Interaction with Guests
I will be out of town when I'm renting my full space. So I will not be able to interact with guests. I will have a point person for you to meet with.
I live in one of the hippest neighborhoods in the USA according to Forbes. Silver Lake is small and walkable. Everything you need is in Silver Lake or the Los Feliz neighborhood - groceries, banks, coffee, bars, restaurants, etc. Sunset Junction is a short walk away.
There are some great restaurants around. I have a food blog and can make recommendations for you or you can see some on (website hidden).
This neighborhood is LGBT friendly. You'll find a few gay bars in the neighborhood, including one of LA's best, Akbar, a few blocks away.
Silver Lake Reservoir is not too far and great to run around or hang out on the grass. Griffith Park is also close by and great for hiking, picnicking, views of LA and the Griffith Park Observatory.
I'm close to the Red Line Metro and also main bus routes on Santa Monica Blvd. & Sunset Blvd. There are car rentals nearby as well as ZipCar locations. The Metro Red Line is a 15 minute walk. You can get to Union Station or to Hollywood on this line or transfer to other lines. Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd are both close by and offer routes in both directions (Toward Downtown LA or toward the Westside/Santa Monica Beach). There are regular buses (2, 4) as well as the Rapids (702, 704) which have fewer stops and can be quicker.
Other Things to Note
This is a really great space for hanging out, relaxing, cooking, reading and being creative. You are welcome to use the room or back patio to paint or create art - just please clean up after yourself! I also have many art supplies, if you're feeling creative, just ask!
This flat is in a shared location. There is a courtyard shared with neighbors next door. Street parking is normally easy to find.
1. NO illegal drugs, pets or smoking inside
Smoking outside is fine, please dispose of your cigarette butts.
2. BE COURTEOUS of neighbors. Consider noise and try to be quiet when coming home late at night and closing gates.
3. Please pick up after yourself and do your dishes, as there is no dishwasher in the house.
4. No additional guests without payment and authorization.
Pets will be considered but must be pre-approved and there will be an additional fee.
Great location, beautiful flat and Larimie is a very welcoming and helpful host. We had everything we needed. The apartment is fun and colorful but also clean and comfortable. I would like to stay here again if I return to LA.
Laramie's place was absolutely perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again next time I am in LA. Infact, we really never wanted to leave!!! The house is decked out beautifully, is spacious and had everything we needed such as cooking materials, toiletries, Apple TV (yes!), a BBQ, backyard and super cute front courtyard shared with the neighbours who are really friendly and fun bunch of guys (make friends with them if you stay here!). The location was again, perfect, within walking distance to silverlake and all the great cafes and bars and Laramie was such a really friendly and helpful host. Couldn't recommend Laramie's place more. Miss it already!
Location = best
Just a couple blocks Vita Caffe (best coffee and pastries, imo), Body Builders Gym (best gym in town, imo), Sunset Junction (get addicted to Pazzo Gelato, get snacks at Casbah, and brunch at Stella). And get an UberX to anywhere from downtown to Hollywood for about $10. This apartment is in the best location if you're a lover of Hollywood, Silverlake, Los Feliz, and Echo Park.
Now about the apartment itself - vibrant, colorful, great to come home to, incredibly safe (right across the street from a school), and very spacious. This was more than enough room for me and my work colleague and friend to sleep, hang out, and get work done.
Now about Larimie - he's probably the most responsive and engaged AirBnB host I've ever had. He's amazing! His friend Santiago showed us around the apartment and welcomed us - he was also friendly and amazing.
Be aware there is no air conditioning. Leave the windows and the door open, turn on the fans to catch a breeze, and you'll be just fine.
Larimie has excellent communication skills and was a pleasure to work with. I rented his property on behalf of my daughter and her friend while they both spent the summer as interns at major motion picture studios. Laramie greeted the girls upon arrival, stocked the fridge with treats and went out of his way to introduce them to the neighborhood and make them feel at home.
The listing accurately portrayed the premises and as promised, parking was never a problem. The was not any air conditioning at the property but the girls didn't seem to mind. The next door neighbors became great friends and the girls loved the "hipster" neighborhood and felt very safe there. The location was within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and bars on Sunset Blvd. If you are in the 21 to 30 year old age range this is the place to be!
Larimie's place is clean, comfortable, and colorful! It's conveniently located near fun cafes/bars/shops; a great home base for exploring the rest of L.A. A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved all the amenities - great outdoor space for lounging, fun décor, natural light, easy street parking, full kitchen, fluffy towels. :) Larimie thought of everything to make our stay easy & relaxing. He was super quick to respond to messages - flexible & accommodating. A great host, and a great space! Stay here!
