul-de-sac road, so very little traffic. There are only 8 houses in the neighborhood, it is very private, quiet and safe, away from the tourist bustle and traffic of downtown Manuel Antonio. Lots of nature and wildlife around the property, all kinds of birds, visits from 3 types of monkeys: squirrel monkeys, howlers and capuchins; occasional sloths also visit.
Downtown Quepos and its bus station is a 15 minute walk away from the property, although the way back in is uphill. Public Taxis reach the property and you can call them in from the house phone.

This place was great. It was well hidden and in the hills with a cool view but very close to downtown Quepos. 5 minute drive. Also the hike down La Macha was really fun.. Manuel Antonio national park is only a 15 minute drive away as well. We preferred staying at Elena's place much more because it was away from the busy tourism. The place itself is very clean, modern and spacious. We would recommend to anyone who wants a unique experience in a great location but wants a bit more peace and quiet. We saw some Monkey's running along the trees a few times in the morning as well.
Overall 5 stars.
Maybe the best place to be in Quepos & Manuel Antonio. The house is 15 minutes far from Manuel Antonio's beach (the best) & 4 minutes far from Quepos downtown & Marina.
Elena welcomed us as no one. She was always available to respond our requests and she advised us the best places to be visited at day/night.
The house is just magic, with an amazing view to the Pacific.
And the dream come truth...
I cannot recommend this listing high enough. Elena is a fantastic host. She is welcoming and very helpful with local knowledge. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with an amazing sunset and terrific view. After a long drive from Arenal, the house was so comfortable and so clean - it was an oasis. We cooked in her well appointed kitchen and had a great time eating in.
My kids loved her dogs and cats - they were so friendly. The monkeys were also kind enough to visit on our last day. We all had a terrific time.
Wonderful hosts who were responsive to all our questions. Modern & clean accommodations with friendly vacation dogs.
Beautiful view of the ocean and wonderful sunsets.
Driving directions were perfect and we were glad we had our small SUV 4 wheel drive.
In the words of mother, Elena's home was "perfectly charming". I will admit we had some difficulty finding the home, because someone had blocked off the road, but thankfully Elena came to assist us. The surrounding area was more hilly and had more wildlife vegetation than we had anticipated; therefore, unless you're a skilled driver, rent an SUV. We loved the home! It was very open and airy, had a wonderful view of the ocean and marina. You really feel one with nature there. The home was very clean, the rooms spacious and well kept. The kitchen was lovely and fully equipped. Her dogs were sweet and visited us from time to time. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, though having been to Cots Rica before, I expected nothing less. We definitely hope to come back!
This was probably one of my most pleasant experiences with airbnb. The house is fantastic: spatious, clean and very pretty. The view is pretty amazing, as is the secluded beach that can be reached by an adventurous but fun path.
Elena is a fantastic host as well. She gave us lots of information about activities and restaurants in the area. She also showed us how to feed the monkeys in the morning!
If I ever come back to Quepos I will definitely be staying in casa la Libertad again, and I would strongly recommend others to do the same.
Our stay at casa libertad was everything we could have asked for. The large kitchen was very luxurious and functional, the beds were comfortable, and the view each morning was unbelievable. There are no numbered addresses in this part of Costa Rica, so directions are given in relation to landmarks, and Elena's guidance was very helpful to getting us there. The view was second to none, we had visits from monkeys on a couple of mornings, and Elena personally escorted us to a secluded beach within just a short hike from the house. Her dogs were incredibly friendly and helped us with our withdrawal from our dogs at home. We will absolutely be back. Thanks, Elena!

Calm waters, good for snorkeling. You can rent kayaks and other gear right there. You have to park on the side of the road and walk down a 300 meters pathway. Better to take good shoes.Quepos
Must see. Better to visit early and during low tide. There are several parking lots right outside. Buy your tickets at Coopealianza. There are naturalist guides just outside you can hire for a tour.Puntarenas
