Rose's Cottage on Sheepshead Peninsula overlooking Dumanus Bay is the perfect respite to get away from it all. Rose and her family were wonderful hosts with Rose greeting us upon our arrival. Her home included more than ample space for a family. Clean, warm and quiet ...perfect for a rest. She provided perfect directions, which one is wise to use going to Bantry as gps can give one some pretty remote routes. Rose also provided lovely crackers, cheese milk, coffee and some basics to hold us until we shopped. The wonderful local cheese from Durrus with pickles was delicious.

A warm welcome awaited us with an array of provisions provided which was both thoughtful and generous of the host. A fire had been laid for us ready to light on our arrival and there was plenty of fuel provided for the fire place. The accommodation is located ideally with stunning views of the bay and was both comfortable and warm. There were plenty of items included in the property such as a coffee-maker and all sorts of items of crockery, dishtowels, books, DVD player and other useful kitchen items to make your stay comfortable and easy. The host was keen to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible which it was. We would most heartily recommend this spot if you are visiting this neck of the woods and could not recommend Rose more highly as a host.

Very quiet and romantic place. Lots of space for the whole family, even on rainy days you can easily pass the time indoors. Spectacular view and beautiful garden! Don't trust GPS to get there ... Rose's description will do better. We will miss the fireplace ...

Coming from Dublin, we had sadly only booked 2 days in Rose's lovely house. It was love at first sight! We really loved it! We were able to have our dog with us (which to us made the holidays) and Rose was more than welcoming, doing everything in her power to make our stay comfortable. She had got for us quite a few items of food, kept toothbrushes and other things in the bathroom cupboard for people like me who had forgotten to pack them. Her house had everything and more you might have at home. Fabulous bathroom, beautiful bedrooms, lovely fireplace that she offered to lit for us, great kitchen, amazing vue on the bay, DVDs and boardgames, books and guides on the area. We knew within minutes we would come back some day for another stay. When we left, I left my Kindle behind, and Rose returned it to me. Really, my daughters and myself want to thank Rose for her kindness and generosity. It was more than what we expected having rented a cottage for 2 nights. Thank you!

I live on a farm rearing cattle and sheep. The house we rent is 30 yards away from our main house, and 3 miles from the small village of Kilcrohane. Rose Cottage has a big garden and a great sea view. We have recently upgraded the bathroom and installed a new bathroom suite and new electric shower in the house. I am fond of gardening and with my husband grow our own vegetables which we share with our guests in the Summer. At the back of the house is a mountain which is part of the Sheeps head Walking Route. In summer there are three tea and coffee shops, two restaurants, and also a small country market with local produce. I am fond of dogs and allow guests to bring their dogs [two max] with them. I like to travel and have been in America a few times plus Canada and Europe. I welcome all visitors to my cottage to share their travel experiences and enjoy the beauty of the Sheep's Head peninsula. The town of Bantry is 22 miles away where you can Visit Bantry House and Gardens and have a scenic walk along the sea shore, and use the exercise machines as you go along enjoy. Every Friday there is a street market with cheeses, olives, bric a brac, fruit and veg, Artisan Food . Our house is on Wild Atlantic Way Route. house rented 3 day minium July and August weekly only or longer. We have WIFI at cost 10 EURO per Week which can be purchased on arrival,if you are only staying 3 days no charge .Wifi is also advailable at the local restaurants, and White House Gallery and Teashop
