Cosy Casita for Sea or Snow!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Calle del Tenis, Estepona, Andalusia 29688, Spain

The Space

The Costa del Sol experiences great weather pretty much all year round. This December is no exception. If you fancy having Christmas in the warmth of the coast then this is one of the best places in Europe to be. There are many Christmas markets that take place during this time of year and the festivities last until the beginning of January when Spain celebrates Three Kings day.

The Sierra Nevada Ski resort is only an hour and a half away so a day trip to the slopes for a bit of winter fun is easily done. I myself have spent a day up in the snow and then returned in the afternoon to soak up the last of the sun on a beach. The best of both worlds really.

The casita is a little self contained cottage within the grounds of a beautifully restored Spanish Villa. It has air conditioning, its own small kitchen and lounge, en suite bathroom and private terrace. The casita has a double bed, and is ideal for two people, but there is also an extra single bed and sofa-bed to accommodate extra guests if need be.

It is situated within walking distance from all amenities - supermarket, restaurants and beaches. Puerto Banus and Marbella are only a taxi or bus ride away. The Costa del Sol enjoys great weather pretty much all year round and even in the winter months the hiking and exploring in Andalucia is breath taking. Local beach side restaurants provide entertainment with Flamenco shows and live music, and there are a couple of great eating spots.

The local neighbourhood is quiet and safe. The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away. There are supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants, banks, bars and the beach within the same distance.

The casita is great for people wanting to have the best of both worlds. A quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Banus, or a nearby place to stay to get into the port or Marbella. The local village of Cancelada has good shops and attractions, as well as a cute little market.

The Costa del Sol is perfect at this time of year for hiking and exploring the beautiful old Spanish villages in the area. We still get the sunshine without the scorching heat of July and August.

  • Quiet and cosy, just as advertised.
Clare is a fine host and a lovely person…very easy-going and responsive to requests. I enjoyed my stay !

  • All good - Clare was a great host and the casita was a nice little bolt hole for our stay, well positioned for the beach, supermarket etc and pretty straightforward to get to from the airport (once we figured out the details!).

  • We had a great time in the accomodation of Clare. We love the rooms, the pool and the terrace, and we could use WiFi. Clare and his boyfriend were very very friendly and helpful. We had only a few minutes to the beach, supermarket or Tapas Bars.

Estepona is a really nice town, and a good stop for visiting Marbella, Casares, Ronda, Gibraltar or for example Tarifa.

If we are come back, we would definitely book again at Clare :-D

  • The apartment is a small building attached to a villa about a minute drive from the main road from Marbella to Estepona. You can park your rental car inside of the compound that has a huge electric gate. Its about 10 to 15 minutes to the beach that offers a couple of restaurants. next to the main road there is an ATM and several supermarkets and restaurants. The apartment is the perfect spot to explore nearby Casares, Ronda or Gibraltar further down the coast. Even though Clare and her family live door to door, you have a lot of privacy (even with your own little terasse out the back). From the little contact we had, we found Clare to be a very polite and nice person and enjoyed our stay very much!

  • Clare's casita is just PERFECT!

it is a really nice, cosy little place to stay.
a clean bathroom, a confortable bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a nice terrace, wifi...etc all you need to spend a nice holiday!

I stayed at the casita for 5 days. the casita is situated outside of Marbella in a very quit neighborhood, but very close to the supermarket ( big Mercadona, 5 min walk) & to the local beach ( 10min walk)

I did not rent a car, and I moved around with public transportation ( bus route to Estepona & marbella = 5 min walk; bus takes you in about 35min to citycenter of Marbella) It is really do-able, but of course, if you rent a car, it will all go a lot easier & quicker! ( 10min ride to Marbella & Puerto Banus)

I think it is a perfect place to stay if you would like to move around the costa del sol!

Clare herself is a really, really nice host. She made me feel welcome from the very first moment.

anyway, when you'll read this message, don't hesitate, just book this Casita & you won't regret it!!! i'm definitely keeping this one in my wish list!

  • Nice small house with a private parking lot nearby Estepona. We had a wonderful time, enjoying the terrace and the pool. The house itself was clean and nicely furnished. Clare was a wonderful and helpful host- thank you!

  • The casita in the backyard of Clare's house is a good base for touring to the mountains, cities and the costa. Clare was nice and helpful.
    Good value for money.

  • Clare is a really friendly host! We stayed there for one week and she was helpfull when we needed her, but we had our privacy during this week. During the day the sun was shining at the terrace. The neighbourhood was really quiet and very well maintained.
The casita is really close by Marbella, Estepona and Gibraltar. If you rent a car like we did, you could go to so much cities within 1 hour.
We already have recommended the castita to our family and friends.

  • the other comments were all right: Clare is a great host! This is the perfect place if you want a central hub for a few days. We rented a car and made day trips to Nerja for the caves and to Morocco. The supermarket is a 5 minute walk and as the food is cheap we saved a lot of money by cooking in the full kitchen. The bedroom is great and the sitting room just adds space. The patio is great in the sun. The beach is a 10 minute walk and there are a few restaurants on the beach.

  • We had a nice stay on the Costa del Sol, Clare was very friendly and helpful. Supermarket is walking distance. Very nice terrace. It can be tricky to find the house without a GPS though, the residential area in which the house is situated is a labyrinth and the house numbers don't add up! Call Clare beforehand for detailed instructions.

I am lucky enough to be able to live on the beautiful, almost always sunny Costa del Sol in a lovely house in a really great area and I would love to be able to share it with you. Being South African I love the outdoor lifestyle that we get to live here in Spain and this area is a bit like home from home for me. I love travelling and exploring new places and cultures. My ultimate travel experience to date was going to Peru and climbing to the top of Machu Pichu......words can not describe it!
