About This Listing
My cozy apartment with tipical umbrian ceiling beams can comfortably host up to 5 people. It's centrally located in medieval Bevagna, in a quiet street just a few steps away from its beautiful piazza, with access to all the main monuments.
My apartment is located just right behind the main piazza of Bevagna, next to the pubblic washes of ancient times. It's 75sm big with beautiful tipical umbrian wooden beams and can comfortably host 5 people. The entrance leads into a dining area with well equipped kitchen (dish washer, microwave, electric kettle,...) and a traditional stove. Downstairs there's a living room with a fire place that can be used on request, the TV and a fold-out-sofabed, comfortable for two people. Upstairs, instead, there's a bedroom with a king-size double bed, the bathroom with a shower and a lumber room with the washing mashine. It is easily possible to add an extra bed or a crib in case of need. In front of the house, I have a private little outside space with a bistro table, ideal for breakfast or tea time, to read a good book in peace or have a good glass of wine at the end of the day.
Our guests can use all the services the apartment is offering, such as a washing mashine, a dish washer, a microwave oven, the heater and mobile airconditioning and, last but not least, WIFI Internet access.
Interaction with Guests
Me and my partner are living in another town close to Bevagna. I will be always available, though, from the beginning until the end of your stay. Whenever you should have a doubt or question, before booking or during your journey in Umbria, don't hesitate and contact me: I will be there for you and organize what you ask me for!
Already Bevagna itself has lots to offer: It's a tipical umbrian medieval town, built on roman remains, featuring the contrast of ecclesiastic and common power everywhere. The history appears to its visitors in every corner of the village. Moreover, Bevagna is famous for its craft tradition and in fact, there's still many parlors opening up to the town's lanes.
Furthermore, besides the famous "Festival of the Gaite" in june which commemorates the medieval crafts and markets, from about april until late november, the town celebrates a large range of festivals, dedicated for example to the medieval spring time, a Guitar festival, the feast of the snails and a contemporary art exibition on bambagina paper.
If after all of this excitement you want to relax, Bevagna and my neighbourhood offer so many good restaurants with terrific local kitchen and outdoor cafés that you only need to choose.
Last but not least, another good idea of what to do during your stay could be to take a relaxing walk or bike trip along the Timia river which leads you until the village of Trevi.
Parking spots are easy to find in Bevagna and you will be able to walk the whole town by foot. There is trains and busses going to other towns in Umbria, but I actually always advice to rent a car for these occasions because you just enjoy more freedom.
Other Things to Note
Like to try Umbria's wine or be introduced to the secrets of local kitchen? Want to discover Bevagna and surroundings in bicycle or participate at the Infiorata Festival in Spello? This is a new service we are offering to our guests. Kitchen classes or visits at some of Umbria's most particular wineries, a truffle hunt up on the mountains or bike tours in a group or by yourself - our local assistant will organize everything for you.
If then you want an "italian mamma" to come over to your house and cook for you, this will just make your holidays an unforgettable trip...
We were made to feel so welcome from the time we were met at the Foligno Railway Station by Anja who manages the property for Barbara. The Central house was exactly as it was described and we fell in love with it right away. BEVAGNA and the surrounding towns are such beautiful places and filled with beautiful people who made us feel welcome into their community. Anja also arranged for us to hire a car from a local company, it was so convenient and very economical. We were given so much information when we arrived and also during our stay about local events and places of interest to visit. This is and was the perfect location for us to live as part of an Italian community. Thank you Anja for making our stay so enjoyable, and thank you Barbara for giving us the opportunity to share your beautiful house. It will always hold a special place in our hearts. Ciao and Grazie Mille.
Barbara's place in Bevagna is fantastic - lots of room, very stylish, quiet area and right in the middle of the lovely medieval town.
We spent 1 week in this cosy and fantastic apartment in the very centre of Bevagna. The flat is simply perfect, renovated and well equipped with everything, nice and very comfortable to stay.
We didn't meet Barbara, but we have been welcomed by her friend Anja, a nice and enthusiastic person we truly appreciated for her kindness and availability (thanks a lot, Anja!), as well for the suggestions she gave us for what regards places to visit, restaurants, museums and so on.
Bevagna is an amazing little village, and it was a pleasure - after a day of walking - having a quiet walk in the nice streets, attending some concerts at the theatre, running on the bike path along the Clitunno river.
We surely recommend this location: the apartment is - really! - perfect, Bevagna is a little treat and countryside is astonishing...what else?
Although we did not meet Barbara in person, her communication was quick and easy. Her friend Anja met us at the house and was a pleasure to deal with. The house itself is truly wonderful, a 3 story one bedroom apartment fully renovated in a stone farmhouse style. The apartment itself is cozy, comfortable and right around the corner form the central plaza of Bevanga. A great place to explore Bevagna, Spello and Montefalco from. I would recommend anyone interested in a true Umbrian experience to stay here and enjoy the town, the apartment and even the tiny little outdoor space which was perfect for al fresco lunch and dinner.
