The space
the Little House offers a modern level of cleanliness with thoughtful touches throughout.

there are two bedrooms in the Little House, each of which has a single and a queen sized bed. beds are made up with either 500 or 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, and are topped with Hungarian goose down and feather pillows.

there is a bathroom with a spacious walk in waterfall shower, and a separate toilet. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and cotton towels are provided for your stay, as is a hairdryer.

the Little House has an open plan kitchen, dining, and sitting room.

the newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped, and has a stove top oven, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, and a Nespresso coffee maker.

there is a large television in the sitting room, a DVD player, and a small selection of films, from Woody Allen to Jean-Luc Godard, for guests to enjoy.

wifi is available (on the National Broadband Network, NBN).

Guest access
the Little House is a self-contained and private space.

the original building, a late 1920s/early 1930s home, has been divided up into two separate living spaces, each of which is inaccessible from the other. there is a tiny studio attached to the Little House, which may occasionally be occupied when we have friends or family in town (though most often not). the spaces are well soundproofed from one another, and each has its own entrance.

guests don't have access to the back garden during their stay.

Other things to note
Our Top Recommendations for your visit to Hobart:

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) - This internationally renowned museum is home to the largest private art collection in Australia. For a unique experience, we recommend that you take the MONA Roma Ferry from the Brooke Street Pier, along the Derwent River, to the cliff-side entry of this iconic institution.

Salamanca - The 19th century sandstone warehouses of Salamanca now house cafés and restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques (including The Maker, a personal favourite). On Saturday, between 8.00 AM and 3.00 PM, visit the renowned Salamanca Market for local and artisanal produce, gourmet food stalls, arts and crafts, and live music.

Battery Point - Accessible from Salamanca via Kelly's Steps, wander along the quaint streets of one of Australia's oldest suburbs, past Georgian cottages and grand colonial mansions, soaking up the village atmosphere. You'll find cafés and restaurants scattered along Hampden Road, including the iconic Jackman and McRoss, a perfect stop post-Salamanca ambling.

North Hobart Restaurant Strip - The hub of Hobart's food scene, North Hobart is home to a variety of cafés and restaurants, art galleries, specialist boutiques, and the State Cinema.

Richmond Village - A 20-minute drive from the Hobart CBD, historic Richmond Village is situated in the gently undulating Tasmanian countryside. Renowned for its beautifully preserved Georgian architecture, including Australia's oldest convict bridge that is still in use, it's the perfect spot for an afternoon picnic by the river.

Farm Gate Market - On the corner of Elizabeth Street and Bathurst Street every Sunday from 8.30 AM to 1.00 PM. Visit for fresh and artisanal produce, and gourmet food stalls.

Bruny Island - One of Tasmania's most beautifully preserved natural environments, with stunning coastal views, excellent bush walks, and abundant wildlife (if you're visiting during migration season, take a whale watching cruise). It is also home to some of the finest wine, cheese, and oysters anywhere.

Mount Wellington Pinnacle - The drive to the summit passes through temperate rainforest, sub-alpine flora, and glacial rock formations, and ends with panoramic views of Hobart, Bruny Island, and the D'Entrecasteux Channel.

Cascade Brewery - View the gothic sandstone façade of this iconic brewery against the backdrop of Mount Wellington. Situated in stunning gardens, Cascade is the oldest continually operating brewery in Australia.
