Modern 1BR, with 2 chaises and a daybed that splits to twins. Outdoor hot tub. Less than 3 blocks to metro/Marriot, 6 blocks from the zoo, and only two stops from downtown. Walking distance to restaurants, running trails, and other awesomeness.
Zebrawood floors, brightly colored furniture, a full kitchen, and funky modern touches make for a fun getaway, while allowing the flexibility for entertaining. I've listed the apartment to accomodate 4, but it could likely accomodate kids on the chaises as well. The bathroom has a shower and bath. The apartment has a separate entrance in the back of the house. There is no parking available. The bed is a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress. Less than two blocks from the Marriott and 4 from the Omni Shoreham.
Cable, wifi, the hot tub.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the house above the apartment, and unfortunately our thermostats are connected, but I am happy to set it at your desired temperature. Happy to answer any questions and guide you (I know a buncha delivery food options and some cool running trails.) But I'll take my lead from you and fully respect your privacy.
As a single mom with a young (but won't disturb you) child, Woodley Park makes us both happy. It's safe and beautiful and an easy walk to the zoo, farmers market, and Rock Creek Park trails. A quick metro to the monuments/museums and a short Uber away from 14th, H, and U streets to say nothing of the Sushi, Lebanese, Indian, Organic Chinese, and other assorted restaurants just blocks away. We alternate between wandering around neighborhood or hanging out in the hot tub under the trees and are very happy either way!
Metro, Uber, and taxis are all easy to come by.

Check in is anytime after 4, check out at noon.
The apartment is in a good location in a nice neighborhood. It's also nicely furnished. This was a tough weekend to be staying in DC. There was a snow storm and getting in and out of the apartment was very difficult because the walkway was slippery. It would have helped if the walkway had been cleared. There is no way to regulate the temperature in the apartment and the first night was very hot and the second night the apartment was smoky, due to fireplace smoke. While I didn't meet Alison, she did respond quickly to texts.
Alison welcomed my guest and I with open arms. She was very considerate about our privacy and responded to text messages very quickly. The place was exactly what I expected in the description. The neighborhood was also very nice and comforting. I met her once when we were having a problem with the heat and she was a delight. Her neighbors were also very friendly. I highly recommend staying here for a getaway, etc.
Alison's space was clean, modern and perfectly equipped for my stay. The private entrance made it independent and its proximity to the metro made it accessible. A very pleasant and convenient option- well located and tastefully designed I would recommend to all.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is a nice apartment, clean, accurately described. Although it is below the main level, there is a lot of sun and light, as pictured. There are a couple of items that diminished the experience. (1) The occupant cannot set the temperature; there is no thermostat. You get what seeps from above. The host will probably change the setting if you request that, but she cannot do this when she is not there. (2) Street parking for those without a DC residential permit in limited to not more than 2 hours between 7am and 6:30pm, M-F. Host will let you park in her driveway, but only when she is not there. There is no nearby alternative. If you are bringing a car, you should work out very precise arrangements with the host for use of her driveway.
We did not meet Alison but the apartment was exactly as described. We found it extremely clean, well positioned for exploring Washington, and quiet, in a lovely neighborhood. Would definitely recommend it! Thanks Alison!
Lovely, comfortable space in a wonderful location. My husband, our 2 teenagers, and I arrived Christmas afternoon for a 3-night stay. The space was spotless, attractive, and very roomy. I particularly loved the simple, uncluttered feel of the space after the craziness of Christmas morning. We spent a lot of time walking in Rock Creek Park and at the zoo. We ate at a couple of local restaurants, both of which were delicious. We traveled to the Smithsonian and to the Verizon Center easily by Metro, which is a short walk from the apartment. The hot tub provided a nice break after a long hike. The neighborhood is quiet and really lovely. This listing offers the perfect balance of relaxed retreat and easy access to sights, restaurants, and nature.
Thanks for visiting my page. I've just remodeled my basement apartment and will be renting it out when I don't have friends staying with me. It's a pretty awesome space. My nextdoor neighbors have a similar apartment listed here as well, so if you're travelling with a group/two families. Rent 'em both!
