My flat is situated about 10 minutes walk from the pier. This is my holiday home so there are three rooms in total, one room is currently rented to a friend of mine and there are two other rooms are available for Airbnb (so you will be sharing the space with my friend). There is a nice balcony with plenty of sun light for you to relax outdoors. I do hope you come visit me in the future, looking forward to having a drink with you on our chill balcony.
Lamma Island is about a 20 minutes ferry ride away from Central Pier which is the city centre of Hong Kong. This is a nice great get away location to get everything you want for a relaxing vacation away from the busy city life. There are beaches, walking trails, bars, great seafood restaurants and even organic food restaurants available.
From the airport you may take the Airport Express line to Hong Kong station (on Hong Kong Island) where you can walk to the Central Pier and from there it takes a 20 minute ferry ride to get to Lamma Island. It is just as easy to going back into the city as well. On the island as there are no cars, everything can reached by walking!
A little tough to find at first, but once you do... No problems! Very nice apartment to share that was clean and a neat experience. The island is a nice little paradise away from the city.
the apartment has a huge living room where we would chill out in the evenings or on the week end. The bedroom was spacious and clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Apart from that, edwina took good care of me, answering my questions, organizing everything around the apartment and even giving me insider-tips about sights and trips around hong kong! all in all, I really enjoyed my stay on lamma and would definitely love to come back here next time.
A very nice place to stay.
Sorry for the late review. Edwina's apartment is very nice and in a nice quiet part of Lamma Island. Lamma is also a lovely place and I would certainly stay there again...
This is the perfect place to go if you want to get away from the bustle of the city. Lamma Island is charming, and Edwina's flat is spacious and comfortable. All my questions before/during/after my trip were answered in a timely fashion, and Edwina makes it easy to find the place. There is a lot to appreciate about the island, from the beaches (surprisingly clean!) to the hiking trails (surprisingly hilly!). On the other hand, it is also very easy to commute into the busier parts of Hong Kong.
Stayed at Lamma purple room for 7 days, was a good experience without any problems. The room is up a steep hill, so elderly people should be aware, or people with really heavy luggage that does not have wheels. But once you get up there, its all good!
The ferries are frequent enough and the location is quiet!
Overall I was satisfied
Edwina was a great host - meeting me at the ferry terminal in central Hong Kong and taking me over to Lamma Island. Edwina's place is only 25mins ferry plus a 10-15minute walk from Hong Kong Island but it feels like another world - quiet and laid back. The walk up the hill to Edwina's place winds past some small fields and up through tropical greenery to a small group of apartment buildings. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and it was nice to go back there each day after the craziness of Hong Kong.
Nice, clean and quiet place. Great getaway from the push and rush of Hong Kong. Highly recommended.
Really lovely place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful decor and idyllic surroundings on Lamma. Thumbs up!
I gave this listing a 5-stars because it met my need and fit my life style well. The ferry, frequently available during the day, took about 25 minutes to and from Central Piers including the unloading time. It took me 13 minutes to walk down hill from the house to the pier and 25 minutes from the pier uphill to the house. The boat ride was indeed an enjoyable experience.
The guest house was spacious and the host was friendly and easy to work with. The surrounding was peaceful, with flowers and butterflies. A few minuses included no cell phone signals at the house for my cell phone and the dog drops left on the path by irresponsible dog walkers, in addition to insects (mostly mosquitos) and a few wild lives (large centipedes and small snakes) on the path. But this is part of living in the country.
I would like to come back to this guest house again!
