I look forward to be your host in Amsterdam
My name is Peter, I am dutch, gay and live in Amsterdam for many years. During your stay I can provide you information about the city and its surroundings, places to eat and visit.
I am well organised and like my place very much. I am open and respectfull to my guests. I started my B&B 5 years ago. Besides that I work as a teacher and social nurse.
About my appartment:
I have 2 floors. On the first floor is the big bathroom (designed from the twenties),the toilet and the kitchen (to use for the breakfast only from 8 am till 11 am). On the second floor you have the masterbedroom and the smaller double room. I can accomodate max 5 people on the second floor (3 guests max in masterbedroom, the third person can sleep on a comfortable matras on the floor,2 guests max in the double room). From the masterbedroom only you have acces to a wonderfull big roofterrace where you can relax and have a sunbath in all rest and privacy.
My house is a monumental canalhouse, build in 1880's. It still has a lot of original details that creates a typical canalhouse atmosphere.
200 meters from the famous LEIDSEPLEIN,where you can find the nightlife, shops, restaurants, museum area and the fantastic Vondelpark! Everything is around the corner!!!!
How to get to my place:
From Airport Schiphol take bus 197 at busterminal B9/B11 to Leidseplein. Buses leave every 15 minutes. When you get off at Leidseplein, walk into the Marnixstraat, then take second street left. That's my street: Leidsekade. You can also take a train from the airport to central station and from there you take tram 1,2 or 5 to Leidseplein. Usually the bus is the fastest connection to my house. By taxi from the airport to my house costs about 35 euros.
Peter's place is beautiful, located in the best area in the city, a walking/riding distance from practically everything. It's a very nice and quiet street right on the canal. We slept in the small room which was pretty tiny, but quite lovely and comfortable for us. Breakfast was nice and homy. We saw Peter only briefly, and he was very nice and welcoming. but besides that we didn't really have a lot of interaction. The place is more in a bed&breakfast atmosphere, so just know what to expect. Ooh and mind the steep steps! We warmly recommend the place, thank you Peter!
peter is a great host. i love his cosy, stylish and very clean flat. the district is perfect for shopping, going out, having a coffee and sightseeing. definitely wanted to stay longer. thank you so much!
I spent 3 nights at Peter's in January 2014, and it was a very good experience.
The home is just as it looks in the photos. The kitchen area is lovely and a great breakfast is included . The bathroom is shared with other guests but it’s clean. The location is perfect!
The room we booked is really small (by really small I mean you can barely move in there if you are 2 people) but it was perfect for us, since we spent the whole day sightseeing the city and we just needed a spot for the night. If you plan to spend a little time during the day in the room, you’d better book the bigger one.
I definitely recommend a stay here, great value for money.
I stayed at Peter's place over the Christmas holiday and had a great time. Peter is very friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful, and while the stairs are as steep as the reviews mention, they are part of the experience.
great stay in Amsterdam,Peter is a great host, and the place is very close to city and a walking distance to everything that you need to see in Amsterdam.
Peter's place is great and very centrally located in Amsterdam. Everything was very clean and tidy. We couldn't have found a better place to stay. Peter was a fantastic host. I am really looking forward to staying at his place again at our next trip to Amsterdam.
Peter's house is a beautiful typical canal house in the heart of Amsterdam. Very close to everything, but also offering calm. The welcome in the house is discreet, but attentive and pleasant. All the amenities are clean and well looked after. It was a great pleasure to have a taste of how real modern Dutch people live.
Peter's place is in a wonderful location in a very charming old canal house. We appreciated his generosity in offering breakfast in the mornings. We had the smaller room, and as we knew from previous reviews, it is small for 2 people! As is common in old Dutch houses, ther are a lot of steep stairs, a little daunting when you need to use the BR in the middle of the night... we very much enjoyed our stay here and think it is a good value in Amsterdam.
Peter's house is so lovely and historic, making my experience in Amsterdam that much more authentic. The location is very convenient with plenty to do nearby within walking distance. Peter is very generous to leave such a nice breakfast spread out in the kitchen and everything including the room where I stayed was very clean and cozy. Thanks Peter!
