Please check the calendar for seasonal rates. Weekly and monthly rates will be quoted upon request.
Our home is in a quiet, safe neighborhood on a 1/2 acre lot. You have your own private entrance with access to the back yard patio beneath huge Sycamore trees. It will seem like your in the mid-west, without the snow and ice!
The living room and dining area in the cottage is vaulted, with a convenient kitchenette, a separate and private bedroom with a queen size bed. We also have a plush double size air mattress that may be used in the living room along with the reclining chair and reclining love seat. There is an adjoining full size bathroom down a short hallway from the bedroom.
Continental breakfast, coffee, juice, granola and fresh fruit are provided.
The cottage has wi-fi internet and driveway parking is available as well.
The cottage is very clean and quiet. Since the recent remodel, there have been NO pets (not even Buddy) in the cottage, to provide an allergy free environment for those who are sensitive to animal dander.
Our central location is perfect for Spring Training because the ballparks are about the same distance from here.
We are located 5 minutes from the famed AZ Biltmore Resort and golf course and Biltmore Fashion Square known for upscale shops and dining. Just 15 minutes from Sky Harbor airport and downtown Phoenix, Chase Field, home to the AZ Diamondbacks and nearby U S Airways Arena, home of the Phoenix Suns.
Two mountain preserves are just 5 minutes away with miles of hiking. Upscale AMC movie dine-in theatre is a five minute drive at the Esplanade Center.
No car? Public bus transit stop is a 3 minute walk to the nearest stop where you can take a bus almost anywhere, then connect with the light rail system which runs from one side of the valley to the other.
We can suggest many restaurants and attractions from outdoor adventure to theatrical performances having lived in Phoenix since 1973.
Separate back yard patio for your personal use.
Interaction with Guests
We're available anytime for suggestions from restaurants to sporting events and theatre to sight seeing trips.
The neighborhood is very quiet and off the beaten path with large yards, mature trees and nearby shopping. Each house is different in character and architecture, custom built homes from the early 1950's.
We have a close community of neighbors who watch out for each others homes and children. We've lived in this house for 13 years and love the location. We have an active Block Watch program and even have an annual pot luck in the Fall for everyone on our street. Christmas caroling is still common!
The bus stop is just a 3 minute walk.
Mapquest is highly recommended if driving from the airport.
Other Things to Note
We've had several guests recently that have left doors and windows open and unlocked. Although we remind guests upon checking in to lock all doors and windows when leaving, this still continues to be a problem. We've even placed a sign on the inside door as a reminder.
In response, I will ask all guests to sign a waiver of responsibility when checking in. Essentially the waiver will state that if there is property loss, resulting in an unlocked door or window, we can not be held responsible.
Although we live in a very safe neighborhood, we know that bad things can happen in the best of neighborhoods.
Hopefully this will not discourage future guests for selecting our cozy cottage.
You are required to close and lock both security doors and all windows whenever you leave the cottage.
We've had guests who have forgotten to do so even though I remind every guest of this requirement upon check in. This is simply a precaution for the protection of your property and person.
Please be respectful of our home and mindful of our neighbors who appreciate our quite lifestyle.
Please let us know immediately if something is not working properly or if you need anything.
We will provide keys during your stay. Only our registered guests may stay overnight in the cottage.
Our guest cottage is ideal for two adults, but we are happy to provide an air mattress for a child or two.
If you choose to stay for an extended period of time, we can provide fresh linens and towels when requested. We do not make up the room each day.
NO SMOKING or PETS.
Cable television, wi-fi, front and rear entrances. Living room is separate from bedroom if someone wants to turn in early or read in bed without t.v.
We actually live in Phoenix & reached out to Denny when our air conditioner went out on us. Anyone who has been to Phoenix in August knows that being without an AC is not an option! Denny got back to me in less than 30 minutes & was ready for us to check in the next day. Denny's rental was cool & comfortable and perfect for our needs. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a private space in a great neighborhood.
Denny's cottage is wonderful! I only stayed for a night before heading to the airport the next morning. Denny was very accommodating, and the place is super clean, and the breakfast provided was a really nice touch. If I'm in Phoenix, I would definitely stay there again. Also - it only took me about 15 minutes to get to the airport, so it is a great place to stay if you are flying out early the next morning.
It was great to meet Denny and Gina.
Their accommodations and hospitality place them in Super Host category and then some. As a biz traveler, it is a bonus to see an iron/board in the room.
We had an excellent stay in the cottage. It's centrally located, but in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Perfect size for the price and in great condition. Thanks!
Denny and Gina were perfect hosts. This was our first airbnb experience and won't be our last. The cottage was exactly as described. How did Denny know we liked Sprite and a Diet Pepsi? That was stocked in the fridge along with cereal, fresh fruit, milk, creamer for your coffee. Really, Denny and Gina have thought of everything. The neighborhood is nice, so many things convenient to this location. Make sure you check out the AZ travel magazines. I found a hike to Shoshone Point in Grand Canyon National Park. We hiked from Yaki Point to Shoshone Point and it was awesome.
Thank you Denny and Gina. We hope your family enjoyed your Christmas!!
There are people in this world that are born to be hosts and Denny is one of them. Denny knew that my husband and I were on our way to the Grand Canyon the day before we checked in and he emailed me to be sure that we went through Sedona because of its beauty (great advice!). Denny loves his state and loves to make sure his guests feel comfortable and don't miss out on anything AZ has to offer. When he found out my husband and I work for Starbucks and we'd already located the nearest one for the next morning, he left us a Starbucks card! "Charming" is the perfect word to describe Denny's space. It's in a quiet neighborhood, clean, shaded, and very spacious. I appreciated the TV being in a separate room from the bedroom, so that I could go to bed early and my husband could entertain himself in the living room. The location is very central (15 min to the Desert Botanical Garden) and close to many good restaurants (try Pane Bianco, The Parlor, and Matt's Big Breakfast!). The location and spaciousness make Denny's cottage a fantastic value. Stay with him and you will not be disappointed!
From the moment Denny and I began communicating it was clear that he was only interested in making my stay as comfortable as ever. Since my two sisters were coming to stay for a few days of my stay, we had to figure out where they were going to sleep and he really went all out to make it happen and my sisters were very happy and comfortable during the whole time.
I had driven in, which I recommend, and found it really close to everything. I caught four baseball games, saw the desert botanical gardens, went to the casinos, antiques shopped...you name it, very easy to access. The space was perfect for one, would be great for a couple, very clean and quiet. And again, the host was the best!
