Interaction with Guests
I'm very knowledgeable on London so if this is your first trip into London I would be delighted to give you any tourist/transport information you may need.
Clapham North is truly one of the nicest areas in London. You will fall in love with its village atmosphere and its exciting young scene, loads of fabulous bars and restaurants to unwind and mingle with the cool crowd.
Enjoy all the pleasures of this bustling area from the comfort of your "home away from home." Just 7 minute walk is the Fish Club, It is listed as one of the top fish & chips rest. in London! About 6 minute walk there is also a great spanish restaurant, La Teraza, autherntic spanish feel and food not to mentioned a great place to hang out with the local people and enjoy the outside seating.
10 minute walk from my apartment is the lovely Clapham Common, which provides an oasis of peace amid the busy traffic of south west London, with Holy Trinity Church, which dates from 1776, at its perimeter. A number of cafés, sporting facilities, two playgrounds (one of which has been recently renovated) and a skate park make the common a lively recreational facility for locals. Originally built in 1890, Clapham Common's bandstand is the largest in London. After falling into disrepair in the 1960s, the bandstand was restored and reopened in 2006 and now hosts a variety of open-air concerts during the summer month.
10 minute walk (or you can take a bus) to get to a giant Sainsbury’s (supermarket), not to mention all the small shops that are in the area!
Communications are excellent. Train will take you to Victoria in 10 mins (providing brilliant access from Gatwick airport) and to London Bridge (City) or Leicester Square (heart of London) in 15.
Buses to South Bank (National Theatre, London Eye, Tate Modern) less than 2 mins walk and good easy journey. For the most scenic routes of London take the bus 87 past the Tate Gallery up to Westminster (Houses of Parliament, Westminster Cathedral), Whitehall, Trafalgar Square (National Gallery) , Whitehall and Covent Garden. Buses to Sloane Square (Kings Road) Knightsbridge (Harrods and other great shops) and Notting Hill/Portobello Road can be taken from Clapham Common. Buses run all night (N88) too and if you need a taxi I will be more than happy to give you my local one.

Adriano is an exemplary host: careful, affectionate, gentle and lovely. The room is a great surprise: clean, tidy and cozy. I felt like I was at home. The location is great and beautiful and safe neighborhood.
Adriano is a charming and friendly man. His flat is very nice and in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of restaurants and life! It is close to Clapham Common, a wonderful large park. Close to the tube, too!
L'appartement est très bien situé. Transport facile par métro, mais également par bus. Adriano est un hôte chaleureux et ses conseils pour découvrir la ville et la vie à Londres nous ont été très précieux.
We stayed for 2 nights (in July 2012) in Adrianos little flat which is only 5 minutes from the Clapham North tube station - very convenient.
The flat was very clean and tidy and Adriano himself very helpful and friendly. He showed us the way to the tube station and recommended the best pubs/restaurants and shops.
Can only recommend this place. We had a great time there and Adriano was a fantastic host. He was always happy to recommend us some nice places to have dinner...
The 2 rooms are very confortable and the place is very convenient, about 5 min. walk to the next subway station. Very easy to get to central london
Adriano was incredibly helpful and very nice. He is very knowledgeable about the area and attractions. The place was clean and in a good (email hidden)y a 2 minute walk to the train (the underground system is super easy and convenient to use in London). The neighborhood was charming and quaint - a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. This was our first Airbnb experience and we would recommend staying with Adriano!
Adriano is a very accommodating, friendly, well travelled host. Needless to say, the apartment was absolutely spotless, very comfortable, with great amenities and a peaceful atmosphere. It really was terrific to have a 24hrs food market only 2 minute walk. The apartment is truly only a 5 minute walk from the tube station and it is also close to lots of bars and restaurants, shops and ice cream parlors. Clapham is really a very charming neighborhood, where true Londoners still live in. I enjoyed talking with Adriano, I felt like I had known him before. My friends and I were very very pleased we booked The Orchid Rooms. The whole stay was gorgeous. Don't hesitate to stay here--you won't be disappointed!

About the Host, Adriano
Hello, I'm a friendly Italian man with a very positive outlook on life.
I am an endlessly curious. I love to experience the world with eyes wide open. I never stop exploring, discovering and evolving.
I love the Arts and creative people and I am liberal. Life to me is a storybook full of fascinating tales. I amass information 'on the hoof' and very little passes me by. Understanding what makes others tick is meat and drink to me and proves to be a source of endlessly joy.
I always keep my mind active. I love beauty in all forms, I am well educated and I like to remain totally classless. This makes it easy for me to get on with just about any sort of person. I am thought-provoking and even quite deep on occasions.
I organize luxury tours in Italy for small parties and occasionally I escort them, as I am a professional tour guide too. I get involved in other exciting things which keep me busy too, such as painting, reading books, newspaper and cultural magazines, photography, video editing, cycling, theater, music, fitness and movies.
I strongly believe a very clean, secure, welcoming feel, and comfortable house is of paramount importance to travelers who don't want to break their bank account!
I have been traveling on my own since the age of 14! I have been an exchange student in Baltimore for a year at the age of 18 and then at 20 I visited 36 States in the U.S. on a three cross Country tour. Been in Singapore and Malaysia, Maldives, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Morocco, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Turkey and all Western European Countries.
When you stay at my place I will make you feel a member of my family as my life's golden rule is to treat others as you wish to be treated!
I am always on an adventure. Enjoy hearing about people's travels and life styles. It stands to good reason why you would enjoy staying in my home: it is a warm and caring place.
I look forward to meeting you and show the true Mediterranean hospitality with an English twist!
This warm and inviting pub situated directly opposite Clapham North station is a great place for meeting friends and its decor is very homely and the staff are quick and usually happy.
This is a proper hidden gem,I mean hidden. The food is seriously good. It's priced but not outregeous. If you go have the Old Cuban, a mojito made with champagne. Tastes even better than it sounds.
Big and yellow this Clapham Classic rarely fails. If you squeeze through the crowd on front terrace to reach the bar you'll find some decent ciders and beers on tap, lots of wine and nice staff.
This place is seriously amazing. The sushi is ridiculously fresh, tasty and quality. The cocktails are lush. And the service was fabulous. The price therefore reflects the above!
Go on, treat yourself
Best fish'n chips in London! If you're looking for just fish n- chips, just order the kids portion. It's the perfect amount and much cheaper than ordering one of the larger fish plus a side of chips.
If you buy any ticket from the Railway Station you qualify for the "London Attractions: 2 for 1 offers"! You will save ££££!!!
A MUST if you are a couple.
Absolute divine coffee and pastries.
Excellent venue for live performances. The sound system is powerful and live instruments sound beautifully clear. All in all, a fantastic local venue in the buzzing area of Brixton!
This is a huge supermarket with quality food at great prices!
Good vibes, good music, good venue, good location!! Cheap drinks, cheap cloakroom, cheap entrance! No dress code and I.D. is required! Great live PA's! Absolutely spot on and you can't go wrong!
Ever since I first went to Bodean's, we've been hooked! They have the most amazing Burnt Ends and Pulled Pork I've ever had! They have great BBQ sauce and a selection of hotter sauces on each table.
Simply the best pizza in the Country!!
Coffees, teas and delicious pastries in a big open space, opposite an even bigger open space, Clapham Common! This is the go-to spot for Clapham-ites. Everything looks like a work of art.
Probably the best burger I've ever had. These patties are simply incredible. Juicy, pink in the middle, riddled with tast and served up in a great bun with pickles and caramelised onions. Yes!!
Awsome ambience, great staff, delicious food and great cocktails too! Don't miss it!!
Cool music venue! Decent price drink, squirrelled away off Brixton Hill is this gig venue that shows great music most nights of the week. Check out their website to see what's on!
