We had the good fortune to start with Hedda and her partner at their wonderful home in Los Angeles. Our room was magical with soaring ceilings, window walls facing into a sylvan glade, a deep inviting bed, a walk-in shower, and pretty much the run of the entire house. The location is located within minutes from the Getty Museum, SunsetDrive, the Beverly Hills Hotel and UCLA. But best of all, Hedda and her partner Cedric are delightful hosts, warm and outgoing, thoughtful to the nth degree. They spared nothing to make our stay comfortable. We would, in a heartbeat, come back to this amazing place at the first opportunity. Thanks Hedda!
It should be noted that one has to be prepared for a house share with little privacy, hardly any place to put your stuff in the fridge, no dining table/chairs, a shared shower in the bathroom of the second bedroom. The house is old and not well maintained but the location is great.
- Firstly they got the run of the entire house even though as you clearly indicated, they were being offered a private room.
- They got to have my husbands and my master bedroom with its own private bathroom and gazebo off the terrace.
- The house is 3800 square feet and they had full use of the kitchen and they incorrectly stated there was no dining facilities. We eat Asian style on the floor on the top floor but there was a full eight seater antique table on the second floor, along with a fully equipped office.
- There was also another dining area on the terrace ( weather dependant)
- Because I was new to airbnb I accidently put $300 PER WEEK as the main rental instead of $300 per DAY!
So they got a house in Bel Air with offstreet parking, a master bedroom with ensuite and a second bedroom ( huge size) with ensuite shower and toilet for $1350 plus cleaning fee instead of $3100.
- FInally the house is in the middle of a little renovation but this is mostly on the ground floor and does not in any way affect the comfort of the place. Its not badly maintained as I they had at their disposal my housekeeper twice during their stay.
We met the family before they checked in - they popped by on their way to Palm Springs and we enjoyed meeting them very much.
