Modern 1BR, with 2 chaises and a daybed that splits to twins. Outdoor hot tub. Less than 3 blocks to metro/Marriot, 6 blocks from the zoo, and only two stops from downtown. Walking distance to restaurants, running trails, and other awesomeness.
Zebrawood floors, brightly colored furniture, a full kitchen, and funky modern touches make for a fun getaway, while allowing the flexibility for entertaining. I've listed the apartment to accomodate 4, but it could likely accomodate kids on the chaises as well. The bathroom has a shower and bath. The apartment has a separate entrance in the back of the house. There is no parking available. The bed is a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress. Less than two blocks from the Marriott and 4 from the Omni Shoreham.
Cable, wifi, the hot tub.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the house above the apartment, and unfortunately our thermostats are connected, but I am happy to set it at your desired temperature. Happy to answer any questions and guide you (I know a buncha delivery food options and some cool running trails.) But I'll take my lead from you and fully respect your privacy.
As a single mom with a young (but won't disturb you) child, Woodley Park makes us both happy. It's safe and beautiful and an easy walk to the zoo, farmers market, and Rock Creek Park trails. A quick metro to the monuments/museums and a short Uber away from 14th, H, and U streets to say nothing of the Sushi, Lebanese, Indian, Organic Chinese, and other assorted restaurants just blocks away. We alternate between wandering around neighborhood or hanging out in the hot tub under the trees and are very happy either way!
Metro, Uber, and taxis are all easy to come by.

The place was fantastic - clean and conveniently located near the Metro. 10 mi walk to the Zoo. We had a great time and it was enjoyable experience. A car is not really needed, but there's a parking permit provided for street parking. Ample parking space available.
Wonderful apartment. Very comfortable and an awesome neighborhood! The hot tub was much needed after all that walking! I'm used to NYC with 3 minute blocks. Not so in Washington. Takes forever to get from Monument to Monument. Beautiful city though. The metro is nice and convenient to this apartment and the best thing was frozen margaritas for $1.00 at Medaterra right outside the metro station on your way home before the trek up the hill to the apartment.
Great place in a wonderful location, and there is a hot tub! Will gladly be back next time we're in DC.
This is a beautiful apartment, just as pictured. Well-lit and roomy, with private hot tub on the deck outside. We stayed for a week, two parents, two kids. It was a lovely retreat to come home to each day. Great to have a kitchen so we could make our own breakfasts. A couple of days one of my kids was ill and the suite was a very nice spot to stay home and chill. Footsteps from upstairs are quite audible so you do remember you're in a house, but they weren't at odd hours and didn't bother us. The hot tub was so great after long days walking. Alison was responsive and helpful (washed our towels midweek, for example). We loved it; highly recommend; hope to stay there again.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Roomy, bright and modern basement apartment in a very cozy neighborhood located in the heart of everything. Excellent value for the money. Loved the contemporary modern decor of the apartment -- someone spent a lot of time and thought making this place look so beautiful.
My 10 year old daughter and myself stayed at Alison's place in Woodley Park for our first trip to D.C., and it could not have been better. The apartment is in the basement of her house and is exactly as shown. Very clean. Very comfortable. Connecticut Avenue has many fine places to eat, and the Metro stop is right there. We went to the National Mall and Museums every day on the Metro, and to Dupont Circle and Cleveland Park for dinner. Highly recommend! Alison even let us park in her driveway to avoid issues with the limits for on-street parking. Alison was also very easy to communicate with and was very helpful during our stay.
The neighborhood is charming, the walk to my conference hotel was short and exactly as described, the apartment was impeccably clean! I wish I could keep my home that clean. Nice touches on the finish out of the unit, lights, lamps, fixtures, blinds, clearly someone has taken good care to make sure that the appointments of this residence are top notch. Ice water in the fridge, and coffee in the cupboard were an added bonus. With a separate entrance I had plenty of privacy. Highly recommend the host and the house.
Thanks for visiting my page. I've just remodeled my basement apartment and will be renting it out when I don't have friends staying with me. It's a pretty awesome space. My nextdoor neighbors have a similar apartment listed here as well, so if you're travelling with a group/two families. Rent 'em both!
